*NOTE* The ratings I give are based solely on my personal taste, so feel free to disagree. The scoring of an anime is a direct reflection of its overall enjoyment to me. While some aspects outweigh others (for example if an anime has a particularly interesting plot but a not so great art-style, I would give it a higher rating then if it had a great art-style but a boring plot), all of them (art, story, character personalities, their development, music etc.) contribute towards the rating it receives.
10 - The Void: Any 'Voiders' have made it onto my 'favorites' list. These are the special few that have managed to entice me from the beginning all the way to the finale. If you feel that you have similar a taste to mine, you need to watch these...ASAP...
9 - Must'ees: Must'ees is an abbreviation for 'Must-see', and as the name suggests - all 9's are an entertaining watch! Unfortunately they just missed that little 'umph' that would've claimed the 'Voider' status.
8 - Great'ns: Great'ns (a.k.a Great Ones) are the 'above average' group. The 'diamonds in the rough' - had they had a tad bit more polishing around the edges, whether it be having a more interesting storyline or a more diverse character range, they would've been something to remember.
7 - Average: As the title suggests, this group sets the bar for what's defined as 'good' and what's defined as 'boring'. You watch these, then you forget about them until a friend brings up the name and you remember again. Nothing eye-clawingly boring, but nothing special either.
6 - Meh: This little group toes the boundary of 'ugh, there's x hours of my life i'll never get back', just barely endurable. Best described as 'the lower quartile of average'.
6 is the lowest rating. Anything below the standard of a 6, I most likely didn't manage to continue onto after the first 3 episodes.

Hello, and thanks for reading the second edition of the Anime Guild's Newsletter!
We are proud to announce that we’ve introduced several new features to our line-up of great activities =).
Our first new feature is our Seasonal Opening Competition. We at the Anime Guild provide a great assortment of Seasonal Activities and we believe that this will be a great addition to the line-up. So if you’re a huge fan of openings make sure you pay attention to the rest of our tournament -.^.
Secondly we are attempting to incorporate more Manga to our club with our Weekly Manga Discussion. Where you members vote upon what manga to read for the week and then can discuss that with other members of the club.
Lastly we have something a little different in our Seasonal Power Rankings where we take a group of people AND SHOVE THEM INTO A STEEL CAGE TO FIGHT IT OUT! Nah seems too violent if you ask me. We’ve set up a power ranking committee that will come together and discuss which x-amount of anime to watch per season and rank them from 1 to 10-15 every 3 weeks during the course of that season. Please enjoy our masochism =p. Second Edition should be posted on May 18th.
We are now halfway through the Spring 2015 Season and our Seasonal Discussion continues to grow as one of the more popular activities in the club. Please join the discussion if you want to journey with us to the climaxes of the various shows =O.

Yeah its pretty amazing. A worthy candidate for anime of 2014. Its about two boys Nine and Twelve, they call themselves Sphinx. They plant bombs and send the police a cryptic message of the whereabouts through an online video. When Twelve is placing the bombs, a girl Lisa catches him in the act and she is forced to be an accomplice. The music is pretty amazing too. Im not a big fan of how Lisa and Twelve are drawn though.
That sounds like an anime setting. Did you guys smash watermelons? :3
Mmmm Zankyou no terror, Aldnoah Zero for action.. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki Kun, Barakamon for slice of life/comedy and Nobunaga Concerto for history? They're all airing at the moment but finishing really soon...
Zankyou no terror - All characters are really developed and likeable except the girl Lisa... Shes just really stupid and most of the time I have to facepalm myself over her actions. So far I haven't been bored with any episode~
Aldnoah Zero - The music in this is amazing!! The story is alright, not a big fan of mecha.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki Kun - I love this anime, even though I already read the manga ( like 3 times now ) It still makes me laugh. All the characters are hilarious and definitely not your typical anime cliches.
Barakamon - A feel good anime. Has it's funny moments.
Nobunaga Concerto - I dont know, the art is really weird. The storyline is alright. I just really like it o:
Yeah I know! Diamond no Ace is a perfect example of what you are talking about. I don't know, it's hard to find an amazing villain like Makishima! Hmmm, maybe Laughing Man from GITS, from what I've seen that is. Haven't watched all of the 1st season yet.
