i guess EM and LP both had something everyone could relate to, never had that problem with frnds though since none of my frnd listen to english songs :(
i think u understand some of it how indians can be all they care about is punjabi and haryanvi songs XD
i just like anything that sounds good to me most of the time m not eve sure what the genre is, maybe if english was my native language i would have been more intrested into it
