If there ever was an anime that was meant to teach and in a way prepare you for what it feels like to say goodbye to a loved one, boys and girls its Plastic Dreams.
I mean it was obvious here that we’ll be getting a sad anime, just watch 6 seconds into the OP seeing Isla with the song Ring of Fortune playing and I already want to regret not stopping it right there. Save myself from the dreaded final episodes’ cryfest and the impending depression carrying till the next few days. Even though that is exactly what ended up happening however minus the gut-wrenching
...
depression because this anime did an exceptional job of preparing you for it... to not be so deadly.
The story is about Tsukasa and Isla. Isla is a Giftia, an immensely advance android created by Sion Artificial Intelligence Corporation that are human-like in every way but are limited to only a 9 year lifespan because due to limitations, it's memory system deteriorates. Tsukasa on the other hand is an ordinary human being who was lucky enough to get a job at Terminal Station, which falls under the Sion Artificial Intelligence Corporation where Isla is stationed at. From here it's really quite simply where the plot goes, the two become partners and eventually things kick off between them.
I feel like I can’t say anything more than that due to spoilers however I can give you a tip when watching. There will come a time through the anime where stopping it feels like the best thing for you to do, only because everything will seem perfect the way it is and you believe you have the power to pretend that the anime ends here. I had a run in with this a few times in a few episodes. I'm constantly telling myself just stop where I am because everyone is doing well and they all are happy, for me to stay happy too, I should just stop it here. Well don’t because you will miss out on a lot of good yet painful memories.
Overall I’m pretty sure there a quite a few more suitable anime more fitting for what I've said right at the beginning of my review, however I really enjoyed what the creators did with the human and A.I relationship theme. I like the fact that Giftias are treated as human rather than mere machines and that there wasn't any conflicting parties who are against Giftias which would've cause a bit more drama for our main characters. Even being rather light in terms of that, it was still a very enjoyable anime, worth the watch and worth the tears.

First of all please note that this is no means for children to watch even though it's protagonists are children. Also by no means expect a light-hearted fun filled adventure anime here, if so then you have been completely deceived as well as I was. There are strong adult themes present which just skyrockets towards the end.
Now talking about deceived, to be completely honest I found the first to mid parts of the anime (speaking specifically about episodes 1-8) literally quite boring to an extent that makes me question why do I even bother. Yeah it has an interesting plot as well as
...
solid motive for the female protagonist Riko to pursue her descend down the Abyss which is nice to follow but it became a bit of a struggle to watch them navigate down each layer. Parts do end up becoming like a rise-and-repeat a fair which is understandable for the type of coming of age story that this anime is. We have a child literally risking her life in ascending the Abyss yet blatantly knowing all the life threatening dangers that lurk on her journey. Which is quite silly and very irredeem... wait I mean irresponsible, to begin with.
Still the characters and the mystery that is the Abyss was captivating, you have the giant hole on an island like a dormant volcano which ended up attracting people all over the world to move here and settle down. Apparently there wasn't anything else to discover in the world anymore. The Abyss literally becomes a goldmine for the settlers in general and soon enough a booming enormous town is established with the Abyss as its core. Yes, as you can imagine it gets pretty interesting from there onwards.
For me the reason why this show got so much praise was to how unique is was, which to most avid anime consumer its damn refreshing. 2017 gave us plenty of the same trash we love, however Made in Abyss was quite different, to that which is clear as day evident in its amazing artstyle accompanying with very tone down fantasy style soundtracks unlike most fantasy genre anime we got his year. I don’t want to drop spoilers here but towards the last episodes the overall nature of this anime completely changing and i can honestly swear that tiny parts for soul were pulled out of me watching some of the most disturbing scenes I've seen in anime.
All in all it is a completely worth watching anime. If you ever do find yourself in an situation of dropping it, then don’t. The ending was set on a high yet light note perfect for the build up to the second season which I feel is going to remind you that this is definitely not a light-hearted fun filled adventure anime for everyone.

When an actual plot can over weigh the trashiness you get SHINMAI MAOU NO TESTAMENT !
So this was a very interesting watch for me and for most people i could imagine the same. I always try not to look into an anime too much before deciding to watch it and Shinmai Maou No Testament is no exception.
Holy moly as if I was watching High School DxD but with force intent to actually enjoy it. I can honestly say that I did ENJOY and emphasis on enjoy I might add however I literally thought this was complete hentai I and to my appeal there was
...
some kind of nice balance to all this.
We go from this weird two episodes of sacrifice (Protect the president) type of scenes to the extremely lewdy (please put the volume levels down so your family does know how much a perverted person you are which is completely unintentional). I swear I jump out of bed just to do so. However further through the series it became expected of me to do so.
One must transcend lewdness and accept oneself to accept Shinmai Maou No Testament and on that note thank Gawd for an actually plot to follow. I mean on a real the only reason this show scores low is because of the crazy lewdness, most end up stopping in the middle or completely skip through to the lewdness to reenjoy it if that a word.
Yeah so what you'll are some fun action moments accompanied by an lowkey OP protagonist trying to protect his little sister (please note that they are not blood related!) in a honest and pure way but ends up a little more than what that kind of relationship should be.
However it is worth a watch to appreciate some crazy oppai sister and brother love you'll won't experience in any step-incest romcom fest.

Too all the pokemon Fans out there, I'm talking about the really OG fans.
This I can't help but emphasise that this pokemon movie left me with no feels no reminiese. Just a fairly decent movie which is clearly made to sell to the new nintendo DS pokemon generation, for them to somehow appreciate what has happened in the franchise if any.
I mean the very start of the movie I was fully invested to watch but then the new villians flips the script and makes what it is to mean about pokemon something else as if he was actually one of us playing the
...
gameboy advance version of Pokemon Red (He is literally that)
Side note to villains Team Rocket was some of the most entertainment I have got from pokemon and to see what has happened to them at the end (nothing happened) is somewhat disappointing.
But all in all I only wanted to finish it because it was Pokemon and HOLY FKING SHIZ pikachu!!!!
a series that I was practically raise on that turns on me so hard that nurse joy cant help to revive me. I Think most of us has to just accept that pokemon is just a money cow for future generations and on that note we must cherish the good old pokemon series and movies even though that is all we can do at this moment.

Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? otherwise known as SukaSuka
So let me begin by saying that I have completely put this anime on hold after watching the first episode of it around the time it came out in April/May.
Reasons to that was the first episode was kinda not that interesting to me. About a guy with a mysterious past takes a job to look after a bunch of lolis (wow amazing right?).
Nah what I mean is that, there were too many anime at the time coming out that were highly recommended that I simply couldn't care much of
...
SukaSuka after that, however 7 months later I continued SukaSuka and I can honestly say that I am so on another level glad that I did (literally feels bad not giving it a go the first time). Well to my surprise SukaSuka was so flipping amazing!. If it wasn't for the opening scenes of the first episode which made me more than enough curious to come back to it, then this anime would have been long gone from me.
From there were do I begin? The music? geez the music was absolutely breathtaking, which ended up hitting me so hard towards the end of the series. You get this truly wonderful love story that inspires and builds throughout the anime, culminating till the very end which is executed in such a way that may seem extremely desolating at the end but gives the viewer so much more to imagine and take in (FEELS). All carried beautifully by an truly stunning soundtrack that elevates this anime to another level. That is thanks to Scarborough Fair performed by Tamaru Yamada (Hits so hard on the emotions I tell you).
The setting is a beautiful enigmatic world of numerous floating islands that are each home to small towns and are inhabited by animal humanoid-like people, to the dreaded surface that is filled with beasts being the reason why the races had to take it to the sky. The story behind this lies with what the humans had done centuries ago which in turn saw the demise of their race. There is no doubt a substantial amount of mystery throughout this anime and one watching would definitely consider that maybe they had missed a season or two before this, which is completely understandable. Yet this storytelling in this sense where the viewer is suddenly flug into the world is moderately rare. I am tired of anime series blatantly explaining the entire world in the first few episodes like an overly hyped New York times bestseller novel list of teen fantasy/sci-fi getting a Hollywood movie adaptation. This being a light novel the original creator had his hands in the adaption (Akira Kareno) so I fully trust that the 12 episodes is what was originally intended and hopefully a second season of this anime is on the horizon (please!).
Little things I really liked was that Willem was not portrayed throughout the show as a badass overpower warrior, he had more meaningful ways in protecting his love ones. The fact that this MC doesn't take centre stage is very refreshing. The world and lore isn't forced on you like most anime, I like the fact that throughout it is talked upon here and there leaving more mystery for us to piece things together about the world. There is this equilibrium of the cute funny side of Willem and the girls, to the more seriousness side of the state of the world which you can see during the time Willem spends with the girls and the battles the girls face respectively. The love story is slightly forced but in an understandable way to Chtholly’s character being a young girl at that age where she is able to think for herself, especially after meeting someone (Willem) who she thought she will never see again. I mean there are so many other things that gets to me about this anime, that makes me want to come back to, especially the music.
I can therefore say that SukaSuka has lowkey stolen my heart, has also made me reignite my love for anime. You know those endings that leaves you so empty as fuck BUT make you wish and wonder, that throws you in a room with your own interpretations and thoughts of what has happened and what will yet to come. Damn this anime made me laugh and most importantly cry so damn hard, that no anime has done for me to be completely honest.
This is my first review and i am completely new to MAL, because of this anime I just had to make an account.
