Here's what you should expect.
The series is very much episodic in nature, that while connected has a mini slice of life for each arc. Vivy starts with a complete bang and a very intriguing premise. I would say that the first half was so brilliantly engaging and tackles interesting these at the same time.
The conclusion of the story isn't necesarilly bad. It is just simply cliche and thus I envy younger children who watch this because the cliche aspect was done really well and emotionally charged. I could see someone shedding a tear.
The theme of what a heart is and also about following one's purpose

was done quite phenomenally. If you're expecting some scifi theme that's where you will be disappointed cause that part is just the outer layer, while the concept of purpose and definitions of the heart are explored deeper.
There are some twist and turns here and there but nothing too crazy. Overall if you love slice of lice anime that tackles interesting themes this is definitely one of few good ones on recent years.

Non-Spoiler review.
This movie is very heavy-handed, and character writing isn't the most nuanced. But nevertheless it brings out its themes quite well, and that's what slice of life main purpose is supposed to be. Instead of the series to be focused on dying, I would say it is actually more on "what does it mean to live?"
We have two protagonist with very different perspectives on life, and the plot is basically them learning from each other what life is from the other side. At least that's what I thought. Unfortunately it is a rather one sided argument as the series conclusion chooses which type

of life is the correct answer. While I agree with the message, I thought it would have been more interesting to be able to portray the other side in fairer way.
Nevertheless, the series is heartwarming, great pacing, and a poetic payoff that links back to the title of the series, these things are enough for me to overlook its weaknesses.

Hi Guys, so with this review I aim to be as unbiased as possible.
First thing, you'll notice that the rating for this seris is 7.9. Let me tell you that this series deserves much more than that. A lot of hate going to this show is people trying to push their ideals about huge age gap, and minors having intercourse to be not okay to be showed in a series.
First off, let me just say yes it is not okay to have intercourse with minors due to consent, especially in the US. But, a better question is do you know what actually happens in practice?

Are the people here really saying that this is not realistic. A runaway high schooler doing sexual favors to receive housing seems like a possible scenario to me, and I believe there would be such a problem in different societies. I probably bet its a real problem in Japan as well.
The series main thing is focused on this aspect "Some people have warped expectations of what a growup male is expected to do" and the series basically provides a character that wants to challenge these misogynistic expectations that treats women like objects. Does it tackle dark themes? Yes, but I think it tackles these themes straight on. I beleive that Yoshida represents a character every man should strive to be. One of the best quotes I got from him is "I obviously want to, but I refuse to". It brings the whole action of exploting vulnerable people for sexual intentions in different light, given that many men blame it on their urges to do something inappropriate.

My review is completely based on the plot overall up to the farm arc.
So what to expect from this series? Expect a slow burn. The prologue to the story last around 15 chapters into the series. Then the main story starts. And for the first arc, if you like repititive (I don't mean in a bad way) expedition fights with some interesting characters, this could be the one for you. But do read at least 30 or so chapters before dropping this, since by then you'll get the feel of this series.
If you compare the first part of the main story lets say

to something like berserk, there are some similarities. But I would say the political intrigue isn't as evident in Vinland Saga. Its a much more character driven story, with some cool fights (do watch the anime from wit studio). But then expect the story to take a turn. Again I need to emphasize, this is a story focused mostly on the development of the character and not the political intrigue or adventure aspect. To be honest it could get dull at certain times. But some of the payoffs are great. Overall I think Vinland has some great moments, but it does pale in comparison to some other stories given that the overarching story of Vinland isn't as compelling in my opinion.
Now the bigger problems. There are some parts where deus ex machina is used, even in character development. Which does irk me, given that these moments do come out of nowhere and is quite nonsensical. Additionally, I do have a peeve that someone talks for so long before he/she dies even after being wounded severely. But these things don't really hurt the story as much as I think.

Anohana's greatest strength is its characters and the pacing of the story which is just a treat. If you don't enjoy the story from the get go, or at most episode 2, I don't think this anime is for you, especially given how great the two leads are. Its a short and sweet series with impeccable pacing. The payoffs weren't mind blowing but it was good nevertheless.
In my opinion the story itself isn't the strongest by a long mile , neither are the themes the deepest. Its a letting go story, and finding lost youth. But Anohana doesen't pretend its anything too deep either.

It focuses on the strengths of the characters, the realistic portrayals of each one's struggle over past regrets, and great chemistry between characters. There isn't much filler or fanservice either and the pacing just feels great.
Its even better than both the OP and Ending theme are brilliant.
If you're looking for a good time and like it from the get go this really won't disappoint.

Shinsekai Yori starts off pretty strong, with great setups, a lingering mystery that makes you desire more about the world. With all the talks of tainted cats, Queerats, Cantus, karma demons and what not, I really do think that this was a well thought world. I also think that criticism towards its art is odd. I felt it ahd an artsy vibe that made it unique. The story itself had a mild progression, with the usualy fantasy slow burn you would find in most stories (at the very least it was only 25 episdoes for the complete story.
However there are several issues i want

to point out. The first is the pacing. While I felt the direction of the first episode was mildly confusing, I had believe it was intended to create a more eerie atmosphere. However, as the story unfolds, I began to feel that maintaining the same style throughout the whole series made this such a drag. I had DNFed this series 3 times before finally powering throuhg to complete it.
As far as payoffs went, there are some merits to it. But don't expect to get any satisfying answers, or raising any new interesting questions anytime soon.
The first 15 episodes I would say were really just a setup for the main conflict. And that made it draggy. The problem is the characters weren't that relatable either and I felt annoyed by some of them sometimes.
To sum it up the series is a long worldbuilding piece that leads up to a some sort of story towards the end. Its true I heard that the series was meant to contain metaphorss that allude to certain aspects in the real world. Knowing that does help appreicate this piece more. However from a pure entertainment perspective, I would not say it holds a candle to a lot of other anime series.

People who hate on nisekoi mainly complain two things. The ending or that its being dragged out.
So First of the ending. Its dumb to even think of a different ending. Its literally the setup of the series. And I think the payoffs definitely fits the setups placed. Its dumb to think another character would win in the end. Additionally, despite me loving other girls, I am happy that Raku picked someone. I think that Nisekoi is not really a harem per say. While many characters do fall in love with the MC, I think its to partially show us the good sides of our MC

or to make the plot develop more. Marika progresses the plot a lot. While Haru shows us more into why you can't really hate Raku for long.
The dragged out part is true. But I followed this on a weekly basis till the ending so it never felt like that for me. Of course I waited for an ending to come. But I love this series that truthfully its hard to let it go that easily.
Story -8
It has an interesting premise. Not just a typical harem setup but a mystery. Sure new girl meets boy, and somehow they have to become a fake couple seems cliche. But the mystery of the lock really drives the plot. The payoffs are great imo. It was a great decision and direction no complaints.
Characters (and comedy) - 8
Are you looking for deep characters? Go and read some seinen or some classic book. While Nisekoi characters arent some profound character study, these characters are endearing and funny. We do see developments especially in our two protagonist (and my favorite girl Haru of course). Is Raku dumb not to realize these girls liking him? Kinda but why not? Its consistent anyways. But here's a more important question that I can't say yes to for most series. Does our protagonist deserve the love of the other girls. Yes I really do. Onodera has known Raku for some time now, of course she notices what Raku is really like. Chitoge hates Raku in the beginning, and that relationship just grows and grows over time. Haru cannot accept Raku, but soon realizes lots of part of him that's endearing. Raku is by far my favorite school romance harem protagonist, up there with Yamada. Raku's realization of his love is still one my favorite moments in Nisekoi Manga.
Additionally, while not always, the character are really funny in the series. So don't take things to seriously, and enjoy the ride.
Oh for those of you that want to say that Yahari's protagonist is much better. I disagree. Hachiman is more interesting and deeper than Raku. But no, if you're looking for a protagonist that follows through and deserves the love from other characters, Raku is miles above Hachiman. Hachiman's most horrid part is the fact that he is actually very observant but can't seem to notice 3 girls that actually like him. And when he does, he isn't even good at following through with them. Compare Yahari final season with Raku and Onodera final scene. Which one was more of a gentleman at the end. Additionally just some advice, imitate Raku and you'll find girls will actually appreciate you as a person. Imitate Hachiman and you'll just be weird.
Overall I really do recommend people do get into the series. Watch the anime season 1 then just read the manga. Season 2 pacing was odd.

This series probably tops so many other series with its first arc. It is one of the best things I have seen coming out of Shonen Jump. Even after that, thought you see an apparent dip in quality, it was still good. If we were basing it off for most of the series, I would go for 8.5/10.
However, the ending was mediocre. The final confrontation was actually a great battle, but the consequences were not there. Given how somber and dark the series was, the author suddenly became too nice to his/her characters, making it quite mediocre.
The final chapter was the weakest for me.

It had a good direction, but apparently the author decided to reverse it comppletely with the last few final panels. It ended very shounen like. People called this a fullmetal alchemist ending, but it really wasn't. Fullmetal saw two great consequences with two central characters, one forever losing sight, the other forever losing alchemy.
I think people will still enjoy the majority of the story. But I don't think I'll strongly recommend the story as I did previously.

Let me just say that I am a big fan of Tower of God webtoon. That thing is a masterpiece and should not be compared to this garbage. They did decently in the beginning, but ruined it completely. Especially the freaking climax of season 1. WTH is wrong with this director!!!!! Like seriously all he had to do is just follow the webtoon. Just do that cmon. Okay then time for spoilers

WTH is wrong with this director. I mean does he not get why Rachel pushing Bam scene was so so so so so good. Like one of the best scenes in all of media

ever? Its the fact that we have no clear idea if Rachel is bad or not, or has any bad intention towards Bam. We always assumed she was just neutral and that she was going to take Bam's hand in a touching moment. Then she pushes him. Then all of the readers grow silent as they realize Shit Just Got Real and this was no love story.
WTF is with this director suddenly humanizing rachel first before that scene. Losing all of its shock value, so despicable. All of the back story should be shown after. Its what you call a reveal, I mean learn it!!!! God this was so disappointing, just when we got a chance to see this masterpiece on screen, thought the world will be able to see it for how great it is. God you ruined it. I swear this Director is the worst there is. ABSOLUTELY disappointed.

So my review is based on recent rewatch. Used to give this anime a 9-10 given how good the story is for its time. Animation as well. This review really stems from my recent discussion on how I used to feel attack on titan being similar to FMA. But it just made me grow less fond of FMA after further comparison.
Art 7/10
I know its not fair because this was done in 2009. But I felt the arts tone sometimes felt inconsistent. Biggest example is when Ed was showing anguish after confronting Shou Tucker. It was supposed to be a serious moment yet

the art made it look comical, but I'm not really bumping it down for that.
Story 8.5/10
Its still a good story with amazing revelations. However they removed so much from the manga causing some very odd pacing. I did not realize this before and simply enjoyed it. Dublith arc is an example of this with no build up to Bradley appearing in South. Like why? In the manga it was much better, with also a clear reason why Bradley knows where Greed was. Another complaint is the gags. The first time I watched it I had no issues, but now I feel it drags the pacing of the story a lot. It also makes it hard to appreciate the dark undertones of the story. I again did not realize this problem before. Only after watching AoT do I get to appreciate the lack of humor. Additionally, felt that the first season had lots of fillers that dragged the story a lot, second season was when the story improves.
Also I realized a big problem. The beginning of the series, its hard to relate to the brothers other than to he sad for them. But I mean they really want to get their body back, but the urgency isn't there. It had a weaker start.
Characters 7/10
Used to appreciate Edward Elric and Roy Mustang more. But I feel FMA has a large cast with some of them not really essential to the plot. Thus reducing screen time for some of these characters. Hughes and Havoc to me was not developed as good as I expected.
