My guy friends here both have Xboxes (sp? haha), and they both say to get a 360 instead of a PS3. Their argument is that so we can all play with each other and stuff and it's "just better", but I don't have experience with the Xbox at all so I can't really compare... and I'm just kinda biased towards Playstation. Haha.
I've read about them though, and I guess to play multi-player on Xbox you have to pay, but on PS it's free. And the whole PS3 as a blu-ray player is also a plus, since we now have an 3D/HD/Smart TV, and regular DVD's don't really do our TV justice. (I wish my parents had listened to me when I told them to go with the new Sony 3D TV that had a promotion of a free sound system, wi-fi thingy, AND PS3 console. :O But nooo, we had to go with the Samsung with a free entertainment system that actually can't play blu-ray discs... rendering the free movie and 3D glasses useless. The Sony was actually slightly cheaper. *slightly bitter*) PLUS, I'm not really the team-player type, so I probably wouldn't even want to multi-player that often anyway... I usually play games that require one player, 2-players max.
Okay, nevermind. I think I'll stick with the PS3. Haha
I decided to give up my ticket to go back to America this December, but even though I'd probably have enough to buy both, I'm not sure I'm decadent enough to buy 2 consoles that play basically the same titles.
Anyway... For the PS3, I re-thought about the backwards compatibility thing and realised that I didn't personally have a PS2 to begin with and if I wanted to I could just download PS2 games from the PSN. So... that's no longer cared-about. Haha. But anyway, over here, the price of a new PS3 slim 160GB is like, P13,000 = +$300. I checked on BestBuy.com and a 160 GB would only cost like $250. A used one *should* be around $200 or less... I'm assuming the older non-slim ones and the ones with less GB's would be even less (sans backwards-compatible ones, of course). So, I guess my range is like $150-200.

Would you mind keeping on the look out for a used PS3 for me? (preferably the older, backwards compatible 20/60GB ones, but I could settle for any version at this point) I'm getting a PS Vita so I want to use the cross-platform thing, but most of the ones on ebay are broken, super expensive, or not shipped internationally. If you find something, let me know and maybe I can ask my cousin in Arizona to seize it for me and have it sent along with the quarterly cargo boxes. Haha
(Gah... Played PS3 at a cyber cafe during my summer break, and I can't believe I didn't try harder to get my parents to buy me one. T o T)

I was going to catch up with Naruto and BLEACH, but really, they're kinda filler-ish still. Well, mostly BLEACH is. Hmph...

PS: Well, I can't come back until 2013 or 2014 at earliest, and quite possibly not til 2018! :OOO I'm transferring to another school next year to do a fast-track med school program that's only 6 years all together, so... yeah, I'd be back on track to get a bachelors degree by 2014. Then I'd go back to the US for residency somewhere, but I'm going to look for med schools in Australia during my semester/winter break next year. So... Yeah. Like I said before, keep the manga! (Or do whatever with them)
I just looked up some of the new stuff, and I think I'm going to start these ones: Blood-C, No. 6, Usagi Drop, Last Exile 2 (and 1, I suppose), Natsume Yuujin-Chou (and the other ones?), Kamisama Dolls, Kami-sama no Memo-Chou, Dantalian no Shoka, and Mawaru Penguin Drum...
Then, possibly these ones, but I'm not sure: Mayo Chiki, Morita-san wa Mukuchi, Sacred Seven, Double J, and R-15...
That's... like all of them. Haha. I haven't read into the plot descriptions besides the two sentences by the promo-picture from this one site I randomly found on Google. But, yeah... Seems like there won't really be a super-favorite series for me this season, though that penguin one is piquing my interest because it's apparently done by the person who did Sailor Moon... (Then again, I liked Sailor Moon when I was really little, so I might not like it as much now...)
Anyway, what's on your list? :O
