My favorite kind the anime is gore and comedy, like Elfen Lied or Seitokai Yakuindomo, in the moment i watch Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin, a pretty story. u.u
I feel for you. I somehow feel like I ought to be embarrassed of watching anime, though many of my friends will gleefully attest to being addicted to western TV shows. And the "all anime is porn" stereotype is just weird. Well, I guess they just don't know what they are missing.
You may not know of this site, but it's what I use to find what anime is airing and when. http://anichart.net/spring
It's very accurate and pretty well designed. According to the site, Owari no Seraph airs in 5 more days, making it a Saturday. Depending upon the fansubbers, it could air either Saturday night or Sunday.
No worries. Truthfully I like giving advice on anime and manga. I started reading manga and watching anime as a complete newbie just at the start of college but got obsessed with Japanese culture, buddhist traditions, the tea culture, high school life and so on. Now I'm quite pasionate about otaku stuff, but there are no otaku who can discuss stuff with me here. Most only go so far as reading the big three - (I guess Fairy Tail, One Piece and bleach now.)I was always a fan of shoujo and slice-of-life shows. If you have anything you want to ask, don't hesitate to ask me.
Owari no Seraph is still pretty good. The pacing is a bit slow, but I really like the team dynamics. I guess you are yet to reach that bit. Don't worry, this is no spoiler.
To begin with I can't see anything on your list that belongs to the same genre as Nisekoi (which I would classify as a slice-of-life harem high school manga.) Ore no nounai sentakushi ga... is the closest, but Nisekoi really does not compare.
If you are going to read/watch Nisekoi, I would recommend watching it. It really does not have a very good storyline or any particularly well-thought-out use of the manga as a medium. Watching it with its good animation and decent OST would leave a better impression on you. I don't watch it because frankly I don't think the story is interesting enough to sit through. It simply chronicles the many daily situation the MC gets into with the several girls who are somehow involved with him, all the while not confessing to the one girl he does like. It's good at first, but starts going downhill pretty soon.
I would honestly advise you to skip it for now and watch something else instead. Off the top of my head, I'd say Bakemonogatari (also a harem anime animated by studio SHAFT) would be much more interesting. If it's shoujo manga you want to read, get into some perennials like Love so Life, Orange Marmalade or Last Game. If you want to try slice-of life, read Yotsubato (excellent) or Barakamon (I loved this) or watch Nichijou or Non Non Biyori. All of these are much more worth your time and more diverse than Nisekoi could ever hope to be in the time you would have to invest on reading/watching it. Also, just from a casual glance at your favourites, I'd say there is little chance you will enjoy Nisekoi.
How's Owari no Seraph treating you so far? I've caught up with the manga and I'm liking it. I always have a soft spot in my heart for humans fighting mythical monsters or aliens.
One last thing, if you really like Magi and Soul Eater, I honestly think you would like One Piece. There's a huge wall to climb before you really enter the awesome side of One Piece (mainly the 'unique' art style, the slow pacing, the fact that the journey only really starts 100 chapters into the manga and so on) but it is a very good adventure manga with an interesting world, and good characters and lots of awesome moments. Like other shounen, it sometimes relies on giving the MC unique powers, but not as much as Naruto or Bleach. Let me end this homage to Oda sensei by saying this, this is the only manga in which I've nearly cried at the 'death' of a ship. Also, this is much more worth your time than Nisekoi (in my opinion.)
Tell me what you choose to do. I'm honestly interested. And sorry for the long post.
Lol good idea, when I start something good I always finish it asap. Then when I finish I'll always spend like several days trying to find something good again. It's an endless cycle. @.@
Oh cool, how are you liking it so far? When I started to watch it, I couldn't stop since it was so good, and did an anime marathon for 2 days and finished it. Lol
