I enjoyed the first series of Mamotte! Lollipop, and I truly ship Zero and Nina, so I went into the sequel with quite high expectation... only to be back with a sour taste in my soul.

To be fair, it probably fell flat to my face because a full romance story are never really my favorite genre, but this sequel still feel a bit too much. I honestly regret ever trying to read this sequel. It might be better if I just read the first series and just leave it at that.

This series literally doesn't tell any story aside from the romantic life of the ... characters. I read this quite a while ago so I don't really remember, but for some reason Zero and the crew are back to earth to do another exam, and just like before, dragged Nina into their problem. Not weird, though, since now she's officially Zero's gf. But yeah, the story is just that. Completely identical to the sequel.

Well it also told the story about how Nina getting into Zero's family, but that arc is so silly I seriously can't feel anything for her.

It's still the same to the previous series. It's decent, and the design of some new characters are good, nothing much can be said on this aspect.

The thing about this sequel is, as I've said above,the story completely identical to the first, aside from the fact that our main couple finally realized their feelings toward each other. And so, all the cast already have their character established. This resulted in the reader already able to guess what the characters are going to do, and thus created a boring reading experience. In other word, no character development for a whole 6 volumes.

And as I stated before, Nina already realized that her heart is attracted to Zero, and now she's actively seeking affection from him. Or should I say... aggresively. This is actually the worst downfall in this manga for me. Nina literally reduced to a slut that can only think about her significant others all the time. And for some reason Ichii still had his eyes on her, and at some point trying to seduce her... and succeed. Her behaviour is just so silly and irritating it instantly reduced her character worth in my eyes.

It had so much downfall that I wasn't sure if I want to finished this or not, but ultimately, I still managed to read all of it. The series is silly, but the humour aspect is good and still enjoyable. I do like the art too, one of the reason why I picked the original series in the first place.

Overall, I give this manga 6/10. It wasn't a pleasant experience, I had to cringe several times when I read it, and tbh I stil regret reading it. If you like the first series, I suggest to just accept the ending and leave it at that. There's nothing to gain to read this sequel.

Hakobune Hakusho is a great manga that tell a simple story with amazing approach. I found it one day when I was lurking around on a bookstore with no goal in mind, and I truly glad I decided to pick this one.

The story is quite simple, it's about a girl named Neko Fukuta that just accepted in a 'shady' highschool after being declined in other school she's tried. It is shady because the school literally built in the middle of nowhere, right in the center of ... a mountain. The entrance exam consisted of test that should've be addressed to elementary school student. And when they finally come to the school, all they need to do is show their invitation letter, and bam, you're officially a student.

However, Fukuta has been declined to so many other schools before that she didn't really care what kind of highschool she managed to get by. And when she finally get accepted, she found out... that this school is actually means for animal who're trying to become a human.

This manga basically follow how Fukuta spend her life in this school. It's amusing because she literally didn't interact with fellow human being, but rather animal disguised in human form. Naturally, she has to hide the fact that she's actually a human, and because of that her friends sees her as some kind of 'genius'. Like, she was able to open the door by turning the knob, etc etc.

The story move pretty slow and reading it somehow giving me a sense of relaxation. It's fun, it's heartwarming, and when the plot moves and a problem arise, it'll hit you at unexpected timing.

It has a pretty art. The design is simple but somehow left a deep impression. My favorite character is a cat named Miiko. She took a form of petite girl with pretty blue eyes and curly hair. Her design is so cute you can't help but just love her. Other characters also have their own unique attribute, had their own peculiar personality, you can't help but get attached to them. I actually read this manga a few years ago, and I still remember the story and every character clearly.

Overall, this is a great manga and if you're looking for something to relax on, I'll definitely recommend this. However, it literally had near zero action so if you're looking for thrill, this manga probably not for you.
