Score explanations
Like everyone I have my own quirks when it comes to giving out scores. I'll list them here to hopefully make sense of my way of thinking.
- I give a score to 'an entire show'. I don't give different seasons different scores even if I thought the quality was different. As an example, the first season of Psycho-Pass is way better than the second season but I give "Psycho-Pass" as a whole a score and every season, OVA, ONA, Special and Movie in the series gets the same score. Rare exceptions do exist for something like a spin-off that I feel is far enough removed from the original series, like Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu.
- I hold back a lot when giving out a '10' as well as giving out a '1'. So every anime with one of those scores is genuinely special...for better or for worse. The other scores I don't hold back on giving out, there isn't any 'gatekeeping' with those.
- Persona 3 / 4 / 5 are my favorite video games of all time. Instead of giving out a score to the anime adaptations for these games I leave them scoreless. Just giving them a 10 because I love the games with all my heart feels weird and unfair as I'm not even judging the adaptation on it's own. I'm also far too biased to give these anything other than the highest score if I had to give them one, so scoreless they will remain.
