Good time to review another rapey yaoi, with some non-con and compulsion. Everyone has probably already talked about this problem in Junjou Romantica, a show that is not ashamed to show sexual harassment in the first minutes. But now it will be about Love Stage. The plot is generally not bad, it really does have what could be called a model of simplified gender intrigue.

Izumi is sitting and crying in the room. His brother comes over and says it's normal for him to get excited as he licks his nipples. Logic and realism finally left this anime. What happens next is nothing wrong and interesting. Plain romcom.
Characters
Typical character yaoi archetypes. Izumi's brother and boyfriend are okay and they are probably the best people in this anime. Izumi, a little infantile kid who grows confident in the end. Ryoma scares me. The rich man from the elite pays attention to someone more ordinary (although Izumi comes from a wealthy family, he is considered a loser). He's supposedly trying to help Izumi and be nice, but this incident scares me.
Art
I don't like lips and eyes, the colors are terrible and my eyes hurt. Everything sparkles. But overall it's not bad.
Enjoyment
Very average. Such meh ... It's funny at times, but the romance still fails.

Yes, yes, yes I am the bad person that gives this movie not the highest rating. Because I probably like toxic BL (as you can see in my list, no) or I'm homophobic. But I want to explain it.
Story (5);
ABSOLUTELY does not stick together. I read the manga over a year ago. And even in it, there were moments that were unexplained or unfinished. But in this movie, the events are not logically related. They are very cut and fast. And yes. The thing that makes this movie think this movie is great. Supposedly it presents a REALISTIC love story. And I want to explain

something. Yes, this is not Junjou, Sekaiichi, Love Stage where we have harassment and abusive overtone. But just because Umibe no Étranger is NOT toxic in ANY aspect, it doesn't make it realistic either. And why am I saying that? Because we have two tons of similar stories like this, in shoujo and shoujo-ai genres that people call "sterile", "vanilla" and no one calls it a realistic story. And in this case, it is realistic because it takes place between two boys? It may not be harmful, it does not spread bad stereotypes, but it cannot be portrayed the way most people do. I'm sorry.
Characters (6);
The main characters are okay. Sometimes, and especially at first, they seem a bit infantile, but over time they get over it. I really liked not the main couple, but the characters that accompany them. They are quite good and I liked them.

The best part of the movie. Wonderful. The prettiest BL I've ever seen. Perfectly drawn elements of nature.
Summarizing. You can compare this movie to Classmate. Because they are quite similar. But I didn't like it that much. Better than popular, mainstream BLs but I don't share a popular opinion about it.

Maid Sama is a typical product of its time. Just like shounen-ai or yuri, there is no healthy relationship. We have a typical circus here, where the characters will shout, beat each other, challenge each other and act as if they were 5 years old.
After all, there are only abusive relationships and typically sweet sterile relationships, where the characters are cardboard puppets of the creator. Don't you think so, romcom makers?)

Fine. There is nothing bad or outstanding here.

Also okay. I like this opening theme and the other soundtrack is fine.

Jesus Christ. I HATE Usui. Usui is a typical popular schoolboy. He is

popular because .. he is popular? He deals with the fact that he is stalking the main girl. ALL THE TIME. Also, if they are together somewhere, there will always be a circus on wheels. It is so obnoxious because ... it is obnoxious. I totally don't know his motivation. It is not clear.
Misaki is a typical tsundere that is not as obnoxious as Taiga, but it annoys at times. She is a confident, aggressive, and not the shoujo type of girl who gets pushed around by herself and endures the mistreatment of her boyfriend. Although Misaki and Usui are also typical shoujo archetypes of behavior.
Story (5-4)
This is typical character school life. This is what happens in most romcoms. Without anything surprising (well except maybe a thread with some of Misaki's pursuers, despite Usui, lol)
Is the story romantic?
Hmmmm ... No? I don't see anything romantic or healthy here. Of course, this is not the Itazura no kiss level. Maybe there are moments, but it doesn't sound like it all.
Comedy?
If you like classic humor straight from the 2000s, such as Lovely Comlpex, Toradora, this one will suit you. Some moments made me laugh, especially when Usui jumps off the school roof.
Impressions (4-5)
Pretty average, but not too bad. Let's be honest.

Ten Count is a great example of how to ruin a good idea with stereotypical yaoi stuff.
Story
The topic discussed at the beginning is quite original, because it gives a field for showing off and developing the topic well, but well not in this life.
The first two volumes are quite neat, because we have psychological motives here, including work with a psychologist i.t.d. The subject is well developed and then it flies down at the speed of light. Yes, the typical yaoi pwp starts. Plot what plot? The next two volumes are typical bad yaoi porn, in which seme looks like he has no emotions
...
and was a soulless, deaf stone, and uke also begins to show typical stereotypical character traits. In Volume 5, at least we have the reason why the main character suffers from misophobia. Okay, at least we got it, but it's a shame it didn't get further developed. I cannot say anything bad about the last volume neither good too.
Characters
Due to the fact that they lack depth and more detailed presentation. Although the main character overcomes his problem, he does it in such a strange and non-realistic way that I have no words. There is no question of any good representation of misophobia. And the second, although it intrigued me, his character is actually quite damaged.
Art
Fairly well done, but it does disappoint a bit sometimes, especially towards the end.
summarizing
The story had a lot of potentials, but oh well. It was destroyed by the author who, apart from this series, has some really good manga, but they aren't very popular. Maybe she just wanted someone to be interested in this series. Bad idea. But maybe she just didn't know what to do with the plot. It's a shame.

Spoilers ahead
Okay. It's time to break this parade of positive opinions. I started reading this because as an anime it seemed to be more interesting than JR. And at first, the story seemed not so horrible. Here we have a typical story of an old lost love from high school, which the protagonist meets after many years.
Doesn't that seem bad? Truth?
The chapters that have been adapted into two anime seasons are quite good. They have something intriguing about them. But then it just gets cyclical and boring. But, ok, I read it until chapter 29, in which Namakura ran out of ideas, and decided it
...
would be a good idea to rape the main character. Let's be honest, she has never had much passion for writing about healthy relationships, but she has already completely lost here. After this chapter, she decides to introduce another rape attempt on Ritsu
(it was loud on the internet with fans after that, but well, I only found out about it recently) then I just shut it down and that's it. I'm not going to go back to that. Using this kind of twists only speaks of the author's creative impotence.
Now back to couples.
Erotica:
The best couple that Namakura has made, due to the fact that they are adequate people who don't have any serious problems, are nice enough, aren't toxic of some kind, and they trust each other, it's okay, okay.
Domestica:
I don't remember anything about them, except that one of them raped someone in some novel about them.
Nostalgia:
Oh god, where do I start? Onodera Ritsu is by far the poorest of uke. He's just undecided for everything he does, all the time hysterical and obnoxious, but I'm not going to blame him for anything now, especially for being a victim. Because it's a horribly disgusting thing.
Ok? Takano seems to be a funny guy who, like Tom from the cartoon about Tom and Jerry, runs after the main character over and over again. Their relationship is similar to that. But the problem is that he insults Ritsu. He doesn't listen to what he has to say. and cuts him off for full-time. He's quite narcissistic. It's just not okay because it hasn't been changed throughout the manga. Totally unchanged and it pisses me off, ok? It is a pity that for this whole story, which is practically ending (because Ritsu is supposed to fall in love with him in 20 days), and their relationship seems to be completely ruined. Namakura are you ok?
The art is pretty nice in the last chapters, and in general, it doesn't skip me too much, but it doesn't save the fact that the plot is already ruined, because the author totally doesn't know what to do with the story.
This is where my soul scream ends, and it's a real shame that Namakura, like JR's, doesn't have very good plot ideas.
