Oh yeah, Shimanami Tasogare is another one that is hyper hyped just because the characters aren't straigh. Similar to Umibe, the visuals are cool but the story is just... plain. I've reviewed that one too, heh.

Yep, while I prefer it over the toxic ones (this is at least watchable without dying of cringe), the story just doesn't hold up. Way too many things are just skimmed over.

Though, to an extent, it is a "realistic" story. Which doesn't mean it is entertaining. A movie about a working shift of a supermarket worker would be realistic, but also repetitive and boring. Just "realistic" alone doesn't mean it is good.
