Let me start off by saying: I LIKED TO LOVE RU. Ok so, this is not gonna be a legit review of this series, I just felt like i needed to say some things about it.

After watching 70+ episodes of To love ru I can say that I just got tired of it. And I have 2 reasons as to why.

First, The main character. i just can't take him seriously, you would think after so many episodes he would get used to seeing all of the girls' naked bodies, but no. Also he doesn't realise that 90% of the girls want his D. Like, Lala ... has straight up told him that she likes him, but he just doesn't make any progress with her because he's not sure about his feelings or some BS, like dude. And I know this series is targeted for a younger audience but still, I think they could have managed it much better imo.

And secondly, The anime just got wayyyy too repetitive. Like it was funny at the start, but every episode is almost the exact same, Rito falling headfirst into a girl's panties. That's it.

But the good thing about this series is, The first season of darkness actually has a decent plot and also great "plot" so that's that I guess.

Anyway, I dont wanna be salty about some echii anime on the internet, so I'll just leave it at that

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no shichinin has to be one of the best anime I've ever seen. It's the perfect example of a dark story done perfectly, with its tragic story and characters, it's definetely not a show that will make you feel happy.

Story: 10/10
The story is about 6 teenagers who have been convicted of crimes like assault, murder, theft, e.t.c. They are sent to a prison where they meet 18 year old Sakuragi Rokurouta and they slowly establish a bond with him. Inside the prison, our main characters are greeted with a doctor who is secretely a rapist and a security guard who wants to ... screw Sakuragi over as much as possible. As this is a spoiler free review, i'm not going to say if the escape from the prison or not, but what i will say is that there's a lot of twists in this story both happy and depressing. That's why I think this story is perfect in every aspect.

Characters: 10/10
While the story of Rainbow is excellent, I definetely think that the characters is the best part about this anime. All these terrible things they go through throughout the anime (and the manga) make you sympathize with them on a personal level. Because in most anime, the characters always find a way to deal with their problems, but in Rainbow that's not always the case. It's like life itself is trying to screw them over and that's what makes these characters so human

Music 10/10
The opening of Rainbow has to be my favourite anime opening ever. I'm a huge fan of the band behind it (coldrain) and it fits perfectly with the anime's dark and serious tone. The ED and OST are also really good and again, are a perfect match with the anime.

Art 10/10
Madhouse never ceases to amaze me, with it's beautiful animation and art, it captures the original manga's feel perfectly

Overall, I think rainbow is a hidden gem that need more recognition. It's sad that it didn't get popular enough for a season 2, but that's to be expected as this type of anime is not for everyone.
