Many of the Originals I watched mostly failed but Tsuki ga Kirei is something that exceeded my expectations, in a very beautiful manner. This is the second original that touched me a lot(after True Tears).

The title is a beautiful wordplay on one of Natsume Souseki's quotes. When I first heard of the title, I was afraid of it failing but I'm glad it swept me off my feet.

Story: 10/10

Tsuki ga Kirei revolves around 2 characters, Azumi Kotarou and Mizuno Akane, who both were in their 3rd and final year in middle school. Kotarou and Akane fell in love with one another and the anime ... tells the stories of their successes and failures during their relationship, how much the characters who knew nothing about love, slowly growing up from failures and bloom into wonderful people.

Character development were very well paced, and the anime didn't felt rushed at all. In fact, the pacing is one of the best I've ever seen in an original. Tsuki ga Kirei hits very close to home for me because I once experienced the same thing before, which brought up bittersweet memories. Kotarou and Akane developed and mature beautifully throughout the series.

Sound: 10/10

The choice of music used was perfect as well, as it invokes a lot of nostalgia factor(I ain't that old yet but have listened to those music before and loved them). With that, I haven't been listening to those songs for a while now but because of this series, I'm starting to listen to them again.

Art: 10/10

In the beginning, I couldn't get used to the coloring because I thought it was kinda a lazy manner to do it(the shadows were pretty unnatural) but as the series goes, I begin to understand and appreciate the style used for this series and I have to say I loved it a lot. Great character designs for the characters especially the MCs Kotarou and Akane. It mashes very well with the music used and the story told.

Enjoyment: 10/10

Overall, I can say I enjoyed it a lot, one reason being because it hits extremely close to home for me. It's a little painful to watch because of it, but nonetheless, it's a very beautiful series done by feel, who have done quite a few great anime. This is the second original that I loved a lot and it ranks very close to first, which was True Tears. I definitely would recommend everyone to watch this if they are looking for great romance stories.

Kuzu no Honkai is surely the underdog of the Winter 2017 season. This anime is not your ordinary romance anime. It delves into the darkness of the human soul, what people find the most uncomfortable(unless they have a NTR fetish).

This series touches me in a very unconventional manner: It dares to challenge and explore the depths of the human soul, how ugly one can get in romance. Throughout the entire series, we see how ugly the characters are: their personality, their attitude and also the selfish desire of possessiveness. As the series get by, we slowly see how the characters mature while handling the ... scars they had. The art and sound weren't particularly outstanding or noteworthy except the good choice of song used for the ED. Characters developed wonderfully, pacing was not too fast nor slow. In overall, I enjoy the series a lot and feel like we need more stuff that dares to go out of its comfort zone.

This is the first review I'm going to write, and probably the only review unless I can find another anime that will make me re-watch this 8 or more times in a row.

Okada Mari delivered her forte again: Romance and coming of age story. I'll write this review on my perspective so feel free to agree/disagree. It doesn't matter to me since I ain't some professional critic and only writing this because I love the series a lot.

Story: 10/10

Story was pretty well developed with it starting how Jun became the girl she was. She made an attempt to escape from reality, encountered many problems ... in school and got encouraged to speak again. The journey of her recovering her courage to speak again was pretty touching, it wasn't too rushed nor slow. The pacing for this series was perfect in my opinion I'll say Okada Mari delivered another masterpiece.

Characters: 10/10

Pretty realistic characters with very realistic developments. None of the bullshit where they beautify the setting. Character interactions were realistic and that brings out the individual charm of the entire cast. Throughout the series, we see how the 4 main characters actually developed. Each and every one of them being inspired by Jun to convey what they want to say into words instead of bottling up and regretting. Again, the development of the characters were pretty well paced out, thus making the story flow even better.

Art: 10/10

I love the character design here. As expected from Tanaka who also did the character designs for Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, Ano Natsu de Matteru and the upcoming Kimi no Na wa, just to name a few. I can't find any faults here. The character designs were appropriate for the series.

Sound: 10/10

This is probably the best part of the show besides the story. The music rendition of Beethoven's 8th Piano Sonata, Over the rainbow, Greensleeves etc... were all wonderful. Having been part of musicals, and the choral team myself during my school years, I'll say this is wonderfully done. Masaru and Jin did spectacularly in this department. It wouldn't be an overstatement to say the music is one reason why I love this series a lot. Since the story centers around the musical, this department must be well executed for the movie to be that good for me to keep re-watching it. I even bought the OST along with the BD because the music was just too good.

Lastly, with the above ratings, there is no prize as to how much I enjoyed it - for I wouldn't re-watch this series 10 times(as of this point of writing) if I didn't enjoy. I'll probably say enjoy may be an understatement, it's more like this movie have been ingrained into my life. This series is the first movie that made it into my favorites and it'll be there forever.
