Koukyuu no Karasu

While Raven of the Inner Palace leans towards romance and Mononoke horror, the subject matter is quite similar. Both have to do with helping spirits move on and releasing bad energy created from unfortunate circumstances that happened to people in life. The main characters in both anime have a mysterious aura and supernatural abilities that allow them to relieve spiritual baggage.

If you value a lot of comedy in your romcoms as well as a lot of chemistry between the main romantic interests I’d say either one of these shows are up your alley. Both are set in high school but don’t feel childish like a lot of high school romances do, and both made me laugh as much as root for the romance. A highlight of both series is also their supporting casts of characters who add just as much to the shows as their respective main couplings.

White Album 2

While watching White Album 2 I got a lot of the same overall feeling that I felt during Kids on the Slope. They are both musically themed shows that tell anything but neat stories of love and friendship. The characters connect over a shared love of playing music together and the stories feel more mature than a lot of other school based romances.
