Dance with Devils, a reverse-harem; a genre which is dictated by it's bland, dumb heroines and stereotypical love interests. Although Dance with Devils is nothing I would call original, it is better than the likes of UtaPri, Brothers Conflict, Amnesia and all the other sad reverse harem out there.
STORY(5/10): Dance with Devils is an anime I suggest you keep for a day when you've got no other anime to watch and you want to kill time. It's an anime that can be lame at times what with its out-of-place timing with songs, which are-by the way-supposed to tell us more about the character singing the
...
song as is typical of any musical but the songs in this anime all go on about how much a particular character desires the MC Ritsuka.
The redeeming features? Well for one, there is actually a decent romance for the MC and she isn't exactly hooking up with all the boys in the anime. That in itself is an improvement for an anime in this genre.
And guess what? The heroine actually ends up with ONE guy instead of leaving an inconclusive end to the romance.
Again, there is nothing too extraordinary about the plot which is quite predictable but you wouldn't get bored though and some episodes might actually keep you interested enough to know what's going to happen in the next one.
ART(8/10): The art for this anime is decent. It's pretty to look at and rich in color. The character designs are also not half bad.
SOUND(7/10): The sound is a conflict. While I never skipped the addicting OP and ED song, the character songs in every episode range from only bearable to highly absurd. There are two character songs I did like in the series, but overall, the lyrics are terrible and make you laugh and point at the screen going "Lame!". If you don't like characters suddenly bursting into songs in the middle of serious situations you can always skip the songs. You would hardly miss anything if you do.
CHARACTER(6/10): If you've had the pleasure of watching Diabolik Lovers and Amnesia *cough sarcasm cough* you'd know they posess two of the most interestingly bland heroines you'll ever come across. They have no will of their own and they do what others want them to do. But we're not talking about other anime. Let's get back to the heroine of this anime. Ritsuka Tachibana, as a heroine isn't special. She isn't someone powerful and very often needs to be saved by one of the boys.
But if there is one thing people who watch reverse harem will agree with me on, it is that this MC right here actually has a will of her own. She makes her own decisions(no matter if they are always stupid and reckless) and she can stand up to the guys if she wants. She just doesn't let anyone have their way with her without a struggle, no matter how small or insignificant that struggle is.
And even though, more than half of the times she is protected by the boys, there are a few moments where Ritsuka saves herself. These traits, do make her a bearable(if not likeable) main heroine.
The guys involved in this reverse harem are stereotypes ranging from the quiet one to the yandere. From the playboy to the masochist. You have them all but my favourite is Rem(the quiet one) for he really does love Ritsuka(as does Lindo) and protects her from the sidelines like a shadow.
OVERALL ENJOYMENT(6/10): Save it for a day when you've got nothing to do and you don't want to watch too stressful of an anime. I wasn't bored throughout this anime, even for a second, and actually got a few snickers out of it at the lame character songs.

As an avid fan of the first season, I expected this season to be as amazing as the first and I'm very happy to admit that Noragami Aragoto did not disappiont.
STORY(8/10):
I haven't read the manga so I don't know if the second season follows the manga, but there is everything in this department which you loved about the first season. Action, comedy, romance(more than the first season *wink wink*) and....YATO! The story is divided into two major arcs. The first arc centers around Bishamon and the second arc around Ebisu, a God of Commerce/Fortune. The first arc is pretty well done. Also the
...
action and the fighting scenes are amazingly handled. The second arc simmers down for me a bit but it is in no way lacking. Sure, the tension and the grabbing-the-edge-of-your-seat feeling takes time to build to finally climax into a good end but the first arc is better.
ART (10/10): The visuals for Noragami are beautiful and pleasing to look at. Everything from the background to the character designs is handled perfectly and shows intricacy. The eyes are alluring especially Yato's incandescent ones.
SOUND (9/10): As was typical of the first season, an amazing OST has been provided to us in Aragoto. The OP carries the same upbeat tunes and adrenaline rushing effects as was true for the OP of season 1. The ED is fluid and calming.
CHARACTER(10/10): For most anime nowadays, I think this is a tricky goal to achieve. Usually you can't make all the characters perfectly lovable and sometimes an attempt to "sweeten" up some characters tends to have the opposite effect making them unbearably obnoxious. Noragami here, I have to say, has some of the most amazing characters I have come across in anime. Yato, Hiyori, Yukine, Bishamon, Kofuku, Ebisu; you name it. Every character(even the Gods) are characterized beautifully and are sometimes found to show surprisingly humane flaws which is a good thing as this might help you relate more with the character at hand and sympathize with them. Also the humor you get out of these characters is bound to make you at least smile if not laugh once in awhile.
OVERALL ENJOYMENT (9/10): While my review sings praises for this anime, I have not supplied it with a 10 because I think it is reserved for an almost perfectly flawless anime which, in all fairness to Noragami, aren't that easy to find; at least not in my opinion. So even though, Aragoto has been an enjoyable ride there were places I feel could have been improved upon. Like the anime has kind of an inconclusive end(which very well may be a third season advertising) but things aren't as neatly tied up and presented to the viewers as I would've liked it too. I won't mention what events didn't receive a perfect conclusion but there are pointers that were left unexplained.
Nevertheless, this sequel is not one to miss if you loved the first season. This anime promises you an enthralling ride.

Well, you're going to see my score and think to yourself, this person is pretty much insane. How can this person not see how "beautiful" this anime is? Well, please allow me to write up a review that may or may not justify my score.
STORY: (3/10) The premise is actually what pulled me in, and seeing that it had such a high score on MAL as a romance anime and was brimming with 9 or 10 starred reviews, I went in thinking I wouldn't be disappointed. The first thirteen or so episodes actually don't disappoint, and I kept waiting for them to explain pointers and
...
plot lines which, unfortunately, to the end remain unexplained. As you can read in the synopsis of NagiAsu, the premise is very interesting, what with people who live on land and in the sea, but as the episodes progress you begin to notice the plot holes that just continue to become bigger and glaringly obvious to the point you can't just ignore them and that is the downfall of NagiAsu.
The second thing is the romance, it is one of the most poorly done romances I have ever come across in anime. There is NO development whatsoever and every episodes just seems to add new characters to the list of the complicated as heck "romance". The romance of this anime doesn't move an inch from the first ep through to the 26th ep. No. Frickin. Development. It's all just a very big, very complicated LOVE OCTAGON if I had to summarize it.
Also the romance completely shadows over the actual plot and everything is so half-baked and sloppily handled in the story department I don't know how it ranks on #160.
If there is redeeming feature about the plot, it is the feels that this anime sometimes manages to provide. Of course if you love the romance, you'd find yourself getting feelsy over it loads of times, but what got me to shed a tear; one tiny little tear was a certain incident concerning Akari and her dad.
That's about it.
ART:(10/10) The art to say the least is breath-takingly beautiful with the backgrounds and the character designs showing such detail and intricacy it makes you wonder if they ended up focusing on the art rather than on the story.
SOUND: (6/10) The sound was decent. The OP and ED songs might be considered beautiful and touching by people who enjoy slow songs but I don't so that's that I guess.
CHARACTER: (7/10) In my opinion, the feature that saved this anime from being a complete train wreck were it's characters. They aren't anything original what with Hikari being your typical tsundere who yells at anything and everything but he gets better; though not completely cured of his jerk habits. He is my least favourite.
My most favourite character is Chisaki because I could relate to her in a way I didn't relate to any other character. Everything she stands for as a person, I find those traits in myself which makes her a character close to my heart.
In the same way, the other characters were all somehow relateable and you don't particularly end up hating anyone except if you have no patience for indecisiveness you might end up hating these characters alot.
OVERALL ENJOYMENT:(5/10) I can't really rate the enjoyment portion in a linear manner. The first 13 episodes have an enjoyment rate of 7/10; the later half rapidly deteriorates to a 4/10 because it just gets so annoying and frustrating, the stupid love octagon where everyone is in love with the other who is in love with someone else and so it just continues in this frustrating manner until a happy ending is slapped into our faces with an inconclusive love octagon.
In the end, a feature I forgot to mention, what was with all the "running away after learning a shocking truth" writers? It made me laugh and really destroyed whatever mood the situation had managed to get me in.

So this is my first review on MAL, so I'll probably be stumbling around at a few places but anyway, please give this a read too before you pass by.
Okay, so I'll start with the basics.
STORY: (7/10) The premise and the setting is pretty interesting and the first-half of the anime had a 9/10 score from me. Despite many people saying that this is an exact copy of Angel Beats(which it is at some parts), this isn't completely true. The anime has it's own plot line and it's very engaging. Despite how the story begins on a rather cheerful note, with Yuu
...
being a character who doesn't care two pence about anything and has quite a rotten personality to begin with is sucked into this world where he learns that kids with supernatural abilities like himself do exist, the story underlies darker themes. Well, I don't need to explain more. You can read the Summary provided by MAL for yourself.
The main problem I found with the story as I mentioned earlier is that, this story has POTENTIAL. So much potential and so much to tell us. And stuffing all that into a 12-episode anime isn't doing the story justice. The result was that the second half was so rushed, at the end, I felt like I had been picked up from one corner of the Earth and dropped onto the opposite corner. That was how fast things changed. The only major problem with this anime was it's awful pacing, otherwise I'm sure it would've been a success with more episodes to let it develop through to it's full potential.
ART(10/10) and SOUND(9/10): Art as usual was amazing and beautiful. Sound was perfect and the opening for CHARLOTTE is one of my favorites.
CHARACTER(8/10): Yuu our main character had decent character development through the series in my opinion. At the end, I had a tiny crush on him lol.
The other characters that comprise of Nao, Yusa, Ayumi and many others were also likeable. Ayumi particularly is an adorable character, which is a surprise for me, considering I really don't like those innocent, cute sort of characters.
OVERALL ENJOYMENT(7/10): There wasn't a moment of boredom for me while watching this anime and I enjoyed it, despite the fact that I was mentally going "Woahhh you need to slow down. This is happening too fast! Oh wait. OMG"
Well we can also say that the second-half was like a whirlwind. Overall, an enjoyable ride. And as expected from the creator of Angel Beats, this anime will play with your feels so be ready!
