It gets off to a really bizarre start in all the things that you might be used to, taking a horribly wrong turn. I think that's a good idea in general, but it was executed poorly in this manga. I'm one for the chaos of everything that seems great in theory going wrong, but the manga handled in a very lazy way.
You see the main female character naked very early on, and I'm a fan of treating nudity as something human, but you only see her naked. the lead male character is probably the exact opposite of what anyone else would do in any
...
similar situation. These are the two major components of the dream come true gone wrong for any teenage cisgender heterosexual boy that would love to spend a lot of time with the sexy heterosexual cisgender lady. this went down the very run of the mill path of "for some reason the male character's parents are gone from the house and for some reason this grown woman has to live with this teenager."
Feelings are developed, but then awkwardly addressed and or not addressed at all which leads to passive aggressive and petty behavior. Not so much jealously, which is common fair in these kinds of things between the other female characters. It was refreshing to see that, to say the least. and on the other hand, if you're not into everyone always having this happy-go-lucky slapstick romance with a fairy tale ending, this might be your thing. It also airs on the side of caution of being too dramatic and the characters taking themselves too seriously most of the time. Honestly, that is my thing, but otherwise the characters and events are very uneventful. For the theme and what they decide to do with the characters, the manga is too long.

It's mediocre at best, and obviously very cheaply made. people will argue that is not supposed to be taken seriously, and I agree with that in terms of story and characters. but it's also not to be taken seriously as a whole production due to the lack of quality. people always want something out of the entertainment, and I don't know what this anime was going for. The girls are cheap Moes that are too cheap to be cute. they're all carbon cut out stereotypes or Archtypes. Whatever word you want to use.
I appreciate that there's no fan service or Romance. There is some
...
violence but it's not gratuitous, and that's fine too. We shouldn't have a female cast not relying on fan service and romance to be entertaining, but there's no kind of substance to the production. I don't feel inspired to watch anything elf made by anyone connected to the staff of this project, unless they were connected with a much bigger name, and I didn't know they were affiliated.
There are scenes of scenery use to replace motion. They didn't have much budget to animated, but the art is fine. the characters could have at least been cuter and the colors more vibrant and eye-catching. It's supposed to be a comedy but nothing about it is funny. Everything about this is bland. and it has the audacity to have some problematic elements of girls making negative comments about other girls bodies. They could have taken out the "comedy" and making made it a cheap moe Slice of Life, and at least it wouldn't been been insulting.
Why make this? Why use the resources time and money to make this? I know every artistic expression is a fantasy come to forwishen, but this should have stayed as a 4coma.

I watched the anime first, and came over to the manga, because the anime ended as the action was about to start. Little did I know, the action doesn't end, but not to it's benefit. I feel like the story drags out to very unnecessary lengths. They adding new characters and situations, and it seems like the people that made this don't want the story to end.
And the pacing is awful. They used the same pacing in the anime, which is more tolerable in that medium, but in magna, it's frustrating.
As much as I enjoy the story, I don't like things that drag on. A
...
spin-off started before they even have the main story finished, and that's weird to me. How would the spin-off not have spoilers from the main story that isn't finished, yet?
I gave it an enjoyment a 7 and the overall a 9, because I enjoy the characters and the story, for the most part. I just dislike how they're dragging out every detail, the pacing, and that a story that could have ended a long time ago is still going. They could have made this a successful short story.

I thought Gangsta was cool. The story telling of the characters' backstories was a lot more all over the place than comfortable, but I kept up. At first the start giving you little pieces, and than suddenly flood you with stuff! And, a personal pet-pev, they introduced new characters at the very end. The opening and ending themes are entertaining, but thy didn't have a good range of tracks within the show. I feel like I hard same 3 songs repeatedly.
I just finished 2 terrible shows, so this was a huge cleanse for me! The characters are likable and relateble. They have disablites, mental health
...
issues, and they change clothes! They have female characters that they actually care about and aren't just for filling any stereotypical roles. 2 main characters are sex workers, and they aren't as stereotypes in that way of being trashy. There's also a short but blunt address on the difference between how male sex workers are treated in comparison to female sex workers. This show addresses a lot of real life issues people don't like to talk about and would rather blind one to like racism, sex slavery, child slavery, segregation, and all things related to that. The dark themes made me appreciate how human this show is.
Unfortunately, the show ends on an inconclusive note. Maybe they ran out of budget, because the story was at the climax when it stopped, and there could have easily one or two more episodes to bring everything to a close. Maybe even a 1/30 hour movie special. I would like to see the end of this story.

It tells a great story about many lives and deaths, but keep in mind this anime is very dated! Japanese culture has a lot of issues, and isn't great at handling mental health issues. There are alot of "old fashioned" values, that are very annoying, and I'm glad we've moved away from a lot of the beliefs this anime has packed into it from the late 70s - early 80s.
And, if you're like me, you hate hate it when situations could have been better for everyone if someone had just reacted faster! A lot of what I hated was how a lot of the female
...
characters were held up by male characters, which is a huge situation with that "old fashion" mind set. Not that anyone is getting their relationship advice from anime, esply old anime, but this has some very toxic and creepy stuff in it. The end was also pretty creepy, to be honest.
And, there's a story conflict of "grind til you die" and "take care of yourself, and do what love". Somethings it's "grind til you die, doing what you love." but the bleeding obsession with "work hard", and anyone who doesn't is a hot mess is a casting shadow on the series for me.
But, most of the characters that come into play have deep, serious meaning. Everyone learns a lesson, and the story pays off for the most part. And, it's thankfully not an "all work no play" series - where the characters get to take breaks from life threatening danger, and have fun.
As much as I enjoyed it, I wouldn't suggest it to just anyone. Mostly for the toxic messages about relationships and how long it is.

It was truly an honor to be able to view this anime! It's way sexier, feminist, and socially aware than most of the stuff on the market today. I've always get the hots for sexy characters that know they're sexy and want to be sexy! And, there's still so few anime with a shonen theme and a respectable female lead.
I find the character's places to be balanced to where they need to be. The others help Honey, but they don't steal the spot light with how helpful they are. Honey takes down the enemies alone, without anyone jumping in to rescue her. Something way too
...
common in modern anime.
I thought the show would be more science-y, given the setup, but it's a lot of magic. The deaths are more real, than expected from the rest of what's going on.
the only things that disappointed me were 2 characters died that didn't have to, and it ends on a cliffhanger. And, sometimes there are those "IYA!" moments, but that's an ecchi thing.

Starting off with the simple, face value stuff: The art is standard to it's era. There's nothing separating this anime style from most of the others in the 90s. The sound was sub-standard. The voice mics seemed regular, but the some sound effects were missing in "lesser" scenes and some of the sounds effects were lackluster in more "epic" scenes.
The story is terribly boring. With a title like "Please Save My Earth" and knowing it was about people being reincarnated I originally thought there was a threat that killed the last people, and they were purposefully reincarnated to address the threat. It turns it that
...
it's a very unnecessarily tragic-weird slice of life anime. There's no threat outside of the self/ destructiveness of the main characters. And then, for all they went through emotionally they ended up not doing anything.
The characters are carbon copies of "the good, the bad, and the ugly" with past life retrospectives. Everyone does hardly anything and no one gets what they want, in the end. Really, everyone is worse off than when they started, but it's so inconsequentially because most of them didn't do anything. What's really boring is that there's 7 characters and they only went into the life of one of them. One of the characters that did something stop doing it and is suddenly redeemable characters for no connected reason. The other character that did something really didn't do much of anything until the very end, and it now regretting his new life for what he did in his previous one.
The character that got a lot of camera time at the start is very weak character that fades in and out until the end, and doesn't have much value. The person that character was before has more value than the present day character. However, because this person didn't engage with past life stuff as much as the others, she's the only one that has more screen time that's the least tragic. There are the 2 tragic gay guys, because one of the women came back as a man. The other 2 characters are cheerful and normal mooded teenagers, so they're not important.
It's an anime about people that choose to be traumatized by things they didn't do. They live on Earth as normal people (more or less) and they don't do much of anything that anyone cares about. I wouldn't suggest this anime to anyone.

To open up, this is very different from any other Lupin thing you'll see. I mean that in more bad ways, than good.
They turned Lupin into a know it all that never messes up and can save everyone. There's an unneeded love story with the overblown side character, that doesn't even get that much explained development. She gets some development but there's too much of her that's let in absurdity at the end for it to make sense. She didn't really get any better but it's like she acted like some of the stuff was ok.
Lupin out-shined the other characters, for the most part. Everything
...
about what he was doing got more detail than what the other characters where doing. Jigen and Goemon got there own spots. Jigen's was cool, relevant, what you would expect from Jigen. Goemon's was about a girl, and it was weird but ok. You know Goemon falling in love with every women he meets.
Fujiko is the unfortunate case where her spot couldn't be about how cool and skilled she is. It was about how reckless and haphazard she is. She's cool sometimes, but most of the time she only gets away with stuff because she didn't die. It was about Lupin, and how "in-love" they are, even though Fujiko and Lupin's relationship isn't even like that outside of words. We've been looking at these people for a love enough time to know they aren't in love with each other, but they really tried to force that non-existence bond down our throats in this one. They clearly have bond, but it's not that and it shouldn't have to be.
Can't forget those homophobic undertones in a few spots. No one has more homophobic undertones surrounding them than post 80s Fujiko. They still do that "bond between men and women" stuff, which is not only homophobic but can also be considered transphobic. There's also no gay/ trans characters. What's the point of redoing a series to be modern when your storytelling and character designing to still stuck in the heterocentric 70s?
And, I got sick of Italy. In a series, I expect the group to travel, get into all kinds of messes, and all that jolly goodness I've had up until now. This story had narrow plots for very un-narrow characters. With Lupin outshining everyone it wasn't about the team being together, either. I didn't get anything I usually watch Lupin for. I like Lupin goofying up and being in danger. I like it when the others have to save Lupin. I love it when the other characters shine and show off! I love it when character development women ACTUALLY gets character development! I love random travel and adventures! This was a huge disappointment for me!
The only character that didn't disappoint me was Zenigata! He actually surprised me a lot! He hasn't changed at all and I love that they didn't ruin him! I enjoyed going into Zeni's feelings about Lupin and getting to know him as a great cook!
This series also had villains and ended on a central villain that was weird.
The central villain in a Lupin series was some boring, lazy storytelling. They tried really hard to make it good, but it only took Lupin the defeat it, with no help from the others, which was also boring.
At the end, I wouldn't suggest this to anyone. Not just for the homophobic undertones, but lackluster character usage and boring storytelling, with characters that are suppose to be WAY MORE exciting and fast paced.

I really like this one because it shines more of a positive light on Fujiko! In this one, it starts off with Fujiko seemingly same-old-same-old. IT turns out the lady thief is helping a madman because she believes him and his power, and wants to share it with Lupin. She says and shows her affection for her rival, and it's not weird or sleazy on her part.
I feel like her character was very earnest with her intentions, and it all went wrong because of the madman. "But, why would she even trust a madmen?!" Well, who hasn't trusted people they shouldn't have trusted, around here?
...
All the characters are guilty of trusting characters we see as clearly untrustworthy. I'm so into the way Fujiko and Lupin were in this one. It lost points with me for using magic on Fujiko right after they were saying it wasn't magic!
I'm not a big fan of the art style as I'm not into long anatomy. The sound quality is better in this one than a lot of other's in the time period. The sound effects are together, and the lip syncing is normal.
I would recommend this to Lupin fans, anime fans, and anime new-comers!

Another wacky zappy Lupin adventure where everything is really serious and deep rooted in really serious stuff, but Lupin and the gang come and mess up everything for everyone!
You know how we get introduced to a past relation to Jigen the person wants to kill him and he's strangely cool about it sometimes? It's one of those. You know how Goemon can randomly show up for any reason, and rarely is it about a job? It's not one of those. Goemon has actually been hired by the side opposing the group that hired Jigen. They handling it in very convincing ways, and they have each
...
other's back when it's time to make a run for it.
Lupin a lot of his goofy self, but it's not so easy to get the others to help him, like it usually is. Lupin is being presented with a real challenge to get people on his side in this one. I liked he didn't get his way so easily, and he even got pushed aside some.
Character development woman (cdw) seemed like she had a lot to say, but didn't get to say it. She didn't much to do, and left everything up to the gang. honestly, her story was pretty wiped up by the time they got there, and she had a mostly "retired" mind set about what was going on.
Fujiko was great in this one! She jumped into action and had everyone's backs! she didn't have a side plot in this one, but I'm ok with that.
I wouldn't recommend this to Lupin fans because of how dry cdw was. I would recommend this to new anime fans, and anime new comers.
