Story.
Not long after the saints battle with Poseidon, The God of the underworld Hades plots to kill Athena. He does this by not only sending his army to attack the sanctuary but also the resurrected fallen gold and silver saints.
The bronze saints for the most part take the back seat in this portion of the series. Most part you see the fights and interactions between the former gold saints and the still living ones, as well as them both dealing with Hades true soldiers the specters.
Animation/Design
The animation is not great but a big improvement over the last arcs, motion is a bit more fluid and the
...
combat is made better through this making it feel like a real battle rather then my super attack then your super attack. They also make it a blind of 2d and 3d which makes things interesting.
The design is good sticks to the manga very well, if you know the series.
Sound
Music as always is done well, The ending song and opening song are not as good as the last but it's still something to get you in the mood. It at times may seem a bit out of place at first with the better animation but in a short time you get used to it and get into the classic feel of the music. The music also flows really well with whats going on especially something near the end.
Characters
The Gold Saints: Seeing the the gold saints dealing with having to fight not only just fellow warriors but also old friends is very interesting. Most not willing to kill there former colleagues and do everything they can to stop them non-violently, by either talking to them and trying to understand why or simply halt there way there. But they still realize there duty as a knight of Athena and they do what they must to protect her.
The former Gold saints: Not long ago they would die to protect Athena and seeing there great desire and willingness to take Athena's head even now really those make things intense and makes you wonder how strong the will of Hades truly is. Also seeing there interactions with the still living gold saints is interesting but also gives hint's of why there really doing what they are doing.
The bronze saint's: While they are not the focal point of the arc they still as always will fight for Athena even if it means disobeying orders and being attacked and threatened by the gold saints themselves.
The Specters: Most are there as fodder and used to show the power of the saints. But they still make for good scene and fights now and then.
Pro's and con's
Con's
Animation could be better.
You need to at lest watch the first saga to understand this.
It's the set up for another part of the series so no real ending.
Pro
Good music that blinds well with what's going on.
Good intense fight scene.
Some very touching moments.
Goes into the stories of certain characters a bit more and allows for some needed and well done character development.
Overview
This is the best arc in the series, gives you everything you want character depth, action, drama, so if you are or becoming a fan it's a must, you don't need to watch the last arc to truly understand what's going on.
All in all a good arc with few problems I so it get's a rating of 9/10

The Story
The story follows five young warriors called saints and a young lady named Saori, who is the reincarnation of Athena. The saints fight their hardest and would give there lives to protect their Goddess Athena.
Saint Seiya has a Greek mythology theme to it, the universe itself is set in a Greek world with Greek Gods. The sacred armor called cloths all the 88 of them are named after the constellations, there last name are replaced by there Greek animal or sign. While Greek myth is the most common theme in this anime, it mixes a bit of other myth's like Norse, Christianity,
...
even Buddhism.
The majority of the story revolves around five young warriors of Athena, knowing the true identity of Athena's reincarnation. They fight grueling and bloody battles with misguided warriors under the order of the Pope the leader of the warriors of Athena. Through the story they become stronger, find allies and uncover the true plot of the Pope.
Characters
Pegasus Seiya. Seiya is a bit simple minded Goku like character. A warrior that trained most of his life and can come off as dump, do to knowing nothing but fighting. He is the most loyal of the saints and will never stop fighting, even if hes been beaten badly, broken bones, having his senses removed, and fighting characters way out of his league, He will always stand and fight. Seiya may not the most in depth character but he is likable.
Andromeda Shun. A very kind and gentle character, even by looks I thought he was female before I watched the series. Unlike the others shun will not try to kill or even heavily hurt another person. cause of this he comes across as week, but when the situation calls for it he shows he is one of the most powerful of the group.
Dragon Shiryu. One of the most skilled and level headed of the group. he was trained by the highest tier saints, called a gold saint and uses the most durable Bronze Cloths. He like the others will fight to the death to protect Athena, Shiryu himself often fighting blind and nearly giving his life on more then one occasion. In all Shiryu is a cool and loyal character.
Cygnus Hyoga. One of the most calculating and battle smart of the Bronze saints. He was also trained under the guidance of gold saint. While he seems to just be quiet and calm, he dose have emotional bond with his master and mother. In all another good character you will enjoy as he develops.
Phoenix Ikki. By far the most brutal of the bronze saints, Ikki wears the strongest of the bronze cloth the Phoenix cloth. He starts at the beginning of the series as scary and heartless. But the more you learn about his tragic past and the more he develops in the story, you see he has a lighter side to him. Unlike the others he dose not care for Athena and will rarely help at first but he loves and will do anything for his brother shun. His Phoenix cloth gives him the ability to come back from the dead stronger then before, so he is often be the last man standing when facing a powerful enemy. All in all hes a very interesting and badass character.
The Gold Saints. The highest tier of Athena's warriors. The gold saints are one of the most interesting part of the story. They start as enemies, but among them there were those who were fooled by the false Pope, and chose to help. They each have there own reason and backstory for what they do. The conversations and emotional dialogue between them and the bronze saints are great and lead to some truly epic and moving moments.
Saint Seiya's Pros and Cons.
Cons
It is a old anime so the animation is very lacking by today's standards.
Characters could be more developed.
While it has a good opening that sets the mood very well for the show, it can be very slow at times.
The same techniques are often used a lot, with the same animation at times.
Anything that was removed from the manga I wish where there.
The worst part and what beings this anime down for me. Filler characters, one group of filler characters that do nothing but slow the anime down and disappear without a trace, as well as replacing a characters role that removes the emotional impact of a great fight in the manga. But that's what happens when you start an anime the same year as the manga.
The Pros
The music in the anime Is really great and fits very well to whats going on.
Many likable characters throughout, most notable the gold saints who wish you could see more of.
While some may repeat, the techniques are still really cool.
A great mix of action and drama, there are some great emotional moments in this anime that's makes you more invested in the fights.
A great well developed villain.
A great interesting universe, to the powers they have and the mix of myths make the world very interesting.
While it's not nearly as gory as some other mature anime, it is still very bloody and brutal.
My final thoughts.
This is a good action anime, with some good drama and good characters.
This is my fav series so I might be bit biased, but if your like me and enjoy old school anime and your into Greek and other mythology's then saint Seiya is a must watch.

Story
The story follows A young boy named Ryuuji Takane, training to become a famous boxer just like his father who passed away. With him is his sister and coach Kiku who serves as the brain to his brawn.
Through fighting matches together they come across many challenges and characters that stand in there path but through skill, power, tenacity they persevere through it all and become even stronger then before.
This series is kinda like the G gundam of the boxing genre, more of a action anime like dbz confined to the boxing ring and rules then it is a boxing anime.
...
Characters
Ryuuji Takane. You seen this character before, hard working, never gives up, smart in battle and very likable. While that might be because this was a anime based on a manga in 1977 and before a lot of those characters similar he will still comes off as generic, at lest at first. But the more the story go's on the more the character develops, the more you see him react to things and see him become more skilled through hard work, the more you relate and like him.
Kiku. A very likable character, while not a boxer and not as strong as Ryuuji she is still very knowledgeable in the sport and helps Ryuuji become even more skilled and powerful through training. Her reaction and insight in the fights and the fighters themselves are intriguing.
Very colorful group of side characters, all of which are likable even if a bit cartoonish. Most that you see long enough do get some character background and development.
Put it all in the ring/Ring ni Kakero pro's and con's
Con's
Even though it was made in 2004 The animation is still very lacking and really holds the series back. Stuff like bright shiny blood, the lack of movements while fighting, still shot's stuff like that for a action anime really brings the series down.
Starts at a odd place, it skips a bit in the original manga when you first start watching it you feel like you missed a whole season before this.
Music repeats a lot.
Fight's are to short.
May move to fast for some.
Pro's
Likable characters
Nice art and design
Moves fast you never get bored or have to sit through whole eps of training.
Good humor
Interesting genre bending series that you don't see often.
My final thoughts
If your looking expecting something like ippo you will be disappointed, but if your ok with a kinda silly story with action, colorful attacks with a boxing spin this is right up your ally.

The Story
The Great holy war begin's again, the Goddess Athena must lead his warriors once more to save the world from Hades.
The story begins with three characters, Tenma, Alone, and Sasha who all lived together, Tenma goes off to become a warrior of Athena called saints, Sasha finds out she is the 18th century reincarnation of Athena, Alone finds out he is the chosen vessel for Hades return.
The Characters
...
Tenma personality wise he's just kind of a hot blooded naruto like character not very much to him, but his connection with Alone as he tries to deal with his best friend becoming hades is interesting.
Yato hes not really Tenma's friend, more of a rival character who shares the same goal as Tenma, protect Athena at any cost.
Yuzuriha a female saint of higher ranking also follows Tenma and Yato, she is there to aid in anyway she can.
Now for the best part of the show the gold saints, each has there own interesting backstory, with a long epic fights, the way they can develop these characters in a short time is amazing, while these characters don't last for very long in the story they all leave an impression on you.
My Thoughts
Let's start with the bad. The three main characters are just not that interesting and as cool as the gold saints are, They don't last long enough to get attached to them.
At times the the animation can seem stiff when characters are just standing still talking.
It starts kinda slow at the beginning.
Now the good. The blending of Geek mythology and other various mythology works very well with the Stroy and environment.
The art. It looks BEAUTIFUL,the animation and color in fight scenes looks amazing and epic, The design's for the characters and armor are for the most part great.
The main villains are good, some have interesting character depth and backstory, some don't have much of story to them, but still manages to be fun characters with great fight scenes, Alone is interesting to watch as he slowly bends to Hades will while still having a connection with Tenma.

Story
The digital world becomes over populated so the god of the digital world decides to destroy it and make a new one. The digimon that were not chosen for the new world had obtained something called X anti-bodies that gave them greater power and different look, there god fearing their power orders his elite warriors known as the Royal Knights to kill them.
It begins with a digimon called Dorumon trying to survive while being hunted down by the royal knights and other digimon looking to kill him for his antibodies. Along the the way he finds friends willing to fight by his side and fight
...
to save as well against beings far more powerful then they are. You also see the Royal Knights take on what there doing and if it's right.
The Characters
Dorumon: While this character rarely speaks, just seeing his reaction and struggles as well as being so cute really makes you feel for the little guy. He is brave and kind creature that cares for his friends and will fight for them.
WarGreymon X and MetalGarurumon X: Two of the few surviving digimon who risk there lies fighting off the Royal Knight, seeing there desperate struggle and leadership in battles is very captivating.
Omegamon/omnimon and The Royal Knights: Seeing there views and thoughts on what they are ordered to do whether it's good or bad and choosing either there duty or what is right to them is very interesting.
Pro/Cons
Pro's
Good action
Interesting animation and attacks.
Touching and sad Moments.
Good characters and some nice development.
Seeing popular digimon fight enemies and each other.
Con's
Even digimon fans will be lost in what's going on at first.
The animation may take time to get use to
Final thoughts
It's a very good digimon movie my second fav in fact, good action, drama and I think shows you can have a good digimon story without humans. While not being the same characters it's cool to see some familiar Faces so recommend it to all digimon fans.
