Man where should I begin?
I'll start by saying that this is just the second Ghibli movie I have seen and the first one - Howl's Moving Castle I did end up enjoying.
I had no expectations for The Boy and The Heron. I knew that the animation is going to be great and the soundtrack above average. Sadly that's where the good things end.
The story is there and I'll admit that the setup started well enough, but it didn't want to end. There were new things that were constantly being introduced, but there just isn't enough time for all of them to be explored or ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (10/12 eps)
Berserk of Gluttony is your typical fantasy anime to a degree. The plot is very predictable and the characters ain't the most interesting, but it can be an overall enjoyable "turn your brain off" type of show. Without a doubt the biggest flaw is the animation. The character movement feels very stiff, the fights are incredibly mediocre and the overall episode direction is very underwhelming. I know most of these show don't have huge budgets, but this one is below average in terms of production and this really takes away the immersion. If ya want a short time waster go for it, but otherwise navigate ...

Ars no Kyojuu (Anime) add
Preliminary (6/12 eps)
Giant Beasts Of Ars piqued my interest after seeing some of the artwork for it and the plot sounded good enough. The story presents you with a bunch of characters from here and there and after the first five episodes a group has been formed. The two main characters are meant to serve as a duo that fights against the giant beasts and some other bad guys. The guy trying to overcome his past and the girl wanting to learn more about herself.

Sounds good on paper and it should be the same in reality, but the execution isn't that great. Granted the animation isn't ...

Chainsaw Man (Anime) add
The newest and of course most awaited show from MAPPA's ever growing slate of IPs has ended after 3 months adapting about half of Part 1 of the manga.

MAPPA has delivered a truthful adaptation of the source material supported by good animation and great music. One feature that I personally enjoyed was the different ending songs after each episode. Chainsaw Man's art and animation were very well done, with only a few distracting CGI moments. The plot was enjoyable to follow and the voice acting was sublime.

As a person who enjoyed the second part of the manga way more than the first I am ...

Preliminary (9/25 eps)
Well, MHA is back after a lackluster 5th season and welcomes us with the beginning of its most entertaining arc as of yet. In terms of animation, Season 6 is an improvement form the last when it comes to fluidity and consistency. The all out war setting gives the chance for multiple characters to shine and the direction, the story is headed looks very intriguing. The music is good enough, but nothing outstanding.

Overall MHA season 6 is a satisfactory continuation to the series and I am looking forward to seeing some great battles and moments being adapted on the small screen.

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (10/12 eps)
Ever since the rise of Hamefura, I've been seeing more and more Otome shows getting anime adaptation announcements. "I'm The Villainess, So I'm Taming The Final Boss" on the surface doesn't look like it's going to bring anything new to the table, and in reality it really doesn't. That is not a bad thing per say, because the show manages to execute the Otome game tropes in a good enough way in order to be entertaining. Unlike Hamefura which starts well, but then it falls victim to its mundane storytelling structure and annoying MC, "I am the Villainess" manages to introduce us to e ...

Preliminary (5/12 eps)
As a fan of CloverWorks I always check out their new shows and when Bocchi The Rock was announced I was a bit unsure if it was going to be any good, but boy was I wrong.

The show really did surprise me to say the least. It has the typical stuff for a CGDCT show, but there are also certain aspects that elevate it above a lot of other anime in this genre. The humor is great and I can see how much fun the animators are having, because the animation is very fluid and the stylistic choices they make manage to very well integrate ...

Blue Lock (Anime) add
Preliminary (5/24 eps)
The interesting premise behind Blue Lock is what incites curiosity and brings in a lot of viewers. But is it just an interesting idea with a shallow execution or a fleshed out story with well written characters?

The twist behind Blue Lock is that it focuses on creating a great attacker with a huge ego while a lot of other sport titles lean heavy on the teamwork aspect. The cast of characters presented thus far is good enough with everyone having easily differentiable personalities. The MC is written well enough and has a kinda similar to Ashito in his football sense. Studio 8bit is doing a ...

Preliminary (4/12 eps)
After reading the synopsis and watching the trailer I was interested in seeing if Shinobi no Ittoki is going to bring something fresh or remotely interesting to the table.

Unfortunately after the first 4 episodes the show has yet to give us an actual reason for its existence. It starts off fine with the first episode introducing us to the MC and some of the supporting characters as well as the conflict at hand. Instead of building up more on the ninja clans lore and introducing an intriguing premise, the MC gets sent into a generic school setting, but with ninja activities. Honestly I wouldn't have ...
