I overread the Mawaru article you talked about and it seems interesting, I'll probably read it at some point. I don't have the anime fresh in my mind, so a lot of things slip by unless I eventually rewatch. I don't think she referred to that article, though, but I have no idea if it exists anymore, so whatever xD

Utena has a lot of references, aparently about weird religions that I don't know about, TVTropes tells you which ones in case you're interested. Yuri Kuma Arashi talks about the yuri lovers and real life lesbians. As a yuri fan myself, it's an interesting watch, but it's somewhat repetitive (I wasn't a yuri fan at the time lol).

Of course you can link it. You can link whatever to your profile, technically even porn, although you may be banned if a staff member notices. About the challenge, a lot of people simply rushed the Knight difficulty to be the first. I chose Marquess because a friend of mine gets called "Marques" the same way people call me "Conde", and I thought it was fun.

PS: My exams ended last month, but I appreciate the comment xD

wow, now that I read my answer it was really short. Now I try to at least try to explain a bit about the anime I give and/or why.

I'm glad you liked your anime, I knew you would like Mawaru looking at the anime you already watched, and I was right. I think there's a file explaining the apple in Mawaru somewhere on the internet, I never read it so I can't tell you exactly what it is. The apple is an important part of the story and the text I'm telling you about explains who owns it every moment. By the way, I watched the anime because I knew the director: it was the same guy as Utena and the lesser known Yuri Kuma Arashi, you may want to check them out. Especially Utena, which is a cult anime from the 90's.

Regarding Hyouka, I have no idea about why I recommended it to you. I sometimes like recommending things different to what people usually watch if I have the intuition that they'll like it, so it may have been that. It's easy to watch and easy to relate to, and overall a good entry point for more relaxed and character based anime.

Now that I saw your reactions I'm pretty sure that you'd like Planetes too, feel free to check it out if you want. It's a realistic anime that also talks a bit about morality, which seems to be a topic you're interested into.

I can't see your challenge because you don't have it linked in your profile, but I'm pretty sure that you're doing better than me. Its purpose is to discover new things, so I'm glad you're enjoying it even if you're doing it at your own pace. Some people only care about having a good time mark and cheese every challenge they want. If I wanted, I could give anyone a full list of cheese items, but I don't see the point in doing a challenge that way when the only price is a pat in the back.

About my own challenge, I don't really feel like watching most kind of anime this year, especially with my after exams depression if you want to call it that. I'm mostly looking for easy to enjoy anime that isn't too deep and doesn't go in topics I'm not especially comfortable around (JoJo and Sailor Moon are not known for being serious anime, for example xD), so Shinsekai Yori doesn't really go in that pack. Furthermore, I've heard about Shinsekai from several people and I have the impression that it's a meh anime with a philosophical ending people perceive as amazing, and I feel pretty lazy about watching it in general. I usually prefer watching character interactions instead of a big story with a lot of metaphors that I don't get unless I really pay attention and/or look for them on the internet. So I may or may not watch it in the future, but if I end up doing so I hope it's because I felt like it and not because people told me so. The last anime a lot of people told me to watch was SnK and I eventually was forced to start it and immediately dropped it after the agreed number of episodes. It may surprise me after watching, but with all the prejudges I have, it would be surprising that I have a pleasant surprise with it (hehe).

Fair enough. I'm too old and busy to have the time to waste on stuff I don't like anymore, and don't need anime to bond with people, but it does make sense.

I don't see why not. It's a waste of time to watch something I don't like, and I don't want to restrict myself to only try things that look really good.
