HXDXD is the 2012 animated adaption of the LN bearing the same name, which started in 2008. With the LN being a simple ecchi fantasy romcom you would expect TNK Studios to actually follow the chain of events and make a good first impression with what was obviously intended as a one-shot thing.
Instead they added a extra genre and basically ripped off Hellsing during the Fallen Angel Arc, with a smarter but more confusing MC and a revenge subplot straight from Brandon Lee's The Crow ( which was a waay better adaption and general movie than this overall). For all the people out there complaining that this anime is "one of the worst" and 'it sucks", and other hateful things, you KNEW that this was a animated light novel adaption ( I don't consider them true anime) either keeping or adapting the popular "harem king" trope for the television ( or the internet, whichever way it gets on there). To say that it's lame just because it has a seeminly "god-like" MC who is essentially unbeatable is just stupid.
