The Quintessential Quintuplets or 5-toubun no Hanayome. The direct translation of 5-toubun no Hanayome is "5 equal brides", which is ambitious enough because most harem mangas tend to favor 1 or 2 characters which makes the harem pointless.
This manga was very close to achieving greatness but leaves much to be desired at the end and a bitter feeling of how a borderline great manga ends up being like it's harem predictors.

Art: The art of Negi gradually became better and better throughout the manga and he kept it very consistent in quality. The double spreads are breathtakingly good at points, the covers are simple yet ... beautiful. And let's not forget the best thing about Negis drawings, the quints pouts!

Characters: This is were the manga truly shines! Most harems tend to use the same formula for their heroines, by this I mean there are always, for example, a tsundere, a tomboyish girl, a kuudere and so on.

How 5-toubun no Hanayome manages to take this to the next level is by making the characters feel like they're individuals instead of cutouts of famous characters.

Ichika is the big sister of the group and the ara ara type character. She goes from trying to support Mikus love to eventually trying to sabotage her own sisters chances. This might seem like she's a horrible character but she's really just very human. Her redemption is well done afterward but unfortunately, because of her arc, she's quickly disregarded in terms of having a chance with Futarou later on.

Nino is the girl that starts off by hating our MC for getting in between her sisters. She's the assertive sister and the one that is the harshest. But behind that is a girl that probably cares for her sisters more than anyone else. When she finally falls in love with Futarou, she almost immediately confesses to him. She breaks every harem trope that you can think of!

Miku is the one with the biggest fanbase, why? She's a shy girl that doesn't like interacting with others but because of Futarous continuous efforts of trying to get her to study, she very quickly falls in love with him. She goes from being uncertain about her feelings and if they're OK to harbor, to valiantly showcasing her love and appeal to Futarou at every chance that she gets.

Yotsuba, oh boy. When the manga was at chapter 90 she was the second favorite girl of 90% of the fanbase, but that quickly changed for several reasons. But in a nutshell, she's a relentless extrovert with a positive attitude, or rather that's the role she tries to play.
She tries to sacrifice her own happiness for her sisters but ultimately plays into her own feelings several times throughout the manga. She's also the infamous childhood friend of Futarou, which is also something she hides during the mangas run.

Last but not least, the girl that everyone dreaded as the first girl, Itsuki (aka best girl, fight me!)
Itsuki is the first girl to appear in the manga and her relationship with the MC is shaky at first. But gradually she starts to trust Futarou and eventually this leads to her wanting to become a teacher. She's not bright when it comes to school but gives it her all. She loves food above all else, hence the nickname Eatsuki! And she's the one that Negi uses a plot device every single time!
She's an amazing character, but how Negi uses her, that's something I'll go deeper into in the story section.

But overall, this is the strongest part of the manga

Story: Now this is where the manga eventually falls apart (sorta, more like the last 15 chapters). At the start of the manga, we see Futarou getting married to one of the quints which starts of the mystery of "who is the bride"? Because they're quintuplets and all look the same.

This and several chapters in which we get a look into the future makes for a fascinating mystery aspect to a rom-com harem manga. This is also why the manga was so loved and had such an active community because there were so many theories to be crafted. Unfortunately, Negi throws this all under the bus for a rushed romantic development at the end.

One of my biggest disappointments with the manga is also how Negi uses Itsuki. The fanbase automatically had a dislike for her only because she was the first girl and Negi knew this and used this a plot device. The infamous bell kisser looked like Itsuki for one. She got close to no romantic development throughout the manga and didn't even get a kiss like all of the other sisters. All of this could've been for Futarou to reveal that he actually likes her instead of the ones that are already in love with him but no, instead Negi throws in that she was in love with him for a single chapter at the end.
Many people have said that not all sisters have to love, which is true BUT not when the manga is literally titled "5 EQUAL BRIDES".

We also never get to see how Futarou falls in love with the girl that he eventually chooses, which was even weirder because he said he's not going to pick anyone just a few chapters ago. And when he did decide to chose one, we get forced drama instead of fluff.

The ending is also nonsensical because nothing happens, literally! They play one last game of the quints game where he tells them each apart from the others and then he marries one of them. Still no interactions between the wedded couple, instead all of the sisters decide to tag along to the honeymoon!

Enjoyment: So as much as I ranted on about the story, that is only the ending. The story was very VERY enjoyable up until the last 15ish chapters. I truly feel very strongly for this manga because I really loved it and part of me still does. The characters are amazing and I'll probably never forget them. The mystery aspect was new and intriguing, even though it all fell apart at the end.

Overall: Why I feel so strongly towards the ending is because of one simple reason, I loved this with all of my heart. Every Tuesday, when the chapter would drop, would brighten my day, I had so much fun making up theories about who the bride would be and so on.

The story fell apart completely at the end and the writing took a nosedive, yes! But is that enough for me to forget how much I enjoyed this over its 3 years run? No, definitely not

At one point, I was sure that this was gonna replace "The World God Only Knows" as my favorite harem of all time. But alas that was not meant to be, but this manga will still have a very special place in my heart!

Fairy Tail! A manga that get's so much hate but so much love at the same time, does it really deserve both? It certainly does!

Fairy Tail is one of my first anime/mangas and I think that it makes me qualified to judge this series without me being a complete hater or a complete fanboy. Let's get on with this review!

Story: 3/10
Something that started out really well but ended dreadfully. Fairy Tail had a magic to it's world and story, nothing to spectacular but it was something that fantasy and shounen lovers loved. The first few arc's were very well done and introduced some great characters. ... Each of their arcs were well thought out and executed well.

It was never to dark for it's own good, it had a positive and good feel vibe all around, but what went wrong? The story direction and writing.

Here is the thing, the author (Hiro Mashima) had some great Idea's about each arc, the problem was how he executed them. It was all a mess, each character is pitched against an opponent. The opponent is to much for the character to handle, so what does he do? Yes, what he does is that he gives us the same old speach about how important friends are
(The infamous Nakama) and how they give him/her strenght. And that ladies and gentlemen is how every damn villian from a point on in the manga falls. No jok.

It was clear Hiro Mashima didn't know where to go, it was sad as the story began so wonderfully!

Art: 9/10

No questions asked, the art is beautiful. Some panels left me staring at the because the picture seemed alive. The world was blooming with wonders and the characters expressions were clear as day light. Mashima's art is simply beautiful.

Nothing more to say, if you're anime watcher who don't read manga often, It will be very easy for you to switch to this manga as the art is something welcoming and alot like the actual anime.

Characters: 5/10

So here is the thing, the all of the characters of Fairy Tail are unique and memorable. Which is something hard to pull off because of how large the cast is. Alot of backstories are tearjerking and well written. So once again what is the problem here?

The direction is once again the problem. Let's take Natsu Dragneel for example. He's the strong fire dragon slayer with a fiery attitude, your typical shounen male MC. At one point he faces of against the stronges mage in the guild who is called Gildarts. Gildarts uses his raw power to frighten Natsu, the point of this is to teach Natsu about the importance to know your own limit and back off at times, which is a very valid point. Natsu starts crying for the first time and seems to understand what Gildarts just taught him. BUT NO!!! The leasson he was tought NEVER once crosses his mind again in the series as he jumps into fight's as he has always done.

Erza is another character who I loved so much, but became trash and predictable. Repeating the same lesson about "Nakama" every damn fight. And that never changes, the only character that truly changed and get's alot of hate for some reason is the main MC of Fairy Tail. She is at the beginning someone weak and fragile that tries to run away from her problems. At the end she isn't afraid anymore and tries to help her friends instead, facing her own fears head on, standing on her own 2 feet. Heck she even saved the whole guild (and technically the whole world) during the Tartarous arc by sacrificing her first zodiac key.

They're all have solid designs and everything and are very good at the beginning, but their progression is boring and bad. Lucy was good though, and she get's unnecessary hate.

Enjoyment: 7/10 Overall: 6/10

So despite so all of the problems the manga was good at some points, and when it was it was very enjoyable. The first season of the anime is something I can rewatch alot of times because I find it so enjoyable. It turns shite later on and not just shit, the last arc is pure garbage.

But it's still a manga that brought me alot of joy and brought joy to millions of people around the world. Fairy Tail has something that unifies it's fans in a stange way which is something awesome to be a part of. Unless you're a shipper cause the shipping wars can get ugly!

Overall a manga that I used to say is one of my favorites and had alot of potential, but like many other "BIG" managas these past years turned bad at the end.

Sad end to a manga that I will always remember! Sayonara, Fairy Tail!

*SPOILER FREE REVIEW*

Black Torch! A manga I picked up when the first chapter came out because I heard that it strongly resembles Bleach. I loved Bleach but it got really bad afterwards, so if a manga that has Bleach vibes just came out, Why not pick it up? And my decision turned out to be a correct one!

Story:
While not something "VERY" original, it's still pretty darn intresting. A boy who can understand animals saves a cat who he later finds out is a legendary Momonoke that has beeen sealed away for a long time. After a couple of events our MC Azuma Jirou acquires the ... momonokes power, who's name by the way is Ragou.

The story is about an organisation who decide to have Jirou join them to keep a eye on him and Ragou. Jirou joins a team which consists of a girl and a "four eye", the team's name is Black Torch.

So as you guys can see it's not very original, but the execution is on point which makes following the story intresting and not to predictable, something that alot of new Shounen titles are.

It will probably improve and I will update this review later on but for now it's a solid:

Art:

The art is fantastic, Kubo Tite (Bleach author) used to be a brilliant artist but his arts quality declined throughout the years and ended on a low note. But the art in Black Torch so far is magnificent and especially the double pages, which are breathtaking.

Not a 10 because it can be improved slightly with the background in some panels where the background is just white, but it will definitely improve with time.

Characters:

Again not original but not badly excecuted. Jirou and Rago are cool characters so you will probably enjoy these 2 characters. The glasses guy (can't remember his name) is alot like Uryuu from Bleach or Sasuke from Naruto. That dosen't mean that he is a bad character tho, he is right now a character that is pretty strong and he easily annoyed by the MC, but he has potential but so far nothing speciall. Let's hope that he dosen't turn out like Sasuke or Uryuu later on.

The main girl is called Ichicka, has a bit of a temper but nothing that is to annoying to be honest. She has a nice design if your're into that kinda stuff. But what I like from here is that 6 chapters in she's already eager to do something and tries to do everything in her power to help out. Which is nice cause alot of shounen girls are useless from the start and doesn't realise that until the end of the series (I'm looking at YOU SAKURA).

Enjoyment:

Now the thing is I know that this isn't super original, but it's very entertaining. It's not a go happy manga but dosen't take itself to seriously all the time and can have a few comedic moments. To put it simply; It's gives of those early Bleach vibes. Which is a positive thing!

I'm positive that this is the next big thing in Shounen Jump SQ and it can be adapted into an anime within 3-4 years if a studio is quick. But if you're looking for a new shounen manga that isn't as shounenish as the most things published in Shounen Jump today, then this is definitely worth a read!

STRONG 8/10

So this is going to be a review of the first season of my hero academia!

*SPOILERS ALERT*

My hero academia was probably the most hyped up anime of this season and it's understandable why, it's the next big shonen according to alot of people. Now does it live up to it's hype? It certainly did for me!

Story:
Simple, in a future where 80% of the world population have manifested a power like ability referred as a Quirk! These powers can be anything from psychic abilites to fiery explosions. Anyways our protagonist Izuku Midoriya is a boy who want to become a strong hero like his role ... model, the strongest hero: All might.

Problem is that he is one of the few minority without a quirk, this leaves him devestated but he still strives to get in to his dream highschool: U.A.
As the anime progress Midoriya manage to acquire a powerful quirk trough his role model All might. But to use this quirk he must train hard to be a worthy vessel.

The story takes place during Midoriyas first year at highschool. The story itself is very simple and not very complicated. I found the story very exciting an wanting more. The story is simple but brings out the best in it. An intresting story that will keep you hooked.

Art:
The studio behind Hero Academia is Bones who are known for both the FMA series and Noragami. It aint no madhouse but bones does a really good job and does the manga justice. Beautiful brightful colors and the fight scenes are also animated very well. Especially All might vs Nomu which is considerd by many as the best fight since Saitama vs Boros.

Overall a fantastic job done by Bones, cudos to them!

Sound:
The soundtrack is to be honest outstanding. It captures moments like All might vs Nomu soooooo well and it hypes you up! You get super excited at some scenes which is contributed by the great soundtracks.

Character:
The Characters are very shonen like. There is this cool guy, there is this hotblooded guy, A girl who has a crush on the main character and so on. If you like shonens you will definitely enjoy the characters, if you dont like shonens then you probably wont as much but you might still like them.

The first season focused alot on Midoriya as a Character and he got a good bit of development. From being a insecure cry baby he actually becomes alot more confident in himself and developes as a person. He's not so nervous around people as he used to be and actually stands up to his bully!

Enjoyment/Overall:

I like shonens but they were starting to get a bit boring to me and predictable but hero academia reignited the fire inside of me. I have not enjoyed a Shonen like this in a long time and it feels great. With beautiful brightful colors and a fantastic soundtrack to go with the action you cant help but smile and fangirl/boy at some points as you get caught up in the moment. Im not being a Fanboy right now as i had kind of low expectations on this series and tough it would turn out to be popular first and then decrease like Fairy tail but after reading the manga to i can say that it will only get better from here on with every arc.

Hero Academia is here to stay and will stay for a long time as it's not going to end anytime soon! Just sit back and enjoy this Masterpiece in the making!

So i wanted to watch KHR for a long time but something was stoping me and one day when i was sick and had nothing to do i decided to give it a go, and my only wish is that i could have done this earlier as KHR is one of the best and unique shonens out there!

As im writing this review im listening to the KHR ost called Tsunas awakening. The soundtracks and openings of this show is a huge reason that people wanted to watch Katekyo Hitman Rebon. The soundtracks are beyond amazing and works so well with the actuall story and moment. ... The openings and ending are one of the most consistent of an anime up til date.

Diffrent people tend to argue over the art style of KHR, as for my self it did not bother me so much. If you can get over the first few episodes then the art style will only get better and better, nothing that should bother you'r enjoyment.

The story is very unique. It's about a boy who has been a loser his whole life and suddenly one day a 5 year old (adorable) hitman called reborn barges in and tells him that he is choosen as the 10th boss of the mafia family: Vongola. The vongola are the strongest mafia in the world and all of this seems like a joke at the start but will get really serious. I love this story so much cause the whole mafia concept is new and exciting and you get to see Tsun(the protagonist) go through alot during the story. He does not want anything to do with the mafia but have to get stronger in the end to protect his friends from diffrent threats.

Some characters tend to get annoying like the baby lambo and some time the main girls kyoko and haru, but mostly it alright. The main guardians go through alot of character development which is really good and enjoyeble. But the most intresting character is still Tsuna who goes trough alot of change and development. He's not you'r typical protagonist who is strong already and wants to get stronger. He is actually really weak but gets much stronger as the serie progresses.

203 episodes of pure awesommness! It has it's flaws but it definetely one of the best shows out there. The only real problem i have with it is that the show was cancelld and ended before the manga, and the manga also ended before he could become the boss which is really annoying. The producers stated that it was not as popular as they wanted it to be which was not true. But we can all hope for a continuation! (:
