Of course, everything is possible with willingness, patience and planning. But even in that case, the important question remains: will that be worth? The problem with One Piece is not only its monumental, intimidating length, for many people like myself it's also about the character designs. I do put a lot of value in the designs because they affect a lot my overall enjoyment. And in the case of One Piece, they're just too cartoonish for my anime-liking. It's impossible for me to take the show as seriously as it wants to be taken with all those ridiculous childish designs (and a lot of them, pretty ugly). I wouldn't mind (much) if One Piece were a western cartoon, but it's not.

True, DC is longer than One Piece, but i) my score of it (DC) doesn't have anything to do with how long it is, that's not a factor and ii) the main difference here is that, unlike DC, OP doesn't follow an episodic, formulaic format for most of its run where you can choose to skip a lot of episodes if you want to complete it faster, no, here if you want to understand what's going on in episode 901, you have to watch every single of the prior 900 episodes first. And as far as I'm concerned, OP has a very low filler count, so it's not like you can speed up things by skipping long filler segments. So no, in One Piece you have no option but to watch everything, you can't skip plenty of episodes without that implying losing understanding. And to make things worse, it isn't even finished yet, as opposed to other similar very long shounens, so at the same time you're attempting to complete it, more and more new episodes are already coming in making the task even more harder and intimidating.

As I sad I would give it a chance in the manga version, but that's only a possibility, since I'm an anime-only consumer. I don't get much enjoyment from stories and their characters in manga format. I haven't even read the manga versions of any of my favorites.
