Nagatoro was great this week! I loved it. Same with Shadows House!
The Vivy Ending though... I LOVED IT. It may have not been the perfect ending, but it was still fantastic. I love that some of the themes and plot-point conclusions were put to our interpretation instead of just bluntly stating it. I can't stop humming the ED theme now, fuck 😭. I'll try to make a review once I rewatch the whole thing.
Double Update! : This super cub episode was AMAZING. Might be my favorite episode honestly. The finale (I assume), next week is gonna hit hard. It just felt so fucking real.
To Your Eternity was great this week! Absolutely love the Gugu development.
Update! : Episode 10 of Tokyo Revengers... Wow! There really has to be a cliffhanger every week, huh? 😭😭 It always has me at the edge of my seat. I absolutely loved this episode. Though, I think some things were a bit too convenient for Takemichi. That aside though, it was great.
Update! : I watched episode 10 of Nagatoro and that was pretty good! The main highlight of the episode for me was the ending part, which I really like for some reason. It's cool seeing Nagatoro stand up for Senpai.
Update! : I just finished the ninth episode of Shadows House, and WOW! That was wild. I was really starting to love Rum and Shirley too! Her death was so tragic. I'm hoping Rum will appear once again because her development from now on is going to be very different now that Shirley's gone; that is if they ever use her again. That scene with Edward and the higher-ups was also intriguing. I find the cycle of a shadow and face very creative. I really want to know how they're going to break out of it too.
Update! : I just finished watching Boku no Hero Academia: Sukue! Kyuujo Kunren, and it was alright. It was pretty fun, but I wasn't that entertained by it. The dialogue especially was my biggest problem with this one. It's either very awkward or just straight-up bad the way I see it. There are also times when they're okay but the tone of the scene opposes or ruins it.
Update! : Caught up with Higehiro. While I do still think that it retains its realism in some aspects of the anime, I somehow feel like it's lost its touch a bit? I could barely sympathize with Sayu's past, and to some extent, I think it wasn't portrayed well. It may have been the result of the pace it was moving at or in general, just how it was. The storyboarding and visuals also poured salt in the wound as they weren't really impressive.
Triple Update! : I'm caught up with Vivy, Shadow's House and Nagatoro! Not gonna elongate this cause I'm watching the R:Z stream rn. They were great episodes.
Update! : I'm caught up with To Your Eternity! Wow, that was an absolute ride. It's definitely one of the best animes this season. I knew from the start that this was going to be a rollercoaster just from the pure emotion each character and arc gave off. There are so many themes that are handled masterfully: growing up, despair, loneliness, death, and the one I'm most intrigued by, the purpose of life. All these are such essential parts of life, whether or not you live a life that's like the life of the characters in that specific arc you're watching. It's just handled so well, and I'm glad that they're all being tackled in such a way. Fushi's journey for eternity to preserve life, and live it. And while he lives it, he looks for the purpose in life itself, and maybe even the purpose of living as an immortal being. Amazing show.
Update! : I'm currently at episode 5 of Tokyo Revengers and it's cool! I kind of very high expectations for this one since a lot of people are calling it anime of the season, so it's not surprising that it wasn't able to reach those expectations; it's still a great anime regardless. I do think that the time-travel mechanics are set up pretty well. There are just some things that don't really make sense to me (which will probably be explained before the season ends). The characters are good and all, but sometimes the overexaggerated reactions or interactions quickly ruin the mood of the situation. The MC is nice too. Also, The theme of them wanting to grow up really fast is one part of the show I really like. I somewhat relate to that. The animation is average though, which is very sad. I feel like a lot of these scenes could be elevated by a lot if the storyboarding and visuals were more eye-catching. Overall, it's a great anime, definitely recommend checking it out.
Update! : I'm finally caught up with Shadows House! That was AMAZING. I absolutely love the setting and plot. All the world-building and the Shadow's house itself make for such an interesting story. It wouldn't be too far-fetched to say it's the most underrated anime this season.
Though I'm still not convinced with Emilico and Rum, all the other characters were written very well; Kate and Shaun specifically are my favorites. Their personalities are so distinct from one another, and when paired with their respective shadow-master, there are many parallels and differences that can be drawn. I also love how they don't unnecessarily stick to our main character. The other characters all have their own interesting stories that can be useful in making this story much more amazing than it already is. I don't really have any problems with the anime other than some parts where the pacing is a bit weird. This anime is great though! Looking forward to whats next.
