nhk's been on my list forever, i hear it's good. probably would've hit different when i was younger though

if you liked perfect blue, try satoshi kon's other stuff - Paranoia Agent (series), Tokyo Godfathers, Paprika & Millennium Actress (movies). michiko&hatchin is good. everyone knows cowboy bebop and baccano, they're good if you haven't seen them. gungrave is also good, and even better if you skip episode 1 (it's 100% repeated later in the show, it's only there to tie in the PS2 game early on.) MFKZ and Lu Over The Wall on netflix are very weird and underrated movies. Ping Pong the Animation is hella good and very short, one of my faves

i hate clannad because the characters look like malformed bugs. however bleach and guilty crown are just objectively terrible wastes of time. angel beats is dumb because it was such a shameless ripoff of 50 other popular things at the time but who knows what it's like watching it in the year 2022.
