First off, i really enjoyed hyouka. I loved the characters and story. As someone who usually watches things like Naruto, High school dxd, Charlotte, and the occasional Clannad, i am completely new to any form of mystery anime or otherwise. So, when i watched this a story with suspense and immersion without any fighting i was shocked. But, this show took it a step further when it added likable characters and an interesting story, so needless to say i was mind-fucked when i watched this show. The art style and sound were great, i even enjoyed the dub, ( even though the kanji references were
...
confusing af, i learned to play along), which i almost never the case in shows that i haven't been hearing about for years. The ONLY reason i didn't give this a 10 was because the NO GODDAMN CONCLUSION WHAT SO FUCKING EVER, and when i mean none i mean they ended the game right before the final boss battle. AND I SCREAMED, AT 2 AM, IN MY HOUSE OF 5 PEOPLE, " WHAT, THE, FUUUUUUUCCCCCCCK". overall as long as you don't wait 20 episodes for the mcs to hook up you'll love this thing. It is also the most mundane highschool anime i have ever seen (except for maybe chill camp).
P.S.- Where was the rope??

This was better than last season in quality, but its been so long i was ten when i watched the first season so I probably thought the first was way better than it actually was. but this review is about season 2 so here it is:
I HATED this at first... I dropped this anime 4 times before I finally sat down and committed myself to finishing it no matter what, turns out it was pretty damn good. Fulfilling the expectations, and really idolizations I had for the first season was impossible, especially after so long. It wasn't until after I forgot about them and watched
...
it like just another show could I appreciate it for what it really was. The world building of Attack on Titan is some of the best ever, the story has an amazing air of mystery around it and creates suspense that made me refuse to put it down once I finally got into it. In the first season we saw Erin's hatred of the titans and the irony that he is what he hates most. I loved that aspect, it was very unique story telling for our medium. While the slow pacing and "out of the blue" reveals shocked me at first and honestly I couldn't enjoy them for what they were because i couldn't understand them, I had to go back and remember everything to realize just how powerful and narratively amazing these reveals and events were.(who doesn't love some good narrative). Highly recommended for anyone who likes anime, and the buildup into the next seasons are amazing. Even if you hated this its worth watching for how great season 3 and 4 are and will be.
I edited this review because when i first made it i was an ignoramus. Here is a little excerpt from the deleted review:
"season 3 is about to come out so maybe they make up for a mediocre season [2] by giving us another quick mediocre season 3... didn't live up to the hype"
I was wrong, go watch it.

After watching this movie, i went "woah that was a masterpiece, i mean how do rate it?" then i saw that same word masterpiece right beside the ten and i said "well it was great, i don't usually give things a ten but, this seriously deserves one". I'm not really the emotional type, nor do i like most things complicated, overused, or really romantic. so, i didn't expect to like this movie, in fact i postponed watching it for 2 weeks to make way for other anime, but this was just amazing. The story made me go " damn, that's too real" and made me
...
realize what a true slice of life is. It feels like the person with the most messed up past in tokyo and made him a personal anime. I mean the opening scene itself makes you go damn dude. The story was just amazing, for a lot of romantic anime i watch it's usually just "It's been 20 damn episodes, just get together already" *slams keyboard*, but this didn't need anything romantic to show a powerful bond and push a powerful message. Not that there really is too much romancy stuff if you're not into that. I'm usually an akame ga kill/ Naruto/DitFXXX type of dude but sometimes really emotional anime appeal to me such as ToraDora/Clannad~AS~/kimi no nawa, and now this. basically this was perfect. For me personally I've experienced some pretty harsh depression (not like suicidal shit tho) and like most people have had my fair share "feels bad man" so sometimes i felt a weird deja vu/ understanding of their emotions. music and art were great i love all the character models and i found a bunch of wallpapers in here the enjoyment is a 15/10 and for real i'm not just exaggerating, i was unable too move until i finished this movie as soon as it started. The characters are mostly blunt, assholes with no shame like most people my age but a select few were nice, caring, and were born without their head up their ass. overall i would rate this anime as high as possible anywhere and recommend it to anyone no matter their preferences. Looking back the only reason i picked this up is because i saw in an amv and thought it'd be a good way to pass the tme... little did i know that i stumbled upon one of the greatest anime movies of all time.

This anime was a masterpiece. I can only complain that it didn't have the art of Hyouka to pull it to the next level. Thematically, narratively, everything especially the characters are some of the best I've seen. The charm of the series is the gut-wrenching story, but it also had some of the funniest and most memorable slice of life moments in an anime I have ever watched. The first half of this season and the whole first season built attachments and appreciation to the characters. You see the characters grow and develop relationships. Numbers or words can't describe the kind of emotional impact and,
...
humanity of these characters. It is a critique of adult life in one aspect, with a very realistic slice of life, ya know it's as slow and uneventful as real life. But that realism makes it that much more impactful when something happens to any of the characters. I wish I could erase my memories just so I can go back and watch this anime for the first time again. I've been told re-watching it is a total mindfuck because you see everything that caused the ending unfold, and while that sounds like an amazing experience I'm not putting myself through such an emotional rollercoaster again.
For anyone who doesn't really know what this show is, it is a slice of life by Jun Maeda. He is responsible for anime like Kanon, Little Busters, Air, Angel Beats, and Charlotte. While not having the action of some of his other works he takes his experience with creating Kanon and Little Busters (shows about people, romance, and both slice of life shows) and really went all out with this. The show is old as hell, as seen by the animation, so I don't know why anyone except newcomers haven't seen it already. The 48 or something episodes might be too much for some people, especially for such a slow series but you won't find many romances like it. My favorite anime of all time. 10/10 for story, characters, enjoyment, and even the op/ed gets a 10 for how memorable they are after you finish the show. 7/10 for art but for a classic what do you expect

This anime was great, now im not one to comment on sound because i don't know the difference between good and bad sound it was just sound and since there wasn't any moments where i went "omg this sound is really bad" i gave it a 7. For art it is pretty good, nothing spectacular, although there was sometimes where i had to pause and take a screenshot becuase i loved it 99% of the time it was just good animation so 8. I loved the story (of course since it just got to its second cour that might change). But overall, i got a
...
very mysterious intriguing vibe from it. Even after it answers some of the questions i was asking in my head over and over everytime it did i asked two new questions. The immersion of the world is great and this show is as addicting as heroin, I JUST COULDN'T STOP WATCHING. The story is a 9, i would give it a 10 but im gonna wait until the anime is actually over to do that. The enjoyment was a perfect 10. The characters i rated as 8 because on the outside they look like common tropes, but each one has their backstory, motivations, and traits that I don't really see that often in anime. The most important part was when the characters felt sad, i felt sad, when they felt contempt, happiness, heartbreak, i felt some of those too. now the reason why it was not a perfect ten is because a few of them are stereotypes, and 90% of the time they are just cheerleaders. This anime was a 9 and if it keeps going at this rate by the end it will be a 10. I also forgot to mention the hiro/02 story line was one of the happiest and saddest things i've watched since clannad.
Edit: I said a while ago that if the story keeps going at this rate it would be a masterpiece...well you might know where i'm going with this. I didn't even come close. The story became a train wreck, filled with terrible planning, rushed episodes, and best of all A TERRIBLE ENDING. now, the anime was still better than average at the lowest point in its drop. I'm definitely exaggerating on much worse it got. But as a diehard DITF fan when it was airing i felt stabbed in the back with a ending befitting a light novel isekai from 2015. still one of the best mecha i have seen, and the best in recent years. this show may inspire some more mecha to come out, hoopefully for once in 40 years one could have a good ending.
