July 22nd update: BUSY in China Currently and the country is doing a great job to let me find things to do... This Profile is unfinished, I'll probably finish it up by the end of the mouth. (June 1st 2015) I'm a college freshman major Applied Physics. Anime is possibly the most important art medium for me since it essentially decided the path of my life. Sorta. I decided to learn physics because of Steins;Gate. Sorta. It was a pretty important catalyst and I just happen to love physics. I'm a very casual anime viewer. But I think about shows in a kind-of-deep level, thus I rate them quite critically. Occasionally I write some reviews with easy-to-understand English and relaxed tone. (Check out mylist, you might find something cool! All the animes have descriptions and detailed scores) I tend to value animation quality less than story and character, but this does not apply to obvious action shows such as AoT and Kill la Kill. Character development is an important aspect of a show's success, but sometimes I'm fine with great character designs that have minimal developments. Usually I drop the animes I do not like and I give reasons on the tags. Sometimes it's not because they are bad, it's just cuz I don't like the style or an specific genre. I only watch completed animes. Most of the time after the dub comes out so I can decide my preference. Favorite Genre: Psychological, Mystery, Thriller. Least Favorite Genre: Slice of Life, Shounen (generally), Hentai. Favorite type of Character: Independent, Strong, Smart, Calm Prefer single continuous story over episodic Pet peeve: People who don't reply my messages after reading them... -_- Favorite Quote: The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity. ------ Harlan Ellison No. I don't watch hentai. They are more gross and pointless than actual porn I do enjoy ecchi tho, as long as they don't make it unbearable :P Scoring System Story, Character, Animation, and Sound weighing vary according to individual show's focus I rate as objectively as possible. As long as I think it does well on what it does, I appreciate it Don’t be sad when you see your favorite anime gets rated 4/10, these ratings have nothing to do with enjoyment value. The definition of MONUMENTALLY-AWESOME. They are either absolutely amazing on pretty much all the aspects, or they have some extremely redeeming qualities with acceptable flaws. The later has my personal enjoyment influenced so they are certainly NOT masterpieces. None of these shows are perfect by any means, but they influenced me greatly on a personal level. The definition of fantastic. They are respectable works that every single anime fan should appreciate. They may not be enjoyable for everyone, but they certainly are shows that go beyond and above ordinary entertainment. These shows tend to influence the anime community even after decades of its release. The definition of great. They are very well done shows that set the benchmarks of their corresponding genres and contemporary works. Excel in their focusing areas but lacks greatly in other elements, these programs achieve objectives beautifully. Minor flaws are presented, but not in a manner that’s important enough to influence the overall image. The definition of good. They are good pieces of entertainment for the sole sake of entertainment. These works tend to have very positive influence for the community, but flaws and poorly done parts can be easily noticed. Definitely enjoyable to a very high degree, but very little notable execution or moral messages are presented. The definition of alright. Although these shows can provide decent entertainment for their target audience, they do not have many redeeming qualities. They either tried and failed, or they didn't try and somehow made the shows enjoyable to some degree. These shows have interesting elements, but presented in a rather unsatisfying way. The definition of mediocre. if you feel like watching that specific type of show... yea go for it. They tend to not have any real reason for people to love it, since everything they do is flat and tasteless. Major flaws can be spotted, but alright in most parts. I would not recommend these shows to anyone unless they simply want more of what they like to see. The definition of meh. These shows have good concepts, but fail to expand upon it. Ironically, I would recommend people to see these shows because they tend to be more entertaining than 5/10. They are very poorly executed, and plot holes can literally be found all over the place. But somehow leaves memorable impressions because of that. The definition of bad. These tend to be aimless shows that provide little entertainment with no meaningful stories. Pointlessly aiming at nowhere, they tend to be somewhat enjoyable for a very specific group of people. But even for them, these shows are merely providing quick and random works that barely has any redeemable matters. Definitely not recommendable. The definition of ridiculous. These are horrible shows that are basically made of flaws, plotholes, inconsistent animations, generic songs and they are BORING as hell. If I had a chance of unseeing them, I would definitely choose to do so. The creators did not put any notable effort into the productions, therefore we the viewers should not put our time into these either. The definition of no. The existence of such insolent material is a sin. OVAs, Extras, Specials, Spin-offs, Parodies and all that shenanigans are valued based on their objective and qualities. Whether it is an addition for the parent story, an entertaining episode that doesn't affect the plot, a funny parody, or a fanservice special, I judge the quality of the production based on how it is, instead of what it is. However, other than the ones that actually affect the plot (Kokoro Connect, Baccano), most of the OVAs tend be lame and badly animated, so do not expect too much out of them. Favorite Animes, so far They aren't all masterpieces. The following animes are based on my PERSONAL ENJOYMENT only. Favorite Characters, so far They aren't all deep and great. But they are lovable as who they are. Notable Soundtracks Music is the soul of an anime. No show is complete without it. These are “good” music according to my impartial judgment, not my favorites. Requirements & Standards OSTs In alphabetical Order, Under construction OPs In alphabetical Order, (click spoilers for my geeky comments) This song, along with Tank! are two iconic Jazz stars in the anime world. Although some may accuse Guns & Roses for copying Bebop, it expresses a completely different style, almost opposite to Tank!. Performed by an all-female group, the lack of powerful, steady breaths is very obvious to catch from those Sax Phones. However, instead of exposing this weakness, these ladies use it as an advantage to create a thinly spreaded melody throughout. As a result, it delivers the craziness and "everywhere" feeling that Baccano! has beautifully. Let's jam. All instruments are extremely coordinated, giving one hell of a strong tune yet their individualities stay noticeable. In addition, the solo section not included in the TV-size song is one of the wildest duo I've heard. Constantly playing above the range limit yet still maintain an steady slur is extremely challenging even for professional groups (Well, they are professional so...). This is an iron-solid Jazz piece that was performed in such stylish manner for this stylish space cowboy. Fantastic. What a cool song for our Chinese Electric Batman! Assuming the Engrish is acceptable. Starting with a rather normal rock intro, it does not fail to build up to an extraordinary, smooth climax. The stylish transitions and lightning-fast guitar solo adds flavor to this already-intense piece. It is able to present the same melody in 4 different styles without sounding exaggerated or forced. Background vocals also make earthquake-effect for this shattering song. Need I say more? XD The linked song is not the full version, since no one can live without the animation~ This opening. This opening single handedly carries half of Elfen Lied's popularity. This opening is the enemy of our healthy anime community! Jokes aside, it surely has one of the most beautiful vocal that shines radiance on our shitty, pop-music filled openings. Although not the most original rhythm or dynamic, it intensifies the feels and covers the pathetic plot holes without problem. Just a perfect opening for this trash. So, why do I live? This is the perfect composition for someone who has discovered the meaning of life. With simple, yet well thought out drum beat and base line, the stage for MONORAL's wonderful soliloquy unfolds one of the most secret mystery for mankind. The climax shows the glorious Tenor voice that speaks out the deepest desire within this world. This song doesn't just get away with its melody either. Variations and sub-lyrics can be a whole new song on its own. This is an amazing song. These three ladies use their distinguished voices to create such harmony that resembles despair and glory of the fourth Holy Grail War. Wonderful composition aside, all of these voices are REAL. Just try listen to the supportless voice at 3:05, not everyone can pull that kind of flawless combination off. Such an underrated group, they deserve way more praises, they've actually got real skill to sing, unlike... (The link is an audio file, cuz Sony claimed copyright and deleted everything from youtube... )From light notes to intense yet calm rap, Yui's voice is just as dynamic as the brothers' past. I honestly want to slap the arranger, he cut out the most exciting and expressive climax out and ended the song with a mediocre ending in the TV opening. Intense yet carefully build ups with perfectly matching animation, this song is as good as a shounen op can ever get. As one of the stupidest anime ever made in history, most of its music are also stupid. But not this one. This song has made Inori Yuzuriha waifu of the year which is completely retarded, but it also shows how moving this song is. Its a shame because they changed the OP to My Dearest after only ONE episode, which has this pathetically bothering Engrish opening... Anyways, go feel it yourself. This is the only good part of this show. Although not really a big fan of angela's "agressive" look, her voice really has a decent tone to it. She masterfully transit to Falsetto. It feels weird at first but over time it stucks in head very much. The song also has a very dynamic melody with 4 different compositions and lots of variation. Starting as a rather cliche heavy metal, it adds an almost impossibly fitting male Bel canto. This strange combo surprisingly matches all the time periods Rin has been through. This song is already expressing beyond the ordinary things we see from daily life. The production does not go cheap when it comes to variety either, the crazy guitar background plays a very unique tone that never repeats itself from the first second of the song to last. Definitely unique and inspirational. NGE series is a huge contradiction to itself. Its theme song doesn't fall behind either. This song fuses 90s typical rocky composition with a almost-too-lovely motherly vocal. Known for its stupid lyrics and the unbalance between the content and music, Angel's Thesis has passed the test of time, easily one of the all time favorite songs by any anime fan. Its generic formula simply works for humans. It simply works. Only a wise wolf can pull this kind of amazing journey off. Light, simple, yet comforting piano combined with naive vocal. It is a huge pleasure to be able to enjoy this well composed, easy-going music, from life-threatening events to just eating apples. Using very basic Minuet formula, which is apparently not that basic in popular music, it presents a solid piece for Spice and Wolf, an dynamic/slice of life/romance feast. As the king of visual novel adaptations, this music, specifically made for that purpose, is no short of surprise. Combining tender female vocal with cruel mechanical sounds, it is the exact resemblance of this tearing time travelling journey. With rather simple melody, the random yet fitting machine side tracks are flaring the song up without sounding messy. This song easily grow on people and stays on them for a very long time... Who knew that icelandic people like to blow things up? This song is unique in terms of lead vocal and side noise. While sounding like supporting background, it doesn't fail to speak an emotion-filled voice. With dramatic build ups and instant stops, it stands out from the rest of generic songs by showing restful yet still intense tempo. Supposedly inspired by icelandic music, Trigger adapt the way and integrating to popular J-pop format. Impressive. EDs In alphabetical Order, Under construction Recommendations Good titles within genres. Under Construction |

Starting a club on MAL? hmmm... I am already overloaded with all the other social media at the moment. I think I need a little time to sort everything out. (I am still making a few changes in my blog as we speak)

So, I edited my about me here to direct people to my blog.
Also, I added some pics/buttons at the bottom of every post to make the navigation better. And I added names on my reviews page so that anyone can hit CtrL+F to find an anime. Thanks for the tips man. That helped a lot :D
Any more suggestions you got for me?
