Yeah dude the manga was awesome. Will you mind teaching how to use spoiler tags cause I don't know how. One of the things I like the most is how Kurosawa grew as a character, he is one of the few manga mc who I hated at the beginning but ended loving by the end. Also if you like this type manga I recommend you read Oyasumi Punpun, Aku no Hana and Chikan Otoko. They are very similar.
Whew, before I started this manga I thought 20th Century Boys was the end, and 21st was some kind of sequel or epilogue or something. I just finished 21st, it was a satisfying conclusion. I liked the note it ended on. The fact that the bowling boom still hasn't come, but God is still hoping for it, is optimistic and shows that there are still good things to come in mankind's future. Katsumata was the kid who 'died' before he got to dissect the fish, right? I was wondering how that was going to play into this.
Yeah I was constantly surprised by characters I thought were gone forever, showing up and doing something relevant. I'm on the last volume now, I'll probably finish it tonight or tomorrow... big suspense!
I'm completely loving 20th Century Boys. Such complex storytelling; it has foreshadowing, nonlinear structure, tons of interconnected characters. And yet it's all tied together so neatly. I can't imagine how much planning must have gone into it. I watched the Monster anime a while back but this is a whole different level of insane.
