On these old OVAs I always try to watch them dubbed. It's got that mid-90s "acting" stink to it. Most of the time they're not bad, but when it is it's fun. I watch multiple ones every year, not just one, that'd be no fun.

I found a true diamond in the rough. Check out Apocalypse Zero if you ever get the chance. I watched it dubbed like usual. It's a completely bonkers show, like INSANE. I wish so badly they made more episodes of it, just to see what insane stuff they'd do next.

Yea Ex-Arm lol. Chargeman Ken was ROUGH to get through. But for the most part, all I've checked out is either really really short anime or 1 hour long OVAs/Movies. It's normally not too bad to tough through to the end credits.

I really just aim for whatever is the lowest, or just one that looks interesting. Plenty of one-off OVAs were created in the 80s and 90s, so you'll never run out of content. Ex-Arm is just super low rated, in fact I think it's the lowest rated TV Anime on the site.

I usually go by the mean score. I normally know I won't find something amazing, it's just a silly tradition that I like doing every year.

I agree. As someone with ADHD, sometimes the hardest thing to do is just pressing the play button. I remember liking the Frankenstein and, recency bias, Harmageddon was pretty good. One of the producers of it went on to create Akira, and the visuals still hold up today. Other than that, at least most of the shows are funny bad.

I guess you can say that. One year I just decided to watch some horror anime movies and OVAs, but I wanted to watch the lowest rated ones, bottom of the barrel stuff. Now 6 years later it's just become a yearly tradition to watch bad/subpar shows. In my entire time, I think I recall like 2 things that were any good, or at least they were good compared to everything else I'd seen.

Yea, unfortunately. Every year for October I watch really really really bad anime. I almost was gonna drop it, but decided to watch one more episode today to see if it's as bad as I remember. Have you seen it?
