I really liked Miyu, it was dark, it left life lessons (which were delivered in a quite sad way) but nevertheless very enjoyable.

The two anime, Yuru Yuri - is about girls having fun, like K-On and Lucky Star, you're gonna love those hahahaha

As for Maria-sama, It's about a Catholic school for girls, where their "sisterly love" overlaps with Yuri, (and shipping) lots of shipping happen there for me hahaha

Have You seen Kyuuketsuhime Miyu? It's dark, but not so sad, things there are symbolic, but real enough for me to leave me feeling haunted
I've also started watching girly stuff due to the influence of my Yuri-loving friends, the Second seasons of Maria-sama ga Miteru and Yuru Yuri gave me quite the tearjerking endings, ironic for Yuru Yuri, which is a comedy show. I recommend you try those if you want smth new

but there's also Angel Beats and Ano Hana, if you really wanna cry your eyes out, I'm sure you've already seen Shigatsu have you?
