Hellsing can be considered a bit more violent and gruesome, but it has the same concept with the "living" undead, vampires, and the fact that both of the main characters fight and destroy their own race.

They're both alike with how both of the main characters are girls who have to destory/fight monsters; also, both of the monsters in them are like vampires too. Ouri and Kai are the same really, bystanders who get casted off to the side because they're "useless", per say. I found that while watching Shikabane Hime: Aka, it had some rather simliar aspects to Blood+, with the vampire(-like) concept and the fact of the "living dead."

Both of the main characters in it, Kai and Layfon, are both very much alike and are forced to become *spoilers for both of them, in a way*; they both have special powers, always seeming to be wanted by people for their power, have lots of action filled with supernatural stuff, ect... To put it blankly, they're like exact copies of eachother.

...then you might like Maria†Holic add

Although they are different in many ways (for one, Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro isn't "yuri"), they are alike by how one of the main characters (Maria & Neuro) are both insane and have a sadistic personality; there's also the fact of the other main characters in it, who are forced to become their "slaves" (Yoko & Kananko). Also, the other characters in both of these animes are constantly easily decieved. I think that wathcing Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro will remind you strongly of Maria and Kananko from Maria†Holic.

They are both comedies and use both of their "yaoi" and "yuri" and dramatize them to such a great degree, that it's plain hilarious. Although, Maria†Holic can be said to be more of an anime that has a sadistic-like humor. >> If your looking for something that's somewhat lighter in sadistic-ness and is funnier, but still like Maria†Holic, than I'd say that you should try watching Kyou Kara Maoh!

They both remind me of how the two main characters in it are kind of alike, with having the boy being shorter and the girl being taller; they both also have romance, if Maria†Holic's morbid gender bending "romance" counts. Maria†Holic is NOT a yuri anime by the way, it just uses the "yuri" and dramatizes it by a great degree that makes it hilarious.

+Anima is like Natsume Yuujinchou, but it's about a group of kids in the middle of a war with the kids being fused with animals and being enslaved because of it. It has the same saddness and no real plot.

Tista is about a girl named Tista, who is forced to fight under a messed up religious church; it's rather darker than Natsume Yuujinchou in many ways, but it has the same ideal saddness and no real plot in it.

With Cat Street, it can be considered sadder than Natsume Yuujinchou, since it's more about social outcasts; but Natsume's the same way, the only real difference is that in Cat Street, all of the main characters are socail outcasts who become friends and deal with the hard times together while going to a free school. It's more of a slice-of-life manga that's pretty normal, unlike Natsume Yuujinchou.

They're both by the same author, with the same saddness, but The Scarlet Chair has more to do with fighting in a bit of a war with no real ghosts (which, Natsume Yuujinchou has).

Kuroshitsuji is darker than Natsume Yuujinchou too, with the same saddness; don't be fooled when you start reading it, it's NOT a yaoi manga. It starts off with a few mundane stuff, but it gets better and more in depth with an inkling of a darker tale than what it appears to have.

Amatsuki contains the same ideal saddness as Natsume Yuujinchou, with having a darker tale underneath it, just like my other recommendation with Kuroshitsuji.

Cat Street is very short and sweet; it's more about the main character being outcasted for being so good at acting at a young age and than having her role in a play stolen from her. It's not something you should read if you want to read something long, but if you want something semi-short and sweet, than this is the manga for you. It reminds me of Glass Mask with the acting part of it.

...then you might like Glass no Kamen (2005) add

They're both similiar with how both of the main characters have a rival and mentor; although they have different interests, their passion for what they love doing is so great and immense that it'll almost automatically capture a person's interest after one or two episodes. They're both addicting and very good; Glass Mask and Hikaru no Go will both have you wanting more, even after you finish watching these two series, along with their sequels of course.
