What does 240p resolution videos and a can of soda left open in the fridge overnight have in common? both were decent for their time but aged horribly and lost a lot of its enjoyableness. The "comedy" as some people like to describe this show is as flat as the girls are in this show. Lucky Star is and always will be known as that show from 2007, you either had to have had to enjoy it at the time much like a can of soda and your 240p videos or you missed out. I unfortunately missed out and was 15 years too late to
...
the party. So for anyone considering watching let me tell you what you are in for.
Im not really going to spoil anything for anyone in this review because if Im quite honest there isnt anything to "spoil" for the most part. There is no character development to speak of or any real plot anyways.
Every episode is basically the same from episode 1 through 24. Konata talks about video games, anime, manga and cultural references and complains about not doing her homework, Kagami either puts on the tsundere act and scolds others usually Konata for being irresponsible and Tsukasa her younger sister. Speaking of Tsukasa she usually says something ditzy. This theme repeats in every episode and if its not the before mentioned most of each episode is just the girls talking about meaningless pointless things with the occasional cultural reference thrown in.
Its a real shame they have such cool unique characters and the writers decide to pretty much do nothing with them. Ironically enough the 2 minute or so segment with the Lucky Channel at the end of each episode is the only remotely interesting part to watch.
Still reading and I haven't convinced you on anything yet? Don't fall for the memes and expect anything extravagant or exciting to happen in this show because for the most part that wont happen. There is no slapstick there is no spontaneous humor to speak of either. If you've watched episode 1 you've pretty much watched all of the episodes, some more characters are introduced after episode 15 like Tamura who is obsessed with Yuri manga and Minami the quiet girl whose insecure about flat chested.
I dropped this show halfway through episode 1 a year ago and decided to power through it this year because I was hoping to like it after giving it a second chance, unfortunately it fell flat for me.

They say beauty runs skin deep and that saying applies to Your Lie In April. Beyond that beauty is truly something awful and that something awful is the story and the characters.
While the show has amazing art and a soundtrack it seems the author cant commit on breaking the mold and has only one foot in the water by putting romcom cliches in what is in impression supposed to be a somewhat serious emotional series. The first 12 episodes are nothing spectacular being most of it agonizing over Arima crying over his mother and not being able to play the piano well. But lets
...
get into the problems with this show.
Lets start with how the characters treat Arima, its pretty bad with how his friends treat Arima and show zero consideration for his feelings or his trauma. Its pretty sad when his rivals treat him with much more respect and dignity.
The way Kaori treated Arima was not funny it was just awful from start to finish and ended up being a major detriment to the show and its message. First she yells at him and abuses him emotionally and psychically in her selfish attempt to get him to play with her on stage, she pretends to be in love with his best friend in order to make him notice her, then in the end she writes him a letter in the end saying she was sorry all along and how much she really loved him.
His childhood friends especially Tsubaki isn't much better with her throwing a temper tantrum at Arima to give up his dreams for her own selfish feelings and who also abuses him.
There's also arcs for the side characters that end up going nowhere or they aren't properly elaborated on as well. I guess they just weren't important enough to the plot.
The double standard on how abuse is handled is also appalling as well, its bad when his mother violently beats him but somehow Kaori who is like a living 14 year old reincarnation of his mom gets a pass for putting him through the exact same thing, Its no wonder Arima didn't visit as Kaori as much as he did.
Overall if you are part of the niche audience that is into classical music than this show is likely for you, if not you are likely to end up bored most of the time watching it. Ive been told time and time again I would cry buckets upon buckets of tears over Kaori and Arima but that was barely the case for me.

There is one word to describe this season and that's "forgettable". Things happen during most of the course of this season but I cant seem to remember most of it. Very little is revealed in this season that hasn't been revealed in the first. I find it to be a show that is neither pleasant nor offensive to watch. Not only that I heard nearly no one talking about this show the 3 months it was airing which is a shame.
Majority of the characters introduced its like they picked their features out of a hat and put no thought process into it whatsoever. Then
...
again I suppose that's to be expected when your source material is a literal gacha game.
While season 2 of Priconne graces your eyes in the initial episodes with amazing animation its a novelty that quickly wears off. Sure you get "plot development" but that's not until episode 9 and even then it feels like the writers have given up where the animations during the fight scenes look like nothing more than a bunch of flashy scribbles across your screen.

You are probably looking at this review and asking yourself the big million dollar question of is Index worth watching first? My answer would be a resounding NO and let me get to the review.
To Aru Index hails from a time where being 15 and edgy was a relatively acceptable concept compared to now, after all it was 2008. Peoples views were quite a bit different and so were peoples tastes. Am I being biased here? Maybe.
You were probably told to watch Index first because you get to know the lore that way. But trust me it is not really worth torturing yourself
...
with to get it. Touma is an insufferably annoying gary stu mc who never loses and the series tries so hard to play up as a badass, hes not sorry. Then there's the endless monologuing, would it kill the characters to stfu and fight instead of talking back and forth for minutes on end?
Alright there is some brief redemption from episode 12 to about 20 where we get a Misaka and sis arc and an Accelerator/Last index arc but after that it goes straight back to being comically bad again. When the scenes are good they are alright when they are bad oh boy are they bad, like an Uwe Boll film level of comically bad.
On the plus side the animation looks pretty good for an anime from 13 years ago so its held its ground well over the years. the plot sadly I cannot say the same. Just save yourself the torment and go watch Railgun instead. Touma pretty much drags the series down sadly.

In terms of comfort animes you can't really do wrong with Senko San, Senko is certainly adorable and overall the show is heartwarming to watch. However the show isnt without its flaws.
First of all the show and the MC time and time again dances between the thin ice of being adorable and being creepy while needing to remind you every episode for some reason that Senko is 800 years old. Like the MCs obsession with Senkos tail.
Another problem the show has is that there is a plot that elaborates little and leaves quite a lot to imagination, the plot mainly consists of the
...
MC going to work, being sad because of it and Senko cheering him up/ pampering him. That's it, that's what most of your episodes in Senko consist of. We also get next to nothing in terms of character development. We get characters that are introduced but not much is explained about them let alone their backgrounds.
Overall while I did enjoy this show and I want to be clear that I in no way dislike it either. Its flaws overall dont make it good enough to me to make it into my all time favorites list and it felt like another flavor of the season anime.

I watched this over a year ago and despite the main girl being unconventional in design I still enjoyed it nonetheless.
First off short stack girls exist irl, deal with it Twitter. second off Uzaki is 20 years old which makes her legal drinking age in Japan so shes definitely not a child. The series is a nice change of pace from your typical high school romcom fare where at least the main girl is not an abusive violent tsundere the writers and the audience try to play off for cuteness points. Im looking at you Nisekoi and Toradora.
Despite Uzaki being annoying she at
...
least cares for the MC and tries her best to get him to come out of his shell. I find romcoms dont do this very often and just take the easy way out by having the main girl bully the MC and use that for character development.

Non Non Biyori hits it out of the park with its third and final season. Season 3 of NNB to me imo was by far the best season out of all three and was the most intense.
Multi season shows often tend to falter at some point but NNB not only held strong but exceeded expectations. Im sad that this series is over but im glad to have been on the journey to see it through to the end nonetheless.
If you are looking for a comfy show where kids can be kids for once instead of being forced into adult like roles for entertainment
...
like many other animes you definitely wont go wrong with this series.

Lets just start this off by saying im not normally a fan of shonen and that I loved season 1, I really felt like the studio that made that season really hit it out of the park.
Then 2019 comes around and this stupid, ugly and pointless sequel comes along to not only majorly disappoint but completely disregard and throw away everything that made the first season great.
The animation is a major downgrade and everyone other than the S class heroes are completely useless this season. They all might as well be C class it seeing as it makes no difference at all. In every
...
battle Saitama shows up and wins the fight with extreme ease because ofc he does, his fights are also very predictable and extremely underwhelming because he just shows up at the last second and its over before it can even begin.

ReLife is to put it simply wish fulfillment done correctly. This series is for the older anime fan who wonders what it would have been like to go back to high school and do things differently if they were given the chance.
To answer that question it would seem that going back is much harder than one would think. A lot changes in a decade and it turns out adjusting is not easy.
Throughout Aratas journey we get many plot twists and turns each one more satisfying than the last. We even get a satisfying ending with the MCs story concluding which not too many

romcom series seem to do.

This is what fans waited 7 years for and what a disappointment the wait for this season was.
While season 1 had its lightheartnedness and was an interesting watch and season 2 had the drama going for it season 3 had neither of those things. Watching all 12 episodes felt like a chore and it was boring to the point of wanting to fall asleep.
We have a prom which the PTA are deadset against according to Yukinos mother and sister but they never elaborate on what the problem even is in the first place. Speaking of Yukinos sister does she need to be everywhere? Does
...
she even have an actual job or anything better to do? Seriously it was annoying the previous seasons she was constantly buzzing around and its even moreso in season 3.
So what does this season have going for it? Not much sadly. For 12 episodes you have the characters endlessly agonize over how to plan this prom and Yuis/Yukinos wish in the last 4 episodes. After awhile Hachimans endless monologuing gets old which further adds to how much this season is going to annoy you.
And you want to know what this entire season was known for? Yui crying, we waited 7 years to see a fictional girl cry and even that was only a minute out of the entire season. Even that in itself was underwhelming.
On a final note the only girl that seemed like a good match was Shizuka who unfortunately is a teacher, She seemed like the perfect match for Hachi. Such a shame really as is this entire season.
