First off short stack girls exist irl, deal with it Twitter. second off Uzaki is 20 years old which makes her legal drinking age in Japan so shes definitely not a child. The series is a nice change of pace from your typical high school romcom fare where at least the main girl is not an abusive violent tsundere the writers and the audience try to play off for cuteness points. Im looking at you Nisekoi and Toradora.
Despite Uzaki being annoying she at least cares for the MC and tries her best to get him to come out of his shell. I find romcoms dont do this very often and just take the easy way out by having the main girl bully the MC and use that for character development.
