Man, where do I even start? I just finished Witch Craft Works and I'm still reeling from that adorable finale. I know, I know, it's a 2014 anime, but I'm fashionably late to the party.
I'll admit, the premise had me sold - good witches vs. bad witches, magical action, and a dash of romance. The story follows Takamiya, your average high school guy, and Kagari, the school's resident ice queen (literally). What I loved was how the show made both Takamiya and Kagari the main protagonists. It's not just Takamiya's story; Kagari's mysterious past and growth are just as important.
Now, about Kagari's facial expressions -
...
or lack thereof. At first, I thought she was just a beautiful cardboard cutout, but as the series progressed, I started noticing subtle changes. Her stoic demeanor began to crack, revealing a softer side, especially around Takamiya. Their chemistry is undeniable, and I shipped them hard.
The storyline's engaging, but it's not without its flaws. Pacing can be slow, and some episodes feel like filler. However, the world-building and magical system are well-developed. The supporting cast is likable, particularly the Workshop Witches.
Music-wise, it's not memorable, but it gets the job done. Animation's nice, especially during action scenes. The 2014 visuals hold up surprisingly well.
What struck me was how Witch Craft Works balances action, comedy, and romance. It's not overly complex, but it's an enjoyable ride. The movie, which I watched after finishing the series, tied up loose ends nicely.
Overall, Witch Craft Works is a solid 7/10. It won't blow your mind, but it's a cozy watch. If you're in the mood for something light-hearted with a touch of magic, give it a shot.
Random thought: Watching this in 2024, exactly 10 years after its release, made me realize how far anime has come. Yet, Witch Craft Works charm remains.

As an avid fan of the Isekai genre, I was blown away by the unique twist on the typical transported to a game world trope.
The story follows Diablo, a top-tier gamer in Cross Reverie, who's magically summoned to the game world by two adorable girls, Rem and Shera. What ensues is an epic adventure filled with action, magic, and self-discovery.
The Good:
- The animation, while not mind-blowing (7/10), feels authentic and immersive, especially for gamers. The magic spells and fight scenes are thrilling and well-choreographed.
- The storyline is engaging, with Diablo facing formidable bosses and saving the day (and his new friends).
- Music: catchy and fitting
...
for the fantasy world.
- Comedy: spot-on, with Diablo's reactions to the girls' advances being priceless!
The Not-So-Good (But Still Enjoyable):
- Ecchi content: present, but tastefully done and not overly explicit.
- Harem tag: misleading, as Diablo's oblivious to romance and focuses on the adventure.
What Makes This Anime Shine:
- Diablo's character development: from a socially awkward gamer to a confident hero.
- The world-building: Cross Reverie's lore and politics are intriguing and well-explored.
- Nostalgic value: as a gamer, I loved the nods to MMO culture and terminology.
Personal Verdict:
After devouring Friren, Banished from Hero's Party, and Witch Craft Works, this anime solidifies its spot as my third favorite Isekai series. If you're a gamer or Isekai enthusiast, you'll adore this show.
Recommendation:
Watch it if:
- You enjoy Isekai, fantasy, or gaming-themed anime.
- You're looking for a lighthearted, action-packed adventure.
- You appreciate comedic relief and quirky characters.
Skip it if:
- You're sensitive to ecchi content or prefer more serious, dramatic storylines.
Overall, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is an entertaining, feel-good anime that will captivate gamers and Isekai fans alike. Give it a try!

I'll be honest, Giji Harem left me underwhelmed. As a romance anime enthusiast, I thought I'd found my next obsession. Instead, I got a simplistic, predictable storyline that failed to deliver emotional depth.
The premise sounds cute: girl crushes on senpai, senpai falls in love, they confess, and get married. But trust me, it's not. The conversations between Eiji and Rin dominate 95% of the screen time, making it feel like an endless, sappy date.
I nearly dropped it by episode 5, but my curiosity kept me going. The only redeeming quality is Rin's multiple personalities - tsundere, cute, cool, and devil. It's entertaining to see her
...
adapt to Eiji's desires. But Eiji himself? Mediocre face, talentless except for drawing, and utterly dependent on Rin.
What bothers me is the lack of:
1. Character development: Eiji and Rin feel like cardboard cutouts.
2. Conflict: No real obstacles or challenges in their relationship.
3. Emotional connection: I didn't feel invested in their love story.
I've watched better romance anime with more nuanced storytelling and memorable characters. Giji Harem feels like a missed opportunity.
Pros:
1. Unique concept (Rin's multiple personalities)
2. No unnecessary fan service or ecchi content
3. Refreshing change from typical harem anime tropes
Cons:
1. Weak storyline
2. Underdeveloped characters
3. Lack of emotional depth
Recommendation: Only for die-hard romance fans seeking a lighthearted, easy watch.
Final Thoughts: Would I rewatch it? Probably not. Would I recommend it to friends? Only if they're desperate for a romance anime fix.
Rating Breakdown:
Story: 4/10
Characters: 5/10
Romance: 8/10
Overall Enjoyment: 5/10
Total: 5/10
This anime won't stay with me for long, but hey, at least it tried.

This anime is a rare gem that captivated me from episode one to the very end. I couldn't think about anything else; my mind was consumed by the mystery, suspense, and emotional depth.
When I first heard about this anime, I thought, "What's the fuss about?" Released in 2016, it was a huge hit, and everyone was talking about it. Now, I understand why. The perfect blend of mystery, physiological thriller, supernatural elements, suspense, and time travel had me hooked.
The story follows Satoru Fujinuma, a 29-year-old manga artist with a unique ability called "Revival." He's sent back in time to prevent tragedies, but when wrongfully accused
...
of murder, he's transported 18 years back to 1988. His mission: uncover the truth behind the abduction and killing of his classmate, Kayo Hinazuki.
What struck me most was the anime's thought-provoking theme: "Be careful whom you choose to trust. Sometimes, the biggest betrayal comes from those closest to us." This resonated deeply, and I found myself reflecting on my own relationships.
Some reviewers criticized the romance aspect, but I strongly disagree. This anime isn't about romance; it's about Satoru's selfless quest to protect Kayo and unravel the truth. His connection with Kayo is beautifully portrayed as a deep friendship, not romance.
The ending hinted at a potential partner for Satoru, but I won't spoil it. Let's just say it's satisfying and well-executed.
Standout aspects:
- Engaging storyline with unexpected twists
- Well-developed characters, especially Satoru and Kayo
- Emotional depth and resonance
- Suspenseful and thrilling plot
- Thought-provoking themes
Favorite moments:
- Satoru's first "Revival" experience
- Kayo's backstory and struggles
- The shocking truth reveals
Recommendation:
If you enjoy psychological thrillers, mystery, and suspense, "Boku dake ga Inai Machi" is a must-watch. Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster, and don't expect a typical romance.
Final verdict:
10/10. This anime has left an indelible mark on my mind and heart. It's a masterpiece that will stay with me forever.
Watch it, and experience the thrill for yourself!

This anime exceeded my expectations in every way, and I'm thrilled to share my thoughts.
As a fan of school rom-coms, I was hooked from the first episode. The characters are expertly crafted, with each one bringing their own unique flavor to the story. Alya, our solitary princess, stole my heart with her quirky antics and hidden vulnerability. Masachika, the male protagonist, won me over with his charming smile and complex past (which, oh man, ripped my heart apart). Yuki's brother complex added a delightful layer of humor, while Maria's kindness and beauty made her an instant favorite.
What struck me most was how evenly paced the
...
character development was. No one felt like a side character; everyone had their moment to shine. The writing was superb, balancing humor and heartache seamlessly.
Now, Masachika's childhood history? That's a tough pill to swallow. I won't spoil it, but let's just say it's connected to a major plot point that left me speechless. The pain he carries is palpable, and I applaud the creators for tackling such heavy themes.
Season 1's conclusion left me on edge, eagerly anticipating Season 2 (thankfully already in production!). That cliffhanger, though! I need resolution, stat!
Highlights:
- Well-developed, relatable characters
- Perfect blend of humor and emotional depth
- Engaging storyline with unexpected twists
- Stunning animation and soundtrack
Overall, Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelingsis an exceptional school rom-com that will capture your heart. With its lovable characters, witty dialogue, and poignant storytelling, it's a must-watch for fans of the genre.
Bring on Season 2!
Favorite Quote: "Even if I hide my feelings, my heart won't lie." - Alya
Favorite Character: Alya (closely followed by Maria)
Recommendation: If you enjoy school rom-coms like "Toradora!" or "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU," you'll adore "Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings.

This hidden gem has left me smiling, laughing, and even tearing up a bit. As someone who's grown skeptical of romance anime, this series completely won me over.
The premise intrigued me. I was worried it'd be cheesy or cringeworthy, but trust me, it's anything but. Our protagonist, Takuma, is relatable and endearing. His past heartbreak makes his journey with Mina, the female robot, all the more poignant.
Mina's character development is phenomenal. From her initial kitchen-assistant programming to gradually exhibiting emotions, I found myself rooting for her. Their relationship's progression feels organic and genuine, making their interactions adorable and heartfelt.
What struck me was how well the
...
anime balanced lighthearted moments with deeper themes. Takuma's family accepting Mina as his partner warmed my heart, and their jealousy-fueled moments had me blushing and chuckling.
The animation is sleek, and the soundtrack is infectious. That opening song still has me humming along (I'm guilty of replaying it multiple times). The ending theme, too, is ridiculously cute.
Special mention to Konomi, Mina's voice actress - your performance brought Mina to life!
This series deserves more love. It's underrated, but its thoughtful storytelling and lovable characters make it a must-watch. I'm craving an OVA or movie to explore more of Takuma and Mina's daily life.
If you're looking for a feel-good, unique romance anime, look no further. "Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga Nai" will capture your heart.
Favorite Moments:
- Takuma's drunken confession
- Mina's first emotional response
- Takuma's family's heartwarming acceptance
Favorite Quote:
"I want to be with you, Mina." - Takuma
Recommendation: If you enjoyed "Clannad," "Toradora!", or "March Comes in Like a Lion," you'll adore this.
Give this hidden gem a chance. You won't regret it!

I'll admit, I was hesitant to dive into this anime. Harem shows aren't usually my cup of tea, but The 100 Girlfriends anime blew me away!
Rentarou's story hooked me from the start. The poor guy's been rejected 100 times, and his luck changes when the god of the matchmaking shrine foretells he'll meet 100 soulmates in high school.
What I loved most was how the girls didn't become rivals; instead, they formed genuine bonds with each other, accepting and supporting one another.
The characters are incredibly well-developed and mature. Rentarou's exceptional qualities make him worthy of their affection, and I appreciated how he cared for each girl
...
equally. No favoritism or shallow relationships here!
My favorite? That's tough! All the girls are adorable, but Shizuka stole my heart. Her shyness, petite size, and reliance on books to communicate made her irresistibly cute.
What worked:
- Unique take on the harem genre
- Well-developed, relatable characters
- Refreshing focus on friendship and mutual respect among the girls
- Rentarou's exceptional qualities make him a believable "harem king"
What didn't:
- Supporting characters deserved more screen time
Overall, "The 100 Girlfriends" surprised me with its thoughtful storytelling, lovable characters, and healthy relationships. If you're looking for a harem anime that defies expectations, give this a try!
Favorite Quote: "Love isn't about being number one; it's about being together." - Rentarou Aijou

This anime's a weird mix of hilarious, cringeworthy, and surprisingly heartfelt moments.
As a fan of ecchi comedies, I went in expecting something light-hearted and fun. And, for the most part, Kiss x Sis delivered. The dynamic between Keita and his step-sisters, Riko and Ako, is ridiculous and entertaining. Their antics had me laughing out loud more times than I can count.
But what caught me off guard was the genuine emotional depth. Amidst all the fan service and slapstick humor, the show explores themes of family, love, and acceptance. It's not always subtle, but it's sincere.
Now, I know some people will write off Kiss x Sis
...
as just another ecchi anime. And, yeah, it's definitely not for everyone. But I think that'd be selling it short. The characters are lovable, despite (or because of) their quirks. Keita's reactions to his sisters' affections are painfully relatable.
The Good:
- Laugh-out-loud humor
- Lovable, quirky characters
- Surprisingly heartfelt moments
The Not-So-Good:
- Some humor might be off-putting
- Not for everyone (definitely 18+)
Overall, Kiss x Sis won't win any awards for subtlety or complexity, but it's a fun, feel-good watch. If you're in the mood for something light-hearted and ecchi, give it a shot.
Rating: 7/10
Would I recommend it? Yeah, to fans of ecchi comedies or those looking for something lighthearted. Just be aware of what you're getting into.
P.S. Watch it with headphones, trust me.

Kiss x Sis is a provocative ecchi anime that explores the complex relationships between step-siblings Keita, Riko, and Ako. This 2010 series walks the fine line between risqué humor and heartfelt moments.
The story follows Keita, a high school student, as he navigates his life with his two step-sisters, who are utterly smitten with him. Their parents' unconventional approach to their relationship adds to the chaos.
Kiss x Sis balances ecchi elements with genuine comedy, relatable school scenes, and tender romance. The characters are lovable, despite their quirks. Riko and Ako's antics provide plenty of laughs, while Keita's reactions are painfully relatable.
Pros:
- Hilarious comedy moments
- Endearing characters
-
...
Good animation for 2010
Cons:
- Over-the-top ecchi content (not for everyone)
- Some plot points feel forced or clichéd
Verdict:
Kiss x Sis is an acquired taste, but if you're in the mood for something lighthearted and risqué, this might be the anime for you. Just remember: headphones are your best friend.
Would I recommend it? Sure, but only to those who know what they're getting into.

This anime has cemented its place as one of my all-time favorites, and I'm eager to share why.
First off, let's talk about Gideon (Red), our lovable main character. He's not your typical OP protagonist, but his determination and resourcefulness make him incredibly relatable. I love how he's not afraid to get his hands dirty and will do whatever it takes to protect those he cares about. Plus, his romance with Rit is beautifully developed – no rushed or forced moments here!
Gideon's sister, Ruti, is also a wonderful character, and her interactions with Gideon are heartwarming. Her acceptance of Rit as Gideon's partner is beautifully handled,
...
avoiding typical sibling complex tropes.
The setting, while familiar, has a refreshing twist that sets it apart from other fantasy anime. The world-building is rich and immersive, with intriguing lore that adds depth to the story. I particularly appreciate how the show balances action, comedy, suspense, and emotional moments seamlessly.
One of the most impressive aspects is the pacing – not a single weak episode! Each one stands on its own, with no filler or unnecessary plot twists. The storytelling is expertly crafted, culminating in a satisfying conclusion that doesn't leave you hanging.
The soundtrack is also noteworthy – that OP and ED are absolute bangers! I found myself humming the tunes long after the episodes ended.
What truly sets this anime apart, though, is its ability to balance lighthearted moments with more serious themes. It's a true masterclass in storytelling.
If I have one complaint, it's that the light novel title is a mouthful (try recommending it to someone without getting tongue-tied!).
In conclusion, Banished from the Hero's Party season 2 is a must-watch. With its engaging story, lovable characters, and impeccable pacing, it's an anime that will captivate you from start to finish.
