I really enjoyed Plastic Memories. That doesn't mean it was my favorite, but it was definitely a nice way to pass the time.

Upon watching the show, I thought that it would be a really deep tear-jerker and that it would almost turn out like Your Lie in April (no spoilers!), but it was a lighter romantic comedy. The anime mostly follows the plot of Tsukasa and Isla, but when there are bits of comedy, it's like comedy gold. I laughed a lot at this anime, and again, it was a lighter anime, rather than a deep, heartbreaking tear-jerker.

The art was beautiful. I loved how ... the characters looked, and also the character development that was put into them. The way that the characters interact really makes and ties the whole story together.

All in all, I really enjoyed this show. I would definitely recommend it!

I picked this show up after watching Your Lie in April. If you don't know what that is, 1.) you live under a rock and YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT 2.) it's basically the saddest romantic comedy you will ever watch. So naturally, I needed a lighter anime to watch, and I found myself watching Toradora.

I didn't think that I'd love Toradora as much as I did. The romantic comedy had me laughing, and it definitely made me feel lighter after watching Your Lie in April. I loved the plot, and despite the series being released basically a decade ago, it really reminds me of ... my life as a high schooler. Feelings were all over the place, everything seemed like a huge mess- yet, the producers pulled it all together to make it an amazing show. I loved the ending as well, but it made me a little sad that they didn't give me more closure (as always).

The character development in this show is impeccable. I loved the characters in the show; all of them were so different in any way, but they all came together as friends and I loved that aspect of it.

Overall, this is an amazing show and I loved it. It seems like a habit for me to read the manga after watching the anime. So looks like I'll be reading the manga/light novel next. :3

This show broke my heart. And forgive me, for not knowing how to explain this, but I’ll try the best I can:

Truthfully, I was recommended this show by a friend. I didn’t have any interest in watching at first, but as I pressed the “play” button, I never came to realize the effect that it would have on me. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a musician myself, but I understand the struggle that Kousei had to go through. His self-doubt and feeling like he wasn’t enough really resonated with me. But just think, the emotional toll it would have on you if you ... were raised as a child prodigy but at the cost of questioning your self-worth, especially if you weren’t doing it for yourself, but rather, for someone else.

I think a huge aspect of this anime is having something that you can’t have- and that really struck a chord with me, and I think that’s what really broke my heart when watching the show. It’s really hard to write a review on this anime without spoilers, but you ever know when you’re watching a show and you wish that you could talk to the characters and just interfere? Never have I felt that need more while watching this show.

I’m not a very emotional person when it comes to tv and movies, but this one had me constantly tearing up. I don’t know how to explain it, but I FELT what the characters in this show we’re going through. No, I haven’t been put in the same situation as Kousei, but it’s just so gut-wrenching when an anime— or any show for that matter— can make you feel the emotions of the characters themselves. And I think that’s what the producers were trying to do with this, and it really, truly, tore me apart. In a lot of the scenes, I cried FOR the character, because inside, I just KNEW how they felt and what they were going through. I don’t want to spoil it, so I won’t say much, but in the ending, I cried out loud.

I think I’ll need a while to process this show before I rewatch it again. You don’t have to be a prodigy musician to understand or relate to the show because the themes itself are already to relatable. But just know, personally, I think that this is one of those shows that will rock your world and make you view everything differently than you did before.

However, I'm going to break my heart even more by reading the manga, because watching the show just wasn’t enough for me.

I was recommended this anime after watching CHOYOYU (High School Prodigies Have it Easy Even in Another World). Either way, I really enjoyed this anime. It was exciting and I had to keep watching the next episode. Simply put, I couldn't put it down!

However, I do feel that the plot was a little generic and unoriginal. But it was spun into a way that still made it interesting to watch. I don't think it deserves the low rating it has now, but I don't think that it was the BEST anime I've watched. I think that this show had the potential to be better, and ... the producers could've weaved something original into the show, but they kinda failed to do that. However, I still liked this anime and it was really interesting! I would recommend!

Hoping there's a season 2!

I know this is a somewhat old show (it's been, what, 13 years?), but still one of my favorites. I did watch this when I was younger, but not really understanding themes and concepts in the show (even though this is a show targeted towards kids). However, I recently went back to rewatch this show and I can't explain how much I missed it. It is truly the epitome of my childhood.

I love the plot- it's genius. I don't know what the producers were thinking when they made this show, but they definitely created a masterpiece.

The characters... don't even get me started. The character ... development is great! You can tell how much the characters and their personalities were thought about when creating the show. It really makes for quite an interesting anime.

All in all, this is one of my favorite magical-girl shows up to date. It's been a while, but I'm glad I finally rewatched it again.

Now, if you still don't understand how much I love this show, I based my whole MAL profile around it. My username, my profile pic, you get the point. If you're wishy-washy about watching this show, just go for it! It won't hurt watching an episode, and chances are, you'll actually enjoy it! YOLO!! :)

OMG. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW!!

So many people here have been talking about how this show sucks because "they're not scared even though they're in another world" or it's "just not that realistic" or "it's too average." WELL, this show isn't a so-called "deep" type of show; while some themes are displayed throughout the show, its not supposed to be a show where you ponder life questions for hours on end about. It's a show meant for your enjoyment, not for education purposes or whatever.

I don't know why people think the plot is bad, personally, it's very interesting for me.

The characters are amazing. I ... don't get why people constantly have to say "IT'S NOT REALISTIC!". OF COURSE it's not realistic! It's 7 high school prodigies who get stuck in another world! But that aside, the characters , again, are just plain amazing. Their skills and abilities are so advanced, and just watching them defeat an obstacle or opponent is just so satisfying. The fact that they are able to stand up to people who don't believe in what they do literally has me standing up and cheering for them every time they prove someone wrong.

I have yet to read the manga or light novel (whichever one is in english), but to get my fill after watching this show, I'm going to go to amazon right after this and download the book to my kindle app (and then maybe I'll come back and talk about how the manga is better than the anime or vice versa- no spoilers, though!).

If you still don't get how much I enjoy this show, I just spent an hour researching if/when a season 2 comes out.



UPDATE: I finished reading the manga. Yes, I finished all 7 books (up tp date) in one day. I know that the anime was based off of the manga, so the manga helped supplement my understanding of things that came across as confusing in the actual show. The manga was really amazing, and I'm glad I was able to see what happened after the ending of episode 12 of the anime (if you've watched the show, you know what I'm talking about). I really really hate when shows are left on a cliffhanger with no promise of another season, so reading the manga was exactly what I needed. Would recommend the anime to those who have enjoyed the manga (because there's nothing better than seeing it in color with actually movement, right?), and the manga to those who have enjoyed the anime. But reviewing the manga is a whole different review, so I'm going to stop here.

Anyway, if the producers of the anime see this review, please make a season 2!! I'm dying to see what happens next, even if I have completed the manga up to date.
