Forgotten Horror, Chapter 3: Hengentai Mayakou Karura Mau! Nara Onryou Emaki

I welcome you, once again, to this humble cycle in which we rediscover and enjoy movies and OVA that fell into the most unjust of forgetfulness. The piece chosen for this occasion changes the typical suspense of the genre, and focus more in direct and traditional action (with some glorious gore, obviously), spiced with several Buddhist elements. Ladies, gentlemen this is Hengentai Mayakou Karura Mau! Nara Onryou Emaki (which roughly translate to Transformation Repel Evil Night Travel Karura Dances!), or, from now on, Karura Mau.

The story... well, Ikeda family is ...

And is finally here. After four months of waiting, the final episode of Persona 4, where all the loose ends are tied and all the answers are given, is here. The moment of truth, resolution, explanations and final battles... and all that in only thirty minutes... damn it...

Ok, this is episode 26, and takes exactly in the moment prior to the final scene of the series: the case was solved, and Yuu Narukami prepares to return to his home. On the day before his departure, his friends made him a farewell party, where we see the whole gang ...

Football Chronicles, Chapter 3: Ginga e Kickoff!!
Note: some football animes will be named in this review for the sake of comparison. This is, mostly, to see how the game is faced in each series. Of course, no spoilers.
Also, football as the real, english one (aka soccer), not the American one.

Ginga e Kickoff!! (GeK!) is the latest football bet offered in 2012. Gek! was a really pleasant surprise, not only for the release itself, but because there was already another football anime airing at the time: Area no Kishi (technically three, with Inazuma Eleven Go 2... but IE is... special). Maybe ...

Akumu no Elevator (AnE) is a two chapters manga made by Hanta Kinoshita. Without a doubt, this was one of the most pleasant surprises I found in a long time...

Jun Ogawa's life is about to change: his wife just phones him to tell that the baby is ready to leave her belly! Just one problem: at that time, Jun was in his mistress apartment...So, after apologizing, he runs to fulfill his role as the ideal husband. He called the nearest elevator and... everything turned black. When he finally awakes, he realizes that he is inside the elevator, with three other ...

Mixed Feelings
Esta review también está en español.

It's late. You're finally out of work, school or whatever, and you are going home. Its dark outside, and kind of intimidating. And suddenly, you feel, you think, you're almost certain:

"I'm being followed"

That damn sensation we all feel at one point, in which someone is dangerously close to us... this one shot is about that feeling.

Kaerimichi (or, if you prefer, The Way Home) is a six page story in which this issue is explored. The protagonist, a young adult, feels that he's followed when he passes near an abandoned house. When he got home, he comments that to his little ...

The feeling of dread and anticipation that precedes the horrifying experience. That's terror. It's a terrible feeling, which can paralyze or even kill you. However, in a controlled dose, fear can be... fun. For some reason, many people (including me) enjoy being scared... so, when I saw the name of this one shot, I was instantly attracted.

Terror's story is about a girl who's disturbed every night by a strange visitor. Every midnight, when she tries to sleep, hears footsteps and other weird sounds that get closer and closer, and...

...well, enough. Since this only has nine pages, more details would ruin ...

A constant in the anime industry is that, in most cases the animated series are based on a manga, a novel or a video game... but there are special cases. Samurai Champloo is one of the exceptions to this rule. Directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (perhaps you know his previous work, Cowboy Bebop), Champloo was a great success, thanks for its excellent mix of action, comedy and hip hop music. And since this one was an original production, a manga was created to exploit another media. But instead of being a simple adaptation, this manga is totally original, with new stories ...

After Ring no Kakero, his first great success as an author, Masami Kurumada created another battle shonen series, this time focused on ninja clans (in which, obviously, no member is older than fifteen years old) fighting to death, using ingenious and crazy techniques: Fuuma no Kojirou (FnK). In this series, many elements will be born and reused in what will be Mr Kurumada's masterpiece: Saint Seiya. Yasha-hen is the first set of OVA, and adapts the first story arc of the manga (there's also a second set, Seiken Sensou-hen, and a final OVA, Fuuma Hanran-hen). Despite being a series ...

WARNING: despite being a prequel, I really think it's recommendable to have read/watched the original work before Zero. There are so many details that might ruin the first series if you pay a minimal attention (I even had to edit the synopsis of this page, cause it contained spoilers!). So, don't read Zero unless you know the whole story of Another. Understood? Great.

Another 0's story focuses on Kouchi's aunt during her experience with the calamity. Reiko is an ordinary high school girl, that likes to draw until late in night, and has not the vaguest idea of what she wants ...

"Basically, it’s a question of how many variations of stories I can come up with that revolve around shit and sex."
Ladies and gentlemen, Shintaro Kago. For those who doesn't have the pleasure of knowing him, Mr Kago is famous for the combination of extreme violence (guro and gorn are two terms that are handy when describing his job) with extremly bizarre and scatological humor and some sexual content. In other words, not safe for work, people. So, if ridiculous violence and delusional madness are not your thing, you can stop reading now. If, on the other hand, you like ...
