I usually write reviews either because I hate it or love it. In this case, it’s the latter.
I’m so in love with Mo Dao Zu Shi in general, (not just the animation) and I’ve started reading the novel and caught up on the currently translated Manhua. [SPOILER-FREE]
Story: 10
If you haven’t read the novel or Manhua, (like me—because I started with the anime/donghua) then it might be a bit confusing at first but you’ll get the gist of it. I personally started reading the novel and Manhua, and they give more explanations and you’ll appreciate the story more.
This is a BL/Shounen Ai Story, so
...
if you’re not into that, then watch something else. (Spread love, not hate)
The story is, so far, heavily focused on flashbacks. Only the first 2 episodes are set in “the present”. I am currently on episode 9 and it’s still a flashback, so it’s a bit slow-paced. However, all the episodes are action-packed and it’s hard to look away.
[Also, Mo XuanYu and Wei Wuxian look VERY similar and I got confused as well, but I believe Wei Wuxian’s body has a longer ponytail.]
Character: 10
Everyone has a distinct character, despite some characters looking the same—you can tell them apart. Wei Wuxian is very fun protagonist to watch—he’s a troublemaker who likes to tease people and isn’t afraid to speak his mind.
Art: 10
This was what attracted me. The setting is in Ancient China and I’m in love with their clothes, architecture, etc. (All were flawlessly animated.) Everything was smooth and literally everyone is beautiful and eye candy.
Sound: 10
Although the Chinese voice acting is a bit new to me (this is only my second Chinese Animation), I got used to it and it actually sounds nice! The voice actors were very expressive in their tone of voice, which I sometimes found lacking in some Chinese voice/actors.
The background music, OP & ED were like heaven to my ears. The main characters also play instruments (flute/guqin) which sounded so badass.

I don't usually like the plot of sports animes (I only watch for the bishies), but Haikyuu brings something worthwhile to the table, and it's not just the hot guys.
Story: 10
A highschool student gets inspired by a volleyball player he saw on TV. He strives to go to the Nationals and win. It's a pretty simple plot, but there's so much more to it.
At first, I didn't expect much, but Haikyuu really surprised me. I rode a roller coaster of human emotions. This anime goes through feelings of winning, losing, and striving to do better next time.
Art: 10
The character designs fit the characters' personality
...
just right. They were very expressive, and for the comedic moments, they use chibis. Also, HOT GUYS. HOT GUYS EVERYWHERE.
The animation was outstanding. They didn't reuse the images for multiple frames (even for the EDs, which are infamous for reusing images), unlike some other animes.
Sound: 9
The OPs were the type to get you hyped up. (Well, it IS a sports anime, after all.) The EDs were decent-- I just liked the OPs better, though.
The Japanese voice actors portrayed the emotions of the characters so well, and they fit the characters' designs. Good job, casting director.
Character: 10
All of them had their own distinct personality, and the way they interacted with each other were all so precious and funny. Also, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!! <<They were done so right.
Enjoyment & Overall: 10
I loved it more than I thought I would. I delayed watching this anime for a long time because of that notion. I wasn't disappointed.

To be honest, I only watched this because I lost a bet with my friend. She was really obsessed with this anime, so I gave it a go.
I almost puked. Okay, well maybe I'm exaggerating, but it did make me feel nauseous.
Story: 1
There isn't one.
Every episode, some small crime happens, and Misaka & company take down thugs who are wimps. EVERY EPISODE.
They try to make the action scenes look cool, but it just looks lame. There isn't much of a challenge-- An OP girl vs. A weak thug who just stole some money.
Art: 5
Just your typical anime art-- big
...
eyes, and to be honest, they all pretty much look the same. The males were ugly as hell-- definitely not bishounen.
Sound: 2
I didn't like the OP or the ED. The soundtrack wasn't amazing because I barely noticed it.
Character: 2
Even though this isn't tagged as a yuri/shoujo ai, it might as well be. One of the girls is practically throwing herself at Misaka. The characters are very plain and boring; it's the same old anime tropes. The OP one, the quiet one, the weak one who is jealous of everyone else, and the annoying guy who turns out to be strong.
Enjoyment & Overall: 1

I really love this anime, since I'm someone who likes musicals, reverse harems, and... hot anime guys.
Story: 9
An ordinary girl's life changed when she found out that this mysterious "grimoire" resided in her. Her mom was kidnapped by a vampire. These demons offer help to find her mom, but basically harasses her for 7 episodes. But, all in all, it's pretty decent.
Art & Character: 10
Beautiful. The characters are basically a work of art. Even now, I still find it difficult to choose JUST one guy. The character designs suit the personalities of the characters very well. They are all unique and very distinct. The character
...
development is nothing short of splendid-- it made me change opinions of one character (and it made me squeal in my seat, so yeah-- it moved me that it made me react strongly).
Sound: 10
As a person who adores musicals, this rare anime would be put in my collection. The songs are pretty catchy, and the transitions from the dialogue to the singing were not awkward. Every song and OP/ED was perfect. The Japanese voice actors did an amazing job. Their voices were breathtaking.
Enjoyment & Overall: 10
To be honest the only reason I watched this anime was because of Hirakawa Daisuke (Shiki's voice actor). I didn't expect much from it; I thought it was going to be similar to Diabolik Lovers. It didn't disappoint me.

I really hated this anime before. I'm so glad I gave it a second chance. Now, it's one of my favourites.
Story: 10
The story is set in a dystopian world where giant human-like creatures (Titans) try to annihilate the human race. One day, Titans invade the main character's (Eren) district. Because of revenge, Eren strives to eliminate all Titans. At first, I didn't really like the story. But as the story developed, I got engrossed.
Art: 10
The art was beautiful. It showed their expressions very clearly. The landscape and bird's eye views gave me a clear picture of the setting. The characters were also nicely drawn. The
...
colours were realistic--not too colourful. And may I just say--Levi was sublimely drawn. I can see why people like him so much.
Sound: 9
The voice actors/actresses did an amazing job bringing their character to life; I'm talking about the Japanese version. The voices suited the characters well--not one was out of place. The first OP and ED were awesome-- the visuals, and how the visuals went along with the beat of the music. However, I gave it a 9 because of the second OP; I just think that it was too happy/hopeful for my taste. Nevertheless, I just prefer the first OP than the second.
Character: 10
The characters were unique, and they all had their own little quirks. Their personalities went well with the art. Most of them were badass-- they're just so cool. Need I say more?
Enjoyment and Overall: 10
Though I didn't enjoy it at first, I'm glad I gave it a chance. I think I'm going to be obsessed with this anime for a while.
Ultimately, this is a great anime.

How to be happy: watch Hunter x Hunter
How to be sad: finish Hunter x Hunter
This is one of those animes that leave you craving for more. (Yes, even after 148 episodes.) **Spoiler Free**
Story: 9
This is about a 12-year-old boy who sets out on a journey to find his father and become a Hunter like him. He's an unpolished diamond, but his character develops and refines as you continue to watch the series. There are many arcs in the story. And while my favourite is the Hunter Exam arc, the rest of the arcs still make you want to click, "Next Episode" repeatedly until it's 1am.
...
At first, I thought it was a kid's show, but as you continue watching, it's definitely not for kids. It's pretty violent; don't watch it if you don't like blood.
Art & Character: 10
The art is very diverse and unique for each character. No two characters are alike. The character designs suit the characters very well. (e.g. Hisoka's character design is similar to a clown, since his power involves playing cards.) The background is just right; it's not too detailed. Each character is unique in design, and in personality. You'll fall in love with at least one of the main characters.
Sound: 10
I seriously loved everything. The OPs, the EDs and the soundtrack altogether. It's perfection. It fitted in the scenes perfectly; nothing was out of place. The voice actors/actresses did an amazing job. Their voices fit the characters like a glove.
Enjoyment: 10
I was so sad and hung up on HxH when I finished it. I couldn't find a new anime to watch, because I was obsessed with HxH. I usually watch shoujo animes; this shounen anime was a new genre for me. I didn't regret anything.

This is my first time writing a review, and it's because this anime is worth a review. **Little to no spoilers**
Story: 10
This isn't your typical guy-meets-girl shoujo. It's about a weak girl who was betrayed by her loved one, and was kicked out of the palace. Now, she has to survive in the outside world--which is very different from the life she had in the castle. It's a mix of a lot of things: adventure, comedy, fantasy and a bit of romance. They also know how to balance the comedy and the serious scenes. The pacing was not too slow, and not too fast either.
...
Art: 10
The art was amazing. All of the characters and background were well-drawn. The art had an "anime feel" to it. The art wasn't so realistic, as to question whether you're watching an anime or a drama. The character designs were unique, and it suited the characters well. For example, the colour of their hair actually gives an idea of what they are (e.g. White Dragon=White Hair).
Sound: 9
You don't see(or rather, hear) instrumental openings everyday. The first OP was peaceful, I can't complain about it. But the second OP made me feel like there was something wrong with my headphones, when I first listened to it. I think it grew on me, but I still prefer the first OP. The first ED was kind of too emotional(and slow) for me, therefore I prefer the second ED. Actually, "prefer" is the wrong word. I loved the second ED. It really screamed "Akatsuki no Yona". It was calm, and yet adventurous. It fits the anime very well.
Character: 10
The characters were all well-developed that you'll find it hard to pick a favourite. All the characters were lovable (Yes, even the villain.). I find it really hard to hate the villain. He was such a cool and gentle character, but I guess people are all entitled to their opinions. The interactions between the characters are all so cute, it made me smile at my computer screen.
Enjoyment: 10
I wouldn't have written a review if it wasn't enjoyable. I haven't watched a good anime in a long time. A good anime in my opinion has to have a good story-line, and good art. This is one of those animes.
