Gundam 00 Movie To Be Shown At New York Comic Con

According to Anime!Anime!, Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer will be shown at New York Comic Con / New York Anime Festival on October 10th. The two hour movie will be subbed in English.

According to Asahi.com, Director Mizushima will describe the Armageddon between Humans and aliens called "ELS" (Extraterrestrial Livingmetal Shapeshifters), spaceship or missile-shaped creatures. It's an unprecedented theme for Gundam series, which has been depicting the conflict and the concord among human beings. Mizushima said he is ready to see criticism that "This is not Gundam." "It's my task to expand the scope of Gundam works. We have already told 'Human versus Human' story in the TV series. ELS enables us to draw the basic theme of Gundam 'We can understand each other some day.' with wide views."

The DVD will be released in Japan on December 25th.
Look for a likely US release date in Spring 2011.

I just saw the movie at comic con and it was amazing it will be released on bllu ray and dvd next year in Japan and America

This is a rumor I heard, it is that they will be selling the dvd at the convention.
There is a possibility of the movie being shown in San Francisco at the Viz Theater.

Had I known this sooner I would buy me a ticket to New York to see this. I doubt we will we be able to see this subbed en online anytime soon.

As for the alien part I dont really care, more curious to the character developments. And keep making up excuses for humansto fight eachother gets boring as well.

If you're in Southeast Asia, both 'Gundam 00: A Wakening of the Trailblazer' and 'The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi' will be shown in the September pre-Anime Festival Asia in Singapore. The Gundam movie will premiere on the same day as Japan on 18 September.

It worked for Macross, if the plot is done right which applies to most of the Gundam Franchise save for Seed and Seed Destiny, I can see this being a great anime movie. I'll give it a chance since Char's Counterattack was good.
