fun fights between historical figures, can feel the stakes for the first few fights. idk if the manga legitimately fell off recently or if it was all novelty.

half of the volumes and concepts just actually suck though i do like seeing kirito and asuna's relationship better fleshed out. Argo is one of my favorite characters in the franchise. seeing Reki improve as a writer is also nice for long time anime fans.

Gripping historical fiction, Thorfinn's character journey towards redemption is one of the best in the game. Askeladd goated. My childhood idol.

I love the Monogatari series, Isin's prose has had a big influence on my own writing style, he showed me how much fun and how much of yourself can be inserted into it, and I have had a lot more fun writing since. The cast is so lovable and fun but also very layered and psychologically rich. Isin toys with the novel so much. Genius man.

Urasawa and Johan are the biggest frauds ever. I dont have anything positive to say about this manga I do not like it. Thoroughly boring. overrated, shallow slop for teenagers. At least it isn't terrible.

Tokyo Ghoul is an absolute tour de force. Ishida's art is among the best in the game, his mastery over the narrative and the manga form is just insane. The layers, complexity, symbolism, etc allow for infinite room for analysis on TG making it very engaging for the intelligent reader. That aside I also just found it enjoyable and one of the few manga to illicit emotions in me.
