Danganronpa light novels tend to be very hit or miss, and Beautiful Days is...well, it's fanservice.
Unlike other Danganronpa LNs, which tend to be plot driven, this one is an anthology of cute, comedic short stories about the lives of the students from the first two games during their killing school life before the killing started. The stories are written by different authors, meaning they vary in content and quality. This means, just like Danganronpa LNs as a whole, the stories themselves are hit or miss as well.
Some of the stories I would absolutely recommend, such as Chihiro leading the classmates in baking bread in a

very far-fetched attempt to be like Mondo (it makes sense in context) or the rest of the class trying to help Hajime remember his talent, all while Hajime thinks about his relationship to Nagito. The stories like those are extremely cute and in-character, and if you like the characters, you will absolutely have a fun time with them.
Then there are the few stories that are mediocre, and the two I considered to be bad, so I only skimmed them. We did not need a whole story about Monokuma abusing Monomi or Teruteru sexually harassing Gundham, but here we are.
Regardless, I would still recommend any Danganronpa fan read this, because the good stories are super cute, and I enjoyed them quite a lot. The book also features art, which I really appreciated and thought was cute as well.
Danganronpa 1/2: Beautiful Days is the definition of skippable, but if you're a big fan of the franchise, you'll probably get a kick out of it.
