One of my favourite one-shot of all time. Akamura's sensei art is unique yet eay to look at, expressive in its sincere emotions, perfectly compliments the story story of childhood love that's so beautiful yet tinged with melancholic bitterness creating one of the most haunting story hidden in the back of our mind. The titular character of Big Brother is an alluring mystery in the way that our main protagonist sees him. In his innocence he notices all the little details and listens to the conversation being held around him without much reaction, he is just a child afterall. But he does have his own
...
feelings regarding the Big Brother which surfaces once he saw him kissed the girl.
'What you did with that girl, I want that too.'
The plain kiss, that looks as if it was just an everyday think for him brings all the emotions out of Kazu. But then the gutpunch comes in the panel after that. This is a masterful storytelling that had lingered with me years after I've read it, I'm so glad I'd found it again.
