- I Will Allow Witch Watch and a few others Since there is dramatic scenes in them even if its sparse.
- There can be male protagonists in the series, but at least 75% of the manga has to revolve around the Female Lead.
- I Will also not include SOME harem/romance manga, but only some, a bit abitary but again dont wanna conflate the list
- I May count genderbent manga

(Mainly) Shoujo manga featuring characters who are royalty or filthy rich

*often times it's the love interest who is the royal/rich character

The main characters in these stories are bought at an auction, sold at a slave market, or exchanged for cash or other goods in a private sale. This is a common plot device in ecchi and smutty romance stories but is certainly not limited to them. Many purchased protagonists are victims of human trafficking or forced marriages, although some people willingly sell themselves to pay a debt, help someone they love, or escape what they feel is an even worse fate. Characters can be bought for a variety of different reasons, including cases where good samaritans pay specifically to rescue slaves and liberate them from slavery.

This is the Manga collection of all worthy to read Romantic comedy manga I had hunted. Many of the manga included in the entries focuses in school themed romance and some of with drama or fantasy and ecchi. These manga feature girls and women in the Taishō period (1912-1926). The aesthetic is a mix of Western and Japanese as Japan rapidly modernizes.

These are manga about "maidens" so I will leave things like Golden Kamuy and Demon Slayer for another list, even though they are firmly set in the Taishō period.

A great manga has the ability to drag the readers into the story and make them experience what the characters are going through. Intense battle sequences will make you hold your breath in excitement while heartbreaking scenes will make you bawl your eyes out.

But there are times when you don't want to feel such deep emotions from manga. Sometimes you just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the story. In that case, a wholesome manga that can make you smile throughout the story is the one you should read, and these are some selections of manga that can do just that.

These are manga that are super wholesome and sweet!

The primary focus of these tend to be romance, family or other relationships. There may be a subplot, or an occasional serious scene here and there, but the vast majority of the manga is wholesome and adorable!

These are manga where the main couple is already dating from the start, or they get together within just a few chapters of the story!

All of these stories center around a main character with depression.

It is revealed or majorly hinted that they have depression within the first few chapters.

Important note: Not all of these focus specifically on depression, but it is almost always a major component of the main character's development.

Manga about protagonists that's lives changed for the better due to a change in how they see the world, themselves and those around them, though there are some that must go through hardships before they are able to change.

The change in these protagonists aren't instant and some of the included protagonists take a long time to change or just have a more natural gradual change that is more apparent once you have gotten further into the story.

Series featuring main leads with some kind of disability. Some are disabled from birth, while others acquire their disability due to an Illness or injury
