Synopsis

Satoru spends his days listlessly in a factory town. The old man Segawa, a former Yakuza, lives in the room next to his cheap apartment. One day, Segawa asks Satoru to kill him for a 5 million yen, but Satoru hesitates, and Segawa sees through to the madness eating away inside him and begins to have a change of heart, and yet...!?

A story of the filth of society and the dark path that Satoru takes, on the edge of sanity, with a gun and 5 million yen.

The best word that describes the story and the whole theme,is nothing but the actual name itself!
Resonance:the special meaning or importance that something has for you because it relates to your own experiences.

If I were to describe this manga in a sentence, it would be the following:

Bleak and devoid of any light or hope, the ouroboros of the downtrodden bites its tail.

'Zankyou' is a pit of despair that introduces quite a few social themes despite its shortness. It's violent, sometimes rash in how it paces the events unfolding, and utterly captivating in its grim nature. Quite a few episodes in the series will be controversial for a lot of people.
