To be very honest it did take me a while to really get into the story. In the first few volumes the intimacy seemed 100% one sided (to me at least) which gave me a weird feeling. It wasn’t non consensual but for me it really walked a bit too close to that line. Due to this I actually ended up dropping it for a bit.

Almost exactly 1 year ago, I watched the anime. Here I am, reviewing the manga, after reading it over the span of a week. I'm not some guy who only reads yuri btw, I only read this because it is ranked 48th best manga according to MAL, so I'm reading it to see just how good it is.

Story: For this story, I gave it an 8. It's very good. Since it's a love story, I look at the emotional maturity of the characters very carefully. The emotions are on point for a span of students in high school. One of my only criticisms is the ... scene the stepping stone scene at the canal. I feel like the scene wasn't executed easily, and missed the mark on how emotional the subject matter was. I feel like there would have been more of an explosion of emotion or frustration but instead we get some strange "resolution" to their problems. Also, there's a point in the first half where as an adult, I'm watching what is going on and I'm sort of laughing to myself and saying "what the hell kind of sexual assault/abusive shit am i reading" lol, but if you say the same thing, then please just keep reading. Trust me. The author writes very well, trust them.

Art: Some of the most concise, clean and consistent art I've ever seen. It's beautiful drawn, and has such detail throughout the entire series I give it a 10. I usually don't give out high scores, but this series deserves it.

Character: The characters are written very well, despite what you may read in the first half of the series. There's a character that is quite secretive with their emotion (won't say cause I don't want to spoil it) and you sort of don't like it because you think they're just dumb and not brave... But teen love can absolutely make someone fear an emotional attempt with someone they love, to the point they will idle with that person until it's too late. And the back story for this character is really well written. It gets the reader really feeling for the character. All the characters are written so well, right up until the final chapter.

In the end, I'm happy I finished this series. Since I've seen the anime already, I was going to quit before the play, but after reading the play it was just so good that I continued, and the characters age and mature so well throughout this book, I have to give it a big 9 overall. Everything was written with very specific intent for the reader to feel something, whether its frustration or sympathy... But that's very skilled, and I love it. One of the best well thought out series I've ever read. Recommend for sure.

A short manga, but an impactful one nonetheless. I felt that the theme of yuri is a hit or miss, it can either be done poorly and too pretentiously, or it can be done spectacularly. This manga was one which did it spectacularly. There are many sweet moments within the 50 chapters of this manga, and many 𝓼𝓹𝓲𝓬𝔂 moments as well (I can say my yuri loving heart was satisfied)

I wasn't really a big fan of romance or yuri in general, but this was one of the most engaging if not the most engaging romance novel I have ever read. While this is undoubtedly a yuri manga, I would say it is deep down closer to a coming of age story and I do not believe that the story would be impacted not too much if the main couple was a male/female or male/male. It also is a story that applies to finding ones self and it asks what love truly is, something that most romance manga miss. I will break down the core ... parts of the story in the following

Story: 10 - The story is easily the best part of the story. The pacing is perfect and it entrances me throughout the whole journey. It asks open ended questions with unclear answers and yet it also manages to make points that have made me wonder about the choices I have made in my life.

Art: 9 - The art may seem appear generic to some people, but I think it fits the story well and it allows you to focus on more important parts of the story, for example the plot. It doesn't have all too much fanservice for the most part which I see as a positive since it shows that the story doesn't have to resort to pictures of ass and tits to keep you entertained. The visuals at times can also be beautiful and I enjoyed the story greatly. The only thing that keeps it from a 10 is that there is nothing too notable about it, but it still portrays the story well.

Character: 10 - The characters were easily the best part of the story. Barring a few characters who get little characterization and small amounts of screen time each character not only was enthralling but also realistic. The two main characters in particular manage to both not be stereotypical but also be relatable on many levels. The main character in particular is one of the most fascinating characters I have seen, as someone who is both clearly a normal highschool girl but is also both unique in personality. She feels like someone I would know in real life and someone I could talk to like a friend. Every single character fails to fall into tropes where a character is defined by a single attribute(except one character) and it kept me going to the end.

Enjoyment: 10 - I was not only engaged when reading this but I was always satisfied with each chapter. Even the chapters that were more slice of lifey and didn't contribute much still kept me engaged. The way the characters bounce of of each other is enthralling and both real and relatable.

Overall: 10 - I would say that this was one of the best manga I have ever read, and the absolute best yuri manga there is. It doesn't rely on the trope yaoi and yuri use a lot which is the "GiRl aNd GiRl KiSs aNd SeCs <3" but it instead keeps you in with a thrilling story that it satisfying from start to end. 10/10

I have never read a Yuri like this, it's a breath of fresh air, the characters, the plot, the ending, I don't think I could ever find a manga that could make me feel this way.

I have always liked Yuri, it's a genre that warms my heart and leaves a cold void behind it. Love has always been so unreachable to me, although YagaKimi made me realise a lot of things about love.

The romance in YagaKimi genuinely is one of the best romance stories I have ever experienced, it all felt so intimate, gentle and heartwarming.

Bloom Into You is not like other works in the world of shoujo-ai. It is the closest to perfection when you compare it with other works in the same genre. Shoujo-ai/yuri tends to be under a shadow, known for mediocre works that are filled with lots of unnecessary fanservice, melodrama, and a lot of other negative traits. These kinds of stories can be enjoyed, but usually, they depict same-sex relationships in a very unhealthy way that turns a lot of people away.

This manga is by far, the one that comes closest to depicting a relationship between two girls in such a real way. It ... is not built upon sudden sexual advances or sexual harassment. It is built upon the tricky way both of Yagakimi's main characters' minds work and how they connect the dots and figure out what love is to them. The question of what love exactly is and what it means to fall in love is something that Yuu tries to figure out throughout the manga. Love has always seemed like something distant for both Touko and Yuu, both with their own reasons as to why that is, and even as the story unfolds and both are growing a stronger bond, that insecurity of what love exactly remains. Both have different views on love and how it should feel. The concept of love is quickly shown to be the complete opposite of a fairytale filled with absolute happiness and mutual feelings, and that's what I think makes Bloom Into You such an interesting read. It lightly makes fun of those cliche tropes found in so many other romance series outside of shoujo-ai from the very start. It is clear that the message is that love is far more messy and complicated than what a person sees in a typical romance manga.

Yagakimi does an excellent job at developing such an interesting cast of characters. I'd say that this story is not mainly about the romance present in the story, but it's about the character development and seeing not just the main characters, but seeing the side characters grow as well. The story makes use of the side characters instead of casting them off to the side or to fill a gap. They contribute to the story and help the main characters progress forward into their distant future. Every character isn't perfect, they all have their insecurities and issues, and that's what makes them so great in the first place. I love how they handle situations with such maturity and how they act in different scenarios. Some of the settings that they are put in, looking back, was such a brilliant way to develop the characters in a way that feels so natural and in place. Nothing, if not barely anything, feels out of place.

The art was one of the main things that drew me into this series in the first place. I really loved the manga's aesthetic. Though there were sometimes when the art would seem off, though this is a pretty rare sight to see. The drawing improvement is noticeable if you compare the first chapter with the last one. It's nice to see development in not just the story, but in Nakatani's art style. If there is something that the art has always done an excellent job at doing, it is at conveying the emotions of each character. None of the expressions were stiff, though there were sometimes that body poses would look a bit off.

When it comes to enjoyment, Bloom Into You definitely provided a whole lot of it. Usually, I take my time reading a new manga, especially when it has quite a few chapters out. This manga got me hooked right on the first chapter. There were points in the story that wasn't all that entertaining, though it did serve a purpose in developing the story even further. No chapter was pointless to the storyline. Everything fit in nicely. It was interesting seeing the behind the scenes battle of the characters versus their own minds. This story was refreshing in so many ways. It was new and exciting to see a manga tackle on same-sex relationships with this kind of special treatment.

This manga is definitely not a masterpiece. It does have flaws just like any other manga. But the positive certainly outweighs the negative by a lot. This is the best shoujo-ai manga I've ever come across so far, and the impact that it has left on me will remain for a really long time. All stories come to an end, but they will surely never be forgotten.

Another manga that has its drama 100% explained by monologues in the first chapters, nothing is left for the reader to interpret; it's amazing the condescension that Japanese authors have with their readers. The concept of subtext seems to be something from another planet for many mangas. All internal conflicts are EXPLAINED in the FIRST TWO volumes. These monologues come out of nowhere and deliver everything important about the characters.

The characters and their dynamics are quite complex, so it's a shame that the author chose to do it this way, instead of slowly exploring, unfolding ...

It's a hidden masterpiece. Even non-Yuri lovers are going to love it bc it doesn't have cringe fanservice or cringe harem. No character toxic or troublemaker. It's mostly focused on romance and love. *My very first Manga Review and Minor Spoilers*

Despite from the lack of not adapting the rest of the manga into an anime, I still love reading how Yuu Koito and Touko Nanami adapting to their life even though I'm subconsciously know that this perfect yuri manga is now done. I feel sad, but a relaxing happy ending wouldn’t leave me behind.

Yagate Kimi ni Naru or Bloom Into You is the highest rated Yuri manga, yet is rare to be seen by many people. In spite of girls love, not a lot of people are into this genre, but it has one of the kind story. ... And People Are Missing Out on this.

To its story, Touko Nanami-senpai was seen as a "Perfect" student from many people, so on that many student have tried and failed to confess their feelings to her, even a girl!! (she's that perfect). One day, Yuu Koito was suggested that if she's interested joining in a student council. At the back of the school where the student council office was located, she stumbled to see two students and one of which was confessing to the "Perfect" senpai. And so, Touko-senpai turned him down. To see such a confidence from senpai, Yuu was struggling from a confession that she's hardly denying it (because she’s friend with this dude for 3 years back in middle school), unless her senpai helps her. Being with her senpai, she felt comfortable and turned down the confession from the boy. But the next thing that happened is when her Senpai turn on her and confess her feelings. And left Yuu not knowing what to do.

To give this a review:

It’s true that it was never been a romance. Because it was one sided at the first half of the series. Yuu Koito didn’t feel any affection towards Touko Nanami because she’s nowhere near of having relationships with someone and just ended a confession to a boy, but she began having feelings for her the more she hangs around Nanami-Senpai. Yuu didn’t jump into a conclusion like any other series around there. And that’s why Bloom into You has one of the best characters development and yuri series out there that was ever made.

Art was great at first few volumes for after awhile, but it started losing some ink in the background until the final volume of the manga. Still manageable from the looks of characters designs despite from what we mostly come here was for their story.

Characters were Superb. Yuu had some of the best character writing. She's not greedy. She tends to help. And she's reliable to her friends and fellow council members. Touko in the other hand. She's greedy. She's obscure her feelings. But she cares for Yuu feelings and nurture her for not going overboard.

Enjoyment was a definite. No regrets.

Overall = 9.7/10

I hope we get to see the final phase of Yuu and Touko in anime adaptation. Because they nailed it right through the coffin from the VA’s.

As an autistic girl, this manga is surprisingly relatable! Wearing different masks in front of different people to the point of losing your sense of self, feeling like you have to be really good at everything (especially academics) to make up for your disabilities because otherwise you have no value as a human being, struggling with personal space and boundaries, trouble with identifying and expressing your own feelings...

I wish the manga had been slightly longer and had explored Yuu and Touko's relationship more - they only get together 5 chapters before the ending, with the final chapter being a time skip. It feels like Miyako ...

Everything is a 10/10. Except character, we can all agree that Touko is a little selfish- Okay she is REALLY selfish. But the personality trait comes form unwanted trauma. Usually with these kinds of things, it cliché. But Yagate kimi ni naru really further develops this trauma building a great character like Touko. A beautiful story of adolescence and learning to grow up and understand love, Bloom Into You is a beautiful 45-chapter delight that includes many heartfelt emotions that made my heart throb and made me want to cry. It’s such a beautiful story, and finishing it has left me very satisfied. Though it pains me that the story could not last longer, I’m glad it ended on the highest note.

One of the most brilliant things in this manga is definitely that every character has got something special about themselves. Even for those apart from Yuu and Touko, they're clearly not bystander but an important part that forms the whole story.
