Note: I have only read the first 3 chapters of the manga, as it is currently being published right now...meaning those 3 chapters are all I have at the moment. My review is based on these first few chapters and may be premature. They may change in the future as the story develops. But as for now, this is what I think.
Story (6/10)
I thought the start is a bit weak. It doesn't make my heart go doki-doki. I think it's mainly due to the lack of tension. There's nothing exciting about the manga. Furthermore, the story's all over the place. I was often lost
...
because things were jumping from one thing to another really quickly. In other words, the transitions were not very smooth. They were awkward and unnatural.
Sunrise! seems like your average, cliché manga. It's always the same: there are two guys that are developing interests for a girl, the girl develops interests for both guys, the two guys have a mysterious backstory that isn't yet revealed, the guys always come to the girl's rescue, yadda yadda.
I feel like I'm being too negative here, so I'll now mention a few things I liked. I think that although the beginning was a bit weak, I think this manga has great potential. I'm actually really looking forward to knowing what will happen next. I like where it's going. After all, all manga have clichés and meh parts, so I think I should give this a chance.
Art (8/10):
The art's rather pretty. Not something wow worthy but decent enough to not make me want to puke.
I will be editing my review once enough chapters have been posted. I'm 80% sure that I'll end up liking this manga...and so will you. Maybe.
