Story: 6 Let's start with that this mange is no way for everyone, the story is nonsensical and uses the Shogi the same way Yugioh uses card games. Also its sorta all over the place, just know that when you read this your in it for the ride.
Art: 9 The art is definitely jarring at first but if you can get into it then by the end of the manga you will love the author's insane artstyle. I would say give the manga a few chapters and after maybe 50-100 chapters your still not into the artstyle you probably won't like it, but for those ... who get into it, the facial expressions get to Kaiji levels of crazy face distortions and sweat.
Character: 8 I really like the strange characters in this manga, the mc is a bottom of the barrel perv and his main driving force is fighting for a busty girl who wears a maid costume, so yeah and the rest of the supporting cast is just as crazy to a dude who goes beastmode when he plays shogi and kung-fu master, also very good at shogi.
Enjoyment 8 This manga is definitely not for everybody, as you can see by the rating but know that you don't need to know anything about shogi except that it's like chess and the characters get REALLY into it. Again if you get into the insane flow that this author and artist are pushing for then it becomes a surprisingly enjoyable ride. Also, it does have a nice ending if I remember correctly.
Overall 8: I like it, if you are looking for something long to read, this is completely translated, long fun series to get into as long as you give it a chance.

Story:
This is a classic zero to hero story that revolves mostly around shogi. It has comedy, romance, and drama and pretty much uses the whole premise of shogi as Beyblade or Pokemon card game. Even those who don't know shogi can read the manga and understand 90 percent of what is happening

Art:
People at first will not find the art that appealing as it is much different from the fan service art that we are used to. But if you give it some time the art will grow on you. Female characters in this manga are drawn with a better sense of realism that gives them ... a different allure altogether.

Character:
The characters are quite interesting. Apart from the main protagonist, everyone has a deep flashback-style origin story. I especially love the origin story of the Meijin and the main villain. The protagonist is kind of a pushover around 60 percent of the time but it is funny to read nonetheless. Even the interaction between multiple side characters is interesting.

Enjoyment:
I completely enjoyed the ride. The multiple situations that the protagonist finds himself in even though he didn't ask for it. This manga is really and truly a mixture of multiple emotions. Also, it is one of the few mangas in which the female lead is stronger than the male lead and remains that way till the end.

Overall:
This manga is definitely worth a read. Those who are fed up with reading low-quality incomplete mangas and then just wait for new chapters for months. Should pick up this manga as it is complete and really not a waste of time. It has 375 chapters and ran for 8 years which should tell you a lot about its credibility. You can feel the love for shogi in every arc the author writes.
