Holy shit. I have never seen a more offensive and angering manga i have ever seen. And to believe that this manga has a astronomically high 7.82 and is the 10th most viewed yaoi series in manga here. But i will try to explain why I despise this manga more then any other piece of fiction in a countdown.

1.PLOT HOLES- why the authorities are utterly useless? why is azusa enjoying his position in ch 4(and dont give me the crap about Stockholm syndrome that shit is wack)? Why does the card in ch 1 is a jack and in ch 5 is a 8? ... why doesn't any student at all call the fucking police? Well thats enough for now. You see what I mean? why i find that this story feels so uncared and stupid? I swear the author didn't know her own story when releasing.

Edit: 1.5-THE CONCEPT- after rereading the manga I realized that the concept itself is stupid and full of plotholes. Why does the game exsist? I am not sure. I dont think the manga will explain how the game started because it is dumb for someone to want to be in a game where you might go and become a victim. Also why would the popular kids agree to the game, it obviously a danger to their status, so why would they agree for the game. Unless they wanted to have SEX! Which in that case why did anyone agree to this????? WHY WOULD THEY WANT TO LIVE IN A LITERAL RAPE CULTURE! Jesus, I never knew the day would come where a story is literal about a rape culture...

2. NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS- did i mention that ch 1-4 are the only time when the manga has the time to move? yes after ch 4 the manga focuses on not one, but three different couples for no reason which happen in the time of ch 1-4. This trope is so common in manga nowadays that it is ridiculous. I dont minf having side characters or multiple stories colliding, but this is so much of a cliche, not to mention that the formulaic approach to this is so bad, that they may as well have 4 different couples at once. Oh wait. If the characters were good i would be interested but...

3. THE CHARACTERS- while not the worst, the characters are complete archetypes. karino- rapist seme, azusa- "badass" straight uke , kuze- the nice romantic seme(subverted to overprotective seme), kuskabe- nerd uke and so on... You may find cliches fun, but since yaoi in genrel has many cliches in a medium that is nutritious for having many cliches, the bare minimum should be to not have them seen like cliches. Oh, did I mention that the character designs are kind of attractive? yeah, its not that their concept is bad, Their story development on paper isn't the stupidist thing ever, it is just that i cant take their story and suffering seriously if i am supposed to have a boner reading this.

4. THE TONE- the tone is messy as hell. i dont get why this serious manga which wants to be a character exploration is also an attractive porn. This is a problem with all yaoi, but here it is overly noticeable. if u wanna be porn, be porn. The art isnt that bad. if u wanna be an edgy story then be that. but dont mix togther because it dosent work.

5. HOMOPHOBIA AND SEXISM- the sexism part i dont need to talk about, anyone with half a brain could see where it is presented. but the homophobia is kind of weird. while i normally forgive yaoi for having the idea of being gay not a thing, but this is where i draw the line. being gay is represented as such a terrible thing. either you're a rapist or a slut or an overprotective little shit. and you know why this angers me? well its because stuff like this make the gay community look like a bunch of rapist and sluts. this is why we are jokes, monsters or disgusting. Also, dont go on and say "its just in this manga". You know that there are plenty of yaoi manga which do the same thing as in here, albeit less offensive. So if you want to defend this by saying that i should turn my brain off,well, i cant. i dont mind most yaoi's if they have the characters have sex every chapter. its porn. but when stuff like this comes out and people defend it,then i cant handle it.

so, i actually do recommend this manga, so that you will see the horror of this. and hey, if you like it, that is just fine. but for me, i will stick with classmates and ten count.

Caste Heaven is a dramatic yaoi manga that contains the elements that, personally, make it a brilliant work within its niche.

**Just a warning, this is very much a yaoi manga – so expect graphic imagery of intimate relationships between males. Furthermore, many of these intimacies are somewhat violent and are underpinned with potentially distressing themes (to be blatant – rape, blackmail, etc.). So just know this is not another Gosan no Heart or such.

ART: 10
As with all of Takagi’s (Ogawa Chise) works, I find this manga to be exceedingly aesthetically pleasing. While character designs are unrealistic and undeniably feminine, the art ultimately works ... really well to construct atmospheric scenes that range from shocking the audience, to instilling a sense of foreboding and anxiety.

STORY: 8
The concept of a corrupt governing party, and an unethical society, it itself is not particularly original, and the initial premise of the schooling system seems slightly illogical. What makes the plot of Caste Heaven so engaging is its brilliant story telling. The progression of the plot is wonderful: scenes cut enticingly from the past to the present in such a way that raises just enough questions to make you want to binge read the entire series, and changes in the perspective of the manga allow the audience to deeply understand the dynamics of the characters and their respective relationships. What more, the romance intertwined within this manga is very dark, and yet very addictive. Ultimately, while not entirely original, the construction of the story and its themes is very well done.

CHARACTER: 10
All of the characters within this manga are wonderfully distorted and broken in their own way. Many of the characters undertake in cruel and savage acts, and yet ultimately no (main) character can be considered evil or entirely unpleasant – somehow all the characters are charming. The story is broken into two interlinked stories (as of volume two), with each story varying in the narrating perspective as well as providing scenes of the characters’ pasts. This allows the audience to slowly develop a keen and satisfying understanding of the characters personality and behaviour.

ENJOYMENT: 10
Overall, Caste Heaven is everything I look for in a dramatic yaoi manga. The art, the story telling, the characters, it is all wonderfully executed. I honestly enjoy reading not just every chapter, but every page of this manga. The romance within this manga is shocking, the story is cruel and emotionally provoking, and yet somehow you cannot refuse this manga – it’s charming like that.

*Note, this review is for Caste Heaven up until chapter 9.

I don't tend to write reviews because I honestly couldn't be bothered and even when I do, I never write one for an on-going manga.

So... why write a review for Caste Heaven? Great Question!

The answer is quite simple in all honesty; I found the other reviews to be unsatisfying and quite frustrating (no offense).

Caste Heaven is a yaoi manga revolving around the hierarchy between the students of a certain high school that is decided by a some sort of "card hunt" that changes every certain amount of time.

I won't talk long about the art since it is amazing and absolutely breathtaking and I see no ... point in adding more adjectives to it...

The plot, while in it's core not the most unique one, is beautifully played and is very intelligent.

Now, for the most important thing I wrote this review for:

The characters are outstanding and completely enveloping the story as they are what brings it to a 10.

While it's true that this manga is really fucked up, dark and portrays unhealthy relationships extremely graphically that does not mean that the story is bad. You need to have the ability to know when something in front of you isn't healthy without the author straight out slapping it in your face.

Because the story is so dark and twisted and no one says otherwise inside of it, it forces you to be that much emotionally involved.

Each and every character is a work of art on their own. They are intelligent, strong or weak, go through some greatly done development and have very interesting personalities as well as backgrounds.

You get to know almost every character individually (which makes the story way more full and engrossing).

I could go on and on forever on this one so feel free to hit me up about it for more thoughts.

To sum things up, this story is a masterpiece and isn't for weak souls.

This is by far the worst manga I've ever read and I cannot understand how this manga has such a high rating!
I will try to explain where the problems with this manga comes from!

Story: 1/10
I will be completely honest here.
The story had potential to be good, because of a pretty decent story concept! BUT
The story never proceeded to actually investigate the concept it builds throughout the first 1 - 2 chapters and just keeps the concept as an excuse to put in a mix of rape and sex in every chapter.
To say it even has a story would actually be sad say. ... It only has a concept.

Besides that, they never really explain anything about the game's background, nor why the authorities doesn't step in, who created the game or why they did so. one of the side couples actually shows potential of wanting to stop the game at some point, but it never really gets further than that, since that as well just gets turned into an excuse to get another rape scene.

Characters: 2/10
Oh boi! I have a lot to say about the characters!


The characters are pretty bland.
They keep introducing new characters who has zero impact on the story, which makes them feel a bit useless to add. It's fine to have one side couple, just for the fluff, but to add 2 was over the top, when they added nothing to the manga.

The black-haired guy in the main couple has a pretty weak personality as well and he honestly feels like he was just put into the manga, to have someone to throw the main character off his throne and as an excuse to have someone who could rape the main character.

Regarding the main couple, the main character hates the other part of the main couple but develops some kind of really backwards twisted kind of Stockholm Syndrome, cause he gets addicted to being raped?
Besides that the story also makes it seems like the black-haired guy keeps raping the main character, for his own good, even though he could surely find another excuse to 'keep him safe'.

The first side couple was pretty decent to begin with tho, and they did seem pretty cute at some points. They also showed potential to get the story to move, but it was quickly ruined when one part of the couple, together with the black-haired guy from the main couple, forced the other halves, to rape eachother. After that, the victim tried to stay away from the other guy, but for some reason just decided to forgive the guy, because he broke a chair (... or some other furniture) and got angry, which was new to him. So in the end, it had no impact to the story as well.

The main character on the other hand actually has a pretty decent background story, which supports his way of thinking (in a few scenes at least) and I must admit that I felt pretty sorry for him, when it was revealed that his mother was a hooker, and that he had become just what his mother had always told him not to become.

This manga had potential, with its decent concept, but it never tried to get the story to move and it feels like it was just made as an excuse to have rape scenes.
It wasn't enjoyable at all and I honestly forced myself to finish this because I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the rating, and thought that MAYBE it got better. But it never did.

One word: MIND-FUCK.

Do not read this manga if you are not accustomed to reading about rape, abuse, manipulation, and every twisted kink concept on the face of earth. It's all in there.

Honestly, they should write this into the synopsis. I started reading this thinking it would be like Gakuen Heaven with some BDSM in it, but holy fucking hell! It's not what I was expecting or prepared for. I think I'm ruined for life. I can't unsee it now.

Before you bash me, yes, I read the whole thing that was published until now to see what the deal was, why it was ... in the top 10. I couldn't find a reason. Yes, towards the end, there is humor and the characters fit each other in their own weird way...But still, that's no excuse to ignore RAPE!

I kept trying to find redeeming qualities. Yes, the art is good. The sex...meh. It didn't do anything for me considering how frequently it was portrayed. The humor...yes, some scenes were funny. However, the rape, the twisted logic, the group think...IT SCARS YOU FOR LIFE. There are more cons than pros for reading this.

You guys betrayed me by putting this up so high in the rankings. I wish I could erase this from my mind. I wish I'd never read it!

Warning: spoilers about how the manga ends, but I tried to signal where. Since I have already finished the manga, it's hard to talk about everything without mentioning what actually made me dislike it, which is mostly the end.

Well, where to start? This story had a high potential to become something I really enjoy. The concept was great, and the first chapters were very interesting. I was angry, disgusted, and very looking forward to what was to come. Then it started going downhill, and midways it completely crashed and burnt. Oh, first I have to state that I love dark, psychological and twisted stories, so ... my dislike for this manga doesn't come from the fact that it is a fucked up story or anything like that. My dislike comes from how it played out.

Story:

Let's start with the concept and story. The concept, as I said before, was great. But it was just that. The reasoning behind the caste game is that everyone has malice in them, desire to rule if given the chance, will act according to the ambient and the people around them, following the group mentality, etc. Someone in the high castes will act high and mighty even if they would be losers outside the game. And it was a great concept. But it never went further than being a ploy for rape and bullying. It never evolved. It was never explained, how it started, why, why people agreed to it. It was just an excuse for high castes to rape lower casts and no one saying anything because 'the game'. I understand the whole thing about 'if you refuse to participate you automatically become a target', but if many people refused to play, they wouldn't be able to control them. The ones who are always naturally at the top, the famous, good-looking ones have no reason to play, since they are naturally at the top, and the targets and low castes have no reason to play either cause they are going to get bullied and abused ans they can't say anything. Also, you will become a target if you don't play, if you disobey, if you act outside of your role. Why does no one tell the teachers? Because they don't do anything. Why don't they do anything? We don't know. Why don't they tell the police? Their parents? We don't know. There is never stated a reason to why the game exists and everyone participates, besides 'people are influenced by others and the ambient they are in', you know, basically joining the bandwagon. And while that, as I said, is a great premise, it can't stand on its own. It needed more foundation, a more solid base.

The game was also never questioned by almost all the school, aside from a few characters that decided they would 'end the caste game' (this only after they were put through bad situations, because these characters only have morals when they themselves are in the low) and then they did absolutely nothing.

So, the manga had a great concept/premise, but it didn't stand. The story was also practically nonexistent, and the tiny bits of the story that did exist were terrible. It was all rape and victims falling in love with their abusers. Let's not even say anything about what happened to the game, cause if it was that easy then I don't know why no one did that before.

[spoilers here] The ending was also bad. I mean, it's not like I needed a happy ending where everyone got arrested and the game ended, I would love a fucked up ending where the caste game continued, everyone went unpunished and kept being horrendous people, if the vibe/mood of that ending was something dark, like a 'look how fucked up the world is', 'those who have power and influence can do whatever they want'. I would love that and I love those types of stories that show the horrible side of the human being and human society. But a romantic mood, everyone in love and happy with their abusers ending? Feels like it's romanticizing and excusing rape, because the abuser actually loves you etc etc. Kinda nheck to me. When I say that the manga crashed and burnt midways is because not only some abusive couples were already happily ever after, it started to hint at the main couple ending up together and it really went that way. It could also have ended with Azusa somehow getting his revenge on that mf, but it didn't. none of these endings happened (or other endings someone could come up with) and it's a shame how it eneded, a waste of a good psychological setting.

Characters:

So, the characters. The characters were all horrendous, hateful people. They fit with the setting of the story. It was just weird how almost everyone was a rapist, a gang rapist and a rape plotter. Also, everyone knew that rape was happening but no one did shit. The characters have no purpose in the story, aside from providing rape scenes. And they all in the end have a somewhat redeeming reason as to why they raped or planned to rape someone. Which is totally shit because it feels like the author is trying to excuse their actions with a sad background story.

[spoilers here] Don't even get me started on how the main character, who is shown to have a strong personality even after all he is put through, never wavering, never submitting, becomes sex needy and affection needy with his abuser whom he hates. Going against everything set in his personality and behaviour. Even if he, like everyone, actually needs affection and someone to trust, it doesn't fit his character that he seeks it in the person he hates the most. [spoilers end] But I liked his character, I think it was nice how he was the only one who never changed throughout all the game despite what caste he is in, he stayed true to himself, while the others just played whatever role they were given.

There was only a side couple who wasn't part of the 'victim ending up with their abuser' trope. They were both crazy and loved each other like that, with their fucked up relationship. I liked that one. Stayed both fucked up till the end ahah.

Art:

The art is the same as this author's other manga. It's not perfect but it's nice. It has this sexy aura (?). I don't know if it's just me but Azusa (the main character) is very sexy.

Overall:

It starts great for those like me who love fucked up fiction. It ends bad for those like me who like those stories to stay fucked up to the end. Or to end in the right way like abusers getting arrested and victims being free and healing. It's either one or the other, it either ends with the lesson that society is fucked up and the human being is horrible, or it ends with the happy ending that people who do bad things get punished. But if you don't mind victims ending with their abusers (this is fiction after all, the fact that i don't like that type of ending doesn't mean no-one can't like it) then maybe you'll like it. It's such a shame for me, because I really really loved the first chapters.

Bullying isn’t sexy. Corporal punishment isn’t sexy. Rape isn’t sexy, and it certainly isn’t entertainment. This manga is utterly disgusting.
There are so many things wrong with this, it’s hard to know where to start. I’m having trouble understanding how this manga can be so highly rated by so many people.

There has been a lot of criticism in recent years of gratuitous sexual violence against women in books, movies, and TV shows, as it is both offensive and harmful to the feminist movement. But apparently sexual violence is only a problem when directed against women, while it’s fine to have graphic scenes that serve no purpose ... other than to “entertain” the reader, as long as men are the ones getting raped? (Although how someone could find these scenes entertaining is beyond me.) When I define feminism, I think of women being valued as highly as men and being treated with as much respect — not more.

It is rape, any way you look at it. Orgasming does not equal consent, and that’s a dangerous idea to perpetuate.

The only thing I liked is the Art of the drawings, but that's not good enough to compensate the sexism. Nothing could compensate that...

Hey kids! Are you looking for poor writing and flat characters, while also being a poor excuse to put in some Yaoi action?

I’m honestly so confused on why this is rated so highly. I took a glance at the review, and people are giving this 9’s and 10’s. It’s not really worthy of any of that praise. Other than the art, everything in this manga is just plain mediocre.

Story 4/10

In all honestly, the concept for this manga is actually pretty interesting. A caste system based upon popularity could actually be done very well. The first chapter was really good, like, REALLY GOOD.

But, here’s where one of my biggest problem shows with the series lies.

After that chapter, it turned completely upside down into a Yaoi fest.

What I’m trying to say here, is that this shouldn’t have been a Yaoi to begin with!

This is a similar problem in another Yaoi Manga I’ve read, Ten Count, which I’ll be reviewing in the future.

But unlike that manga, they actually TRIED when doing their story!

This manga on the other hand, doesn’t even try to make a decent story, they just put in a concept and put in a ton of Yaoi to classify it as a “story”.

It’s honestly just lazy, and piss poor.

The only truly good part of this manga. Sure, I’ve seen manga with much better art, but the art in this is still pretty good, and some of the color sequences are absolutely stellar to look at.

What a waste of potential...

Almost every character in this story is either a trope or absolutely flat.

There’s barely a single piece of development at all in the story, and whne there is, it’s mostly sloppy, and doesn’t even affect the character as a whole. There’s barely an ny change to the character, and they just stay stagnant.

Here are poor excuses for characters, and I didn’t really care for them whatsoever.

Like I said earlier, I didn’t care for ANY of these characters. We didn’t get to connect with any of them, plus pointless things were added one after another.

I kept reading because I wanted it to get good.
I really hoped it would, but in the end, it didn’t.

This story had the potential to be great, but it ultimately was wasted on pointless Yaoi scenes, and there didn’t seem to be much progression.

It was honestly a pretty disappointing experience.

Yaoi is not typically my thing but I do read a few. Caste Heaven I say is unique from Yaoi's I've read before and it is definitely not for the faint heart. It's no sunshine and rainbows but instead twisted, yet it's rather interesting. Before reading the manga, better be sure your mind is ready and open.

STORY >>>The plot isn't perfect, but the concept of the game is rather fresh and intriguing. It's a game that raises an eyebrow but nonetheless interesting since it is linked to the Stanford Experiment. Moreover, it's interesting how the game is exploited by the characters in various ways, some ... to their advantage. In the future chapters, hopefully more details about the game will be explored.

ART >>> The panels and characters are well drawn so we can get a little something from their facial expressions at least.

CHARACTERS >>> The characters are different from the 'romantic/sweet' type or the 'general' type so if you're looking for those kind of characters then this manga is not for you. Instead the characters are somewhat dark, and their 'intentions' maybe confusing (specially for one MC) but the other MCs inner strength is something I adore.

ENJOYMENT >>> Caste Heaven is something I normally don't like but the concept and the characters (and their development) are engaging enough. It's also interesting to crack one's head into figuring out what could it be that drives the characters behind their actions. I look forward to reading the next chapters.

Overall, it's a manga wherein you either love it or hate it.

This is my first time writing a review and I was not even going to do it but after reading some other reviews I knew I had too because holy shit everyone is so serious about people having sex, like, why?! IT IS YAOI! It is not suppose to make sense, but first, let me tell you why this is actually pretty god damn good.

STORY:

Okay, first of all, this is Yaoi, Boys Love, Boys making out with each other and having hard on dirty sex, it doesn't have to be a fucking masterpiece or to make sense, we are talking about yaoi, please, ... if you want to read some mind blowing shit then go and read Death Note, read Chi No Wadachi, read Perfect Victim, read Kuroshitsuji, read Mo Dao Zu Shi (which is Shounen Ai not Yaoi), read Killing Stalking, Moritat, etc.

And we have to understand that Yaoi and Shounen Ai are too different genres as in one we (Yaoi) must of the times we have explicit sex and a lot of sense like painter of the night, love is an illusion, etc. And the other genre is mostly sweet talk but nothing explicit.

This, ladies and gents is Yaoi, hard rocking sex, the delicious, the dirty, however you want to call it I don't care. But even thought it is Yaoi and it is fiction (Which I will talk about that later) it does have a pretty decent plot that will make you go "WHAAAAAAAAAT" Because it will mess with your head, they will make you thing that something is going on when it is not the case and then they will actually show you what is going on.

It has some good plot twists and a pretty solid environment that the mangaka create so that she could develop even more plot twists in the future. Which as a reader we appreciate.

Pretty good as an overall. I give it a 9.

ART:

Absolutely beautiful and god damn I have the biggest crush in Azusa (and lowkey Karino as well)
I think the art is really pretty. Is all I have to say.

CHARACTER:

Okay, so, I enjoy most of the characters. I really like Azusa, I think he is hella funny and so interesting, yes, he is the typical "badass Uke" But that is just the surface because when you keep reading the story you start learning about his life and end up even empathizing with his mean ass.

On the other hand Karino is gross as shit, but the story is so well written that you will end up liking him so much and he is deffo one of my favorite characters. Crazy, but it is what it is.

But I am giving it an 8 because I didn't like the other characters.

ENJOYMENT:

I binge read this and finish it in half a day because daaaaaaaaaaaamn, it was so good. It was so addicting and I loved it. And I was postponing it so much because the reviews where not the best, but I am so greatful and thankful with myself for reading this because it has become one of my favorite Yaois.

OVERALL

I give it a 9 because I really hate how some of the characters were built. But well, everybody makes mistakes. Just like the people that rate this poorly, it is fine, you made a mistake, but everybody does.

But now I will explain why "This, ladies and gents is Yaoi, hard rocking sex, the delicious, the dirty, however you want to call it I don't care. But even thought it is Yaoi and it is fiction" I said that before and I said it because we need to understands that manga, manhwa, manhua and anime they all are fiction. It does not have to resemble the reality and you don't have to do what you read in this or take it seriously. More of it is Yaoi, like, come on.

So given the fact that is Yaoi, that it is fiction and that it is a Japanese god damn comic that will never happen in real life and it does not have to make sense because we are here to see guys having sex with each other, I give it a 9 because it does have a good plot with interesting characters that will make you connect with the story.

In conlusion, give it a chance, is good, it is funny, it is interesting and worth binge reading. But please, don't take it so seriously, it is just a drawing of two man banging each other.

so... I don't even know where to start with this atrocity. it takes place in a really messed up high school that allows rape and bulling. the students are all brain washed into thinking this is ok as well.

there are two main characters in this manga the first on is the previous king (I forgot his name so imma call him 1) and the previous target (forgot his name as well so has 2)

during the story 1 gets demoted to something called a target, where he is constantly bullied and not to mention his life at home isn't the best either. 2 is promoted ... from the target to the jack because of his new friend 3 (this name is also forgotten)

3 then practically brainwashes 2 when they meet and throughout the book at least to where I have read at chapter 10. using sex and other ways to keep them close together and its just really creepy.

1 was a very cruel king in his classroom so when he turned into a target he wasn't let off easy. his friend stabbed him in the back (metaphorically) and turned himself to the king and now he rapes 1 as many times he wants during the school day.

over all, I have only read up to chapter 10 and feel like throwing up. there might be some good thing coming up at some point but honestly, its not worth the read.

this manga is creepy and really fucked up and will most likely give someone nightmares or scar them for life because of what happens to these students. I do not recommend it and I am sorry to those who read it like I did

Okay.... I know this seems popular, but this was definitely not for me. I would absolutely call it appalling. I understand the main plot point is an excuse for some porn, but even MY suspension of disbelief has a limit.

The story is set in a school where students roles are divided in a pyramid of power. Why. Why make it a school setting? Why not an alternative dystopian reality? In that case I would have been much less harsh. Because the premise makes absolutely no sense.

In the story, Azusa used to be the King, but when the order changed again he didn’t manage to get ... the King card once more, ending up in a uncomfortable situation. Also people used to hate him so they are set to revenge. And. Then I stopped because I couldn’t go one. I just couldn’t buy that a school could do this... like... no. The manga is an excuse for non consensual scenes, which are not even treated seriously.

First of all, this is the best abusive yaoi manga I ever read (and I read A LOT.)

Second, if you don't like things like rape, physical and mental abuse + weird kinks, then don't read it god damn it! It has abvious tags what this manga is about and people who dislike that kind of stuff are reading it anyways and leaving a bad reviews. Now the review.
I don't read yaoi for the plot, I read it for the sex scenes and this manga delivered them ... in a huge ammount as I expected. They were well made and they were enjoyable to read, expecially because almost each of them had a fokus on some kind of diferent kink (bondage, costumes, toys, crossdressing etc.)

PLOT
There is an ongoing Caste game in the school where the manga takes place. Each student's task is to find a card hidden somewhere in the school. The higher card you get, the higer your position in. If you are a king, you are on top of the class. If you are the target, you are the lowest and anyone can basicaly do anything they want with you.

The plot really surprised me. It kind of felt like a psychological thriller since almost all characters have some kind of really dark side. Plot points such as betrayals were my favourite, portraying how everyone wants to get higher status in the caste game and wiling to hurt anyone they need to get it. It did felt like a modern survival game tho.

I am aware I gave this higher than it should get, mostly because it was my first manga read and I really liked the beginning.

Plot is good at start, terrible later. We follow a story of Azusa an mc that was a king of the school, prideful, arrogant and a ruler. He gets degraded by his former loyal dog Karino who becomes the king, Azusa becoming a Joker aka the lowest. Inside of school caste system is what rules and we see people repeadetely getting fed up for not following it.

Now here it gets good for me, Azusa is a prideful mf so ... he never wavers, he stands up and refuses to become a target, defying everyone and everything in his path, he never tries to make others pity him and as a character, he is so enjoyable, Karino on the other hand is a sadist, problematic to say the least, full of complexes and flawed to again say the least. But for some reason he is attracted to Azusa (in his own twisted way) while Azusa serves him to get perks of not being everyon's bitch and wovs to get revenge.

You might be asking why is it not that good then? Well, here's a thing, lemme get first one out of the way, mangaka is lazy asf and doesn's upload for months almost year, annoying. Second the way story is going now, Azusa is falling for Karino, which me being a hopeless romantic love, but I think it's really bad, considering his character and overall story. It had potential to say the least, but right now it's dissapointing.

Dear mangaka, what we all wanted to see was Azusa fighting Karino and not giving up till he screws him ten time plus, what we are getting is a sweet masochist who enjoys Karino and Karino being affectionate... which is bull. Azusa should overthrow the system, overthrow Karino and laugh in his face even if he starts to love him cuz it's sth that would be realistic and enjoyable.

All in all, worthy read, but could've been much more.
