Synopsis

Ai is a young woman who wakes up with no memories besides her name and the vague notion that she is a princess from another world. In her confusion, she stumbles about the streets of Shinjuku until she encounters a young man named Kent. She is immediately charmed by his kindness, and eventually ends up accepting his offer of shelter. As Ai tries to piece together her forgotten origins, it becomes clear that she possesses a passion for music and a singing voice that captivates those around her. But enemies from Ai's former home are in pursuit of her, and she must hurry to understand her role in an otherworldly conflict she cannot even remember.

Mixed Feelings
Misaho Kujiradou's intricate and whimiscal shoujo style mixed with Ai Yazawa's beautiful, detailed gothic lolita character designs are a stark contrast to the poorly written, generic and cliche story that is Princess Ai Monogatari.

The main character is a massive Mary Sue, who not once faces a let down she cannot beat by the power of love.
The story is all tropes you've already seen a million times before, which is honestly just unfortunate as I think this story really could've been something great, did it not fall into a pattern of common cliches. Had the war in Ai-land been expanded on and had Ai been a ...

Princess Ai is the first manga I have read from a non-Japanese author. Its “written” by Courtney Love, the lead singer of grunge Band Hole and the illustration is done by Ai Yazawa. The manga was created during a time when western comic book companies like DC and Marvel were trying to capitalize on the growing popularity of manga and anime.

The story focuses on Princess Ai, a young amnesiac girl who wakes up in Tokyo from Ai Land, a war torn planet. The word Ai in Japanese means love something you’ll see as a symbol throughout the story. The only clue to her past ...
