"Himesama Tanuki no Koizanyou" is a RomCom with a bit of supernatural elements.
The story centers around our male protagonist "Riku",who is at the end of his highschool time, when he is suddenly introduced to his fiance,"Miko",who is a Tanuki princess. Now his family bestows the legacy of the Tanuki Clan into his hands and sends him onto a mission to become a Tanuki to be the heir to the chefs position. The story is told fluent and with a nice pace.

During the story we are introduced to a variety of characters, some more serious while others are rather ... goofy and obviously for comedic relief. As far as I experienced it, the side characters may be rather shallow,however, they are still likeable and the things they represent are well rounded. The main characters go through noticable development, albeit it not always being visible instantly. The "love-triangle" is solved very well in my opinion and the end is an overall happy one, satisfying on top.

The art was very solid, an 8/10 for me. It portrays the necessary emotions surprisingly accurate, which is something absolutely important for RomComs!
I liked how the panels were filled with background and felt pleasant to read.

Himesama Tanuki no Koizanyou is a wholesome Friendship/Love-Story, that combines strong points of the different aspects of manga, to create a lovely package.
Would I recommend it for people with high expectations, who need extraordinary art, plot twist after plot twist and so on? No.
But I will recomend it to everyone who wants to venture in the world of romance and appreciates a story for what it is? Absolutely. This is a work of art for everyone,who wants to start manga or who yearns for a good nights read.
A worthy 7/10! Thumbs up.
