THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. I will try to be as oblique as possible, but if you correctly guess who or what I am talking about, that's your own damn fault.

Hot Gimmick is all right. It's not a particularly good manga by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not an offensively horrible one either. The art isn't bad, it's actually pretty good, albeit uninspired. The story is rather standard Soap Opera fare, and I mean that in the most positive way possible. It is ostensibly about Hatsumi, our intrepid heroine, but throughout the series we see her will subverted by the male lead(s). However, ...

At the time while I was reading this manga, I thought the story was pretty average in the beginning. It was just like any other story where a love triangle forms, and a couple forms while one guy is left out. And of course, this guy is the despicable one that the main heroine has no intention of falling in love with. But then twists occur and mysteries begin to develop. By the end of the story, it's a surprising ending, but when you think about it, the story couldn't have ended any other way.
Overall, I would read this manga, but I found the ...

reverse harem nightmare-
main character has no backbone, was blessed by god to be infuriatingly indecisive her whole life. I think an accurate name to this manga would be "sexual assault-the manga"
my god, the men in this manga, absolute trash, mc gets to pick from
-asshole brat, assaults at any given moment, treats her like property has extreme sexist tendencies (main)
-creepy brother that turns out to not be a brother that has been in love with his technically-sister (shudder)
-this other asshole that roofies her

who would you choose?
the manga kind of forces you to choose the absolute shithead that is ryouki tachibana, intimate moments are ...

Don't read this. It's not worth it, even as a "it's so bad it's good" type of read, and, if you're the sort of person who was interested in the premise due to it sounding like it'd appeal to bdsm tastes: it doesn't get that far, so this manga isn't even that good for that.
If anything, this manga is a cautionary tale of what happens if you have no spine and let people push you around. A story like that by itself isn't bad and in fact can be interesting, however it's extremely tone deaf and almost insultingly predictable, it's a very typical "jerk ...

I loved this series. The main male lead is so real. He is slightly childish as he still sees the girl as someone he can bully at first, but later on starts to realize he has a crush on her and lets her go for a while. All the while this is happening, the main male does not show real affection toward any other female.

The Main female is at first terrified of the main male lead, however, she later warms up as she notices that maybe there's something about him that she's missing. She is hurt by him mentally, ...

It's a little bit ridiculous to see how much influence one ornery woman can have on an entire apartment complex, but nevertheless, drama permeates every part of this manga. Anything gossip that is remotely scandalous is spread like wildfire and affects everyone's behavior; past relationships are brought out into the open and current ones crumble in a few chapters. Romance is fragile, complicated, and at times stupid and incomprehensible. Ah, but that's life, isn't it?

What made Hot Gimmick the most appealing to me was its interpretation of love. The characters attend high school and are not quite inexperienced but also have not experienced real relationships. ...
