Preliminary (35/411 chp)

Overall, it is a good series to get into. The storyline really starts around volume 7. Until then, you spend your time read crack chapters that is very funny and entertaining at the same time. I started reading this after friend told me about it, and now I'm hooked. I gave this an overall score of nine, because it took too long to get to the story line. With all that said and done, I highly recommend this manga to anyone.

Also should mention, have seen anime twice and begun third time watching whilst reading this manga.
While my memory is fresh I'll do my usual "review", read 4.5h straight nearly 300 chapters.

✦Story
A straightforward flashy battle shounen. Thematic is this time around mafia inheritance battles. Now biggest issue with the story is that some things were frustratingly wrapped up, simply because of the main character stereotype. As for story battle element side, the progression/training was superb. ... A lot of power-ups and really cool presentations in general. Although the way how final battle got wrapped up, is something I wasn't that fond of. Growth, progression and relationships between characters were bloody well done from "battle drama" point of view. Also story did offer quite few surprises and quite a lot of explanations. On top of that there were a lot of "wut?" reveals, or plot twists. However you like to call them. Point being, one of the better battle shounen series. From the pure battle shounen story'wise, it was was a treat, whilst the "romance" or such character dramas were non-existant. But they weren't focus, so they don't matter in my final scoring.

Of course I should mention, it's one of the more lighter toned battle shounens that gets heavier as it goes on, but It never forgets the gag aspect, which means the general feel remains always "lighthearted". "Gag" side can be frustrating and annoying at times, but I found the balance for the most part quite harmonic.

FORGOT TO ADD, the story suffers a bit from a gag/comedic slow start. Takes a bit time before the "Cool battle shounen" part begins.

Fancy "battle suit" designs, cool powers, cool fights, some character designs were absolutely stunning. Very powerful battle emotion deliverance. Character design in general was a bit weak, but when mattered, it was superb.

Lot of stereotypes, edgy characters, cool characters, crazy characters. I was not disappointed, most characters amused me. Now, the main character stereotype is something I know lot of hate. Our MC is a very wimpy guy who is bad at everything and is a coward who is afraid of doing things. He is also afraid of people to certain degree and is extremely awkward with girls. Yes, the usual harem route MC live "highschool dxd or love-ru". The typical "wimp" you see in most harems and a fair amount of battle shounens. But, it's a battle shounen, which means he has a strong will regarding protecting who he cares about and thus him becoming badass when he gets serious or when time need him, is superb. I love such type of characters, love see them growing, protecting and becoming stronger and stronger. Although, until the end his non-battle personality pretty much stayed to the "gag level wimp".

To be honest... relatable character. Only difference is that their "family and friends give supporting strength/cause/reason" etc.. or "when needed be serious/badass" is nonexistent characteristic of mine. Haha.....

✦Enjoyment & Overall
I mean seen anime twice and watching for the third time, and I finished manga as well now? I think thats the answer of my enjoyment. I did adore it, absolutely fun battle shounen with story that did became quite hard to keep track of. Lots of surprises and twists and of course the most important part of a battle shounen. The fights/designs were very cool.

need to scoop of OST and images of this series.

I loved it, had aspects that It missed and lacked, thusI cannot call it favorite nor give it perfect score.

This is one of the most underrated series if not the most underrated series i have ever watched/read. outside the first 20 or so episodes which were slow as hell this series is very easily S-tier. The mafia, a topic that, while restricted to a certain extent with it being a shounen series, could've been so much more, with lots of untapped potential that could bring to a very compelling story. That doesn't necessarily mean it failed to please most of its readers.

Story 6/10

I'll start with the hardest point right away. Reason for this is that I felt very comflicted in rating this and you'll understand why. The story follows Sawada Tsunayoshi, commonly known as Tsuna, a boy who lives with his mother and is considered as below average in everything. Being chosen as the next head of the vongola family, ... he is lectured at home by Reborn, a pro hitman who is also a baby, in order to become a leader worthy of the title.
The premise is quite simple, as expected of a shounen title. However, the story arcs in the middle of the story are very good and definitely what makes this so compelling to read. Notice how I put emphasis on "middle of the story", that's because the early and the final parts of the manga diminish in comparison to the middle and good story arcs in general. In fact, the manga begins as a gag comedy and it stays that way for a good 50 or so chapters in order to introduce the main characters. Personally, I was not a fan of this approach and it should've been done in a way in which the plot or the world building progresses. As for the ending, while I will not spoil you, those who have read probably understand that it was a very big middle finger to character development to the main character which wasn't reveived very well by most and with good reason.

Art 8/10

Art was good, I don't have any complaints about it actually. It's not the best i've seen, otherwise the score would've been higher, but the fights are clear and some pages, namely the ones in which it's only one panel, are quite detailed, making it a big plus for the manga.

Character 8/10

The strongest point of the series in my opinion. Tsuna's entire family has very distinctive personalities and some of the villains also display something other than sheer arrogance. My only complaint is that a few characters could've used more development, or heck, even have story arcs of their own as to understand certain behaviours they show.

Overall 7/10

I really believe this could've become one of my favourites if it wasn't for the rather repetitive gags and weak plot progression of the beginning and the poor ending that left a bad taste in the mouth. They don't do justice to the actually story which begins 50 or so chapters later, in which some progression finally starts to get shown and we get to understand better of what is going on. With that said and done,I will conclude by saying it's worth putting the effort into getting to that part. If i had to make an analogy that sumarized hitman reborn it would be a sandwitch with the best filling that comes into your mind, but you had to eat it with moldy bread and you tried to endure the taste of the bread in your mouth just so you could have a taste of the filling that came with it.

This is my first manga review, so I'm sorry if it turns out bad
(May contain spoilers)

Story-6/10

This is one of those mangas you'd never expect to be serious . It started out as a slice of life sort of manga. The first arc helps you get to know the characters better, but I find it boring and cringy. After the first arc, it became more exciting and action based. I love the mafia aspect of this story, despite it not being very mafia-like at times considering the story and such. There are times when the story is being dragged on too much, even when ... it is not really necessary. The biggest downfall, in my opinion, are the last two arcs. The inheritance arc is well mediocre and a bit predictable, and most of the characters it introduced are discarded easily later on in the story. What throws me off the most is the final arc, I find the premise to be very interesting and it has a lot of potential, but the last few chapters are anti climatic to say the least, especially the ending of the manga, which is very rushed. The arcs before those though are written well, and provide good action.

Art-9/10

The art is very detailed, nice and you could see that it has a lot of improvement from the first few chapters of this manga. The backgrounds and character designs are drawn well.

Characters-7/10

My biggest gripe about the characters is development. Some of them evolve well, but there are some who are one dimensional. The biggest problem is Tsuna's character, he has the potential to be a great protagonist. But I feel like the ending just ruined it for me, as it seemed like the mangaka just eliminated all of the development he got from the story. As he did not progress much at all form the very first chapter. I also dislike how women are portrayed in this manga. While there are some good female characters, most of them serve irrelevant to the plot. I honestly felt that they could be more than just emotional supports, but the mangaka did not know how to develop their characters outside of it, or simply chose not to. However,despite the flaws, You would find yourself being attached to most of them, because they never fail to grow on you.

Enjoyment 8/10

While I dislike the way the manga turned out after the future arc and the ending in particular, I still enjoyed it. And if there would ever be a sequel to this manga, I would read it.

Overall-7/10

Katekyo Hitman Reborn is a manga with potential. Sadly, I think that the mangaka does not know how to properly execute the plot. This manga suffered from pacing problems, so if you like a manga does paces its story well, I guess this manga would not be any good.

The first like 50 chapters are what is called filler. However, as this was the first manga i ever read, I didn't hate this. If you read this DO NOT SKIP THESE CHAPTERS. These, though boring, add to the story and make the characters seem more real. The story is kinda cliche but the characters are what makes this manga good. The art quality kinda varies from arc to arc. It is both serious and light and enjoyable and overall I enjoyed it.
Recommended for those who like Fairy Tail or One Piece

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is probably one of the funniest mangas I've ever read. When I first saw it, the drawings were rather rough and unflattering (maybe the artist, who is a girl, was trying to draw it "boy-style"?), but the storyline was wickedly funny. Seriously, who thinks up stories involving gun-toting infant hitmen?
As the storyline progresses, it seems more like a comedy than a super shonen-fighting kind of manga. Tsuna and his gang gets into all sorts of mischief that is solved in one or two chapters. That's the only reason why I gave its "Enjoyment" rating a 7. ...

I always wanted to comment on this series tho it may be a little late but I still wish to say some key points that cause this to never reach is key potential to me.

(there or some spoilers in here so read at your own risk)

1: No Character development
2: Not utilizing the elements that your story have
3: bad use of romance
4: Horrible ending

1 character development (mainly I'm going to speak about main character in this one since if i talk about all support and mc in this show it would be to long)

in shounen manga one of the biggest thing along with having action pack awesome scenes that draws the reader is watching the character develop step by step. Not all shounen manga have M.c character developing (ex: one piece luffy DBZ goku ) let me just say a quick show of what i mean by using luffy and why he didn't need character development. from the begin of one piece luffy was never a coward or a weak type of character he was always confident and strong willed and does what he wants to do and feel like doing similar to goku if i say so my self they or more in the category of Over power stupid/genius characters from the start. what i mean by that is from the begin of one piece we witness luffy doing goofy and stupid things like a 5 year old child but when he gets into battle he's like a fighting genius and some what over power from the start of the show. the same goes for goku he was stupid in many ways and seem to know only how to eat and fight also shown to be a fighting genius and throughout both of there stories they never change from the begin to end they tend to be the type that allow people to draw near them and change due to there straightforward nature.

tsuna is from the other bread similar to Kenchi from History's strongest disciple they or weak,cowardly, talent less, so so, uncool and with just about no friends at all type that we see in some shounen manga these or the types that the readers get to enjoy to things watching them get stronger physically if it's a fighting type of shounen manga and watching them slowly come from that pathetic self of theirs to a full fledged bad ass.

So for this character development topic about how tsuna haven't develop at all I will use kenchi as an example of good use of character development. So first like i said above those were the traits tsuna poses in the begin of the story but after meeting reborn and being cast into endless battles but realizing trough these battles he was able to find a place in the world and also gain friends and get closer to the girl he likes as well as becoming a better leader and calling shots well also being able to slowly become more confident in him self. oh you guy's may thing from hearing all of this that there seems to be ntn wrong with his character development well guess what your wrong yes with this it's actually good character development but hats only if the development actually sticks and continue to build up trough out the hold story. So let me explain mostly all what I mention above except for getting friends and getting closer to the girl he likes which can't really say has much to do with character development stays trough out the story but every thing else was reset after an arc was over and we go back to the every day type of arc. whats happen here is the the creator tends to remove all the development he gains trough these trials and turns him back to the character he starts of with in the begin he kept on saying he will never become the 10 boss I understand him saying that in the begin but after 3 4 5 6 arcs and he acts as the 10 boss and gives orders like a boss uses the property off his mafia family accept the heritage of his family and even claim to destroy it if he has to accept the legacy and continue down some of his predecessor path. but once those arcs or over the creator trows everything he gain from them or say during those arcs out the window like it never happen. which is extremely irritating when you feel like yes the mc is starting to become a bad ass and he might soon accept being the boss and then things will get even more awesome and then this happen. now from what I look at from this I think it has something to do with the fact that the creator is a gag manga artist and if you read enough of gag you would know that one of the biggest things in gag that's different from shounen is that what happen in the last chapter story stays in that chapter story.

For an example say in a gag manga story the mc cut off all his hair and turn bald for the hold chapter when the next chapter comes out it's like the previous one never appear there is no continuation of previous chapters. (tho there or still some gag manga that have continuation such as D-frag and so fort ) but most gag manga tend to let things that happen in previous chapters stay in that chapter so I believe the creator is doing something similar with letting every character development tsuna build up during those arcs reset and let him keep denying becoming the boss as a runing gag since she supposedly place it as a gag/shounen manga. this was a horrible mistake and a not funny joke if she had allow tsuna to grow as a character and kept the growth he gain and allow the experience that he gain trough out the battles stick to his character and showed even in his everyday life so that the readers can see him slowly progressing to what we hope he become it would of drawn and satisfy us more then just seeing every thing that was build up collapse in our face like a stupid unfunny joke. while im at it lets just try to cover the other few points but brief first the romance that was suppose to happen with the other 2 girls were horrible and never bear any fruit to the point I even wanted one of them to die to maybe at least serve a purpose to drive the mc to become what he should. also the mc never even once gain the balls to confess and always kept keeping his feelings inside like a wuss. and the ending was horrible I mean at first they had the future arc where they show every one of the characters future versions so we were super hype on hoping to see tsuna at least once but all we got was his lower half face and I think his back when this happen I thought of an idea for the creator to fully satisfy his readers to believe the hold book was worth the journey after seeing an ending where she atleats dedicated 4 pages of the last chapter to a future where tsuna is boss and his guradings discussing something and him giving orders like a bad ass and then they leaving to execute them whiles also showing him in a boss chair with ether one of the annoying chicks since none of them seem different to me coming in to give refreshment to them and they have a panel showing tsuna as well as her ring finger. and then maybe reborn busting trough the window and attempting to kick tsuna in the head like he always does but tsuna was able to doge by going hyper mode at will but reborn still finds a way to hit him calling him by the nick name he usually use then correcting him self saying something like I guess that nick name doesn't suit you anymore. with this it will show a lot of things such as tsuna growth physically and character development first we got him acting like a true boss and looking like one the same time and speaking and being more confident in his self we also seem him even strong enough to quickly sense reborn attack and able to enter hyper mode at will no longer needing to rely on the pills and even reborn praising him for his progress next we got to see him actually gain a lover and we get to see how his future self looks all of this will be enough for mostly all readers to satisfy there hunger for a good ending. but instead we got an ending that no different from there every day arcs

Kenchi on the other hand was done well un like his counterpart above he slowly grow trough each fight he had at first he was an extreme coward and barely can stand his ground for what he believe he was always afraid of sharp objects and didn't want to even come near them he never wanted anything to do with his weird friend organization shinnpaku alliance and was afraid to have the resolve to die in battle. but all of this slowly and obviously was shown to change trough out the show and even the people around him and that are in his school notice these obvious changes he become extremely strong step by step from being able to fight armatures in clubs to tugs outside school to semi pros in school to high class disciples known around the world and even hold off and come back alive against real masters and tell the end he him self finally reach grand master level. in the begin he was scared in fights and even when he did fight he was an extremely slow starter but later we see him slowly start to pick up in the amount of time he becomes serious in a fight to the point he starts from the begin we also saw how at first he could never face a girl but learn to cover this weakness by only using submission Technics on them instead of hitting. we watch him from having 0 friends to having a hold lot and even fully acting on his position as co commander of shinpaku alliance and relying on his friends to have his back we watch him half way trough the manga confess to the girl he likes and tell her that he won't fully confess tell he has the full strength to protect her. we also saw how he had many different fears and even up to some of the later chapters he still did but he laid a resolve that no matter what he faces he will never run and he stick to this to the end showing how he was able to face off with masters that can kill him in an instant and how he does what ever he believe is right never backing down no matter what he has to face. (this is showing that he has evolve slowly to the type like goku and luffy doing what they feel like doing and feel is right never listing to other people which is the road to the true strong) there or many things that showed how he develop as a character and the ending of this story was quite satisfying if there was anything i didn't like it was that I wish there was more chapters but I guess there wasn't anything left to build on. If you haven't read this yet then please do it's an awesome read 585 chapters (History's strongest disciple) there or other things that show character development but it will take to long and I've already write way to much so I can't even cover the 2 point but just to out it in a nut shell with the cards the creator had (mafia, linage, guardians that apart of your intermediate family, rings that represent different meaning and so on) each of these elements were enough for the creator to make the best shounen manga ever ether better then one piece and the others or on par as long as she used it properly but i guess since she wasn't a shounen manga artist it kinda bite her in the butt. they really didn't use much of the mafia elements and one of the main reason to is because of tsuna not accepting his heritage early in the story. anyway this what I would like to say quickly. thanks for reading my opinion and I hope you can read this properly my grammar sucks (but don't point that out please)

I´ve got some mixed feelings about KHR, this manga is one of the most enjoyable reads I´ve had in a while, but still, it has its flaws because of the shonen nekketsu trope that it follows.

STORY (7/10): The story was very cliche, it followed famous tropes, the characters find themselves in trouble against a new situation with powerful enemies, they train and have some nice fights against the powerful underlings, the protagonist fights against the leader and ends up winning because of a powerup most of the time. Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is a fun spirited story with humorous situations, likable characters, and an intriguing plot. I found this story through a manga reading app, on the popular page, and decided to check it out. When I first started reading I thought little of the story's direction and plot developments, but enjoyed the fun times and laughter that always surrounded the cast. As the plot started to move I found myself gaining more and more interest in the plot surrounding Tsuna and Reborn. Reborn as a concept is so distinctive and expansive. I've finished reading it again and thought I might as well write a review.

I enjoyed reading it and never felt like dropping it (any time I've read it), but it never felt like a masterpiece either so I don't get all these 9 or 10 reviews.

The best part of the manga to me? Lambo-san, I just love that little guy, and so almost every page he's in gets a 10 from me. I'm sure many must have been annoyed by him.

The worst part for me? It just tried to be too much and doesn't manage any right. For close to 70 chapters it's a slice ...

Look i really enjoy the anime like alot, its fucken great and this manga is also really well panelled, but as a whole truly a disappointment after a certain arc, where the anime stopped it just goes downhill.
