Digimon Tamers 1984 is a one-shot light novel and as a prequel of the Digimon Tamers series. The events happened in 1984, 17 years before the Digimon Tamers series take place.
Story: 10/10
The story gives more details about how digimon was first created and how it was developed on the year when computer was still on low technology until the project was cancelled. Quantum physics, communication language, and all about computerization were involved in this project. Character: 9/10
The characterization in this novel was shown greatly, especially of how the main character, Daisy feels when she's being involved in the project, how she faces the problem when and after something unexpected happen, also how the characters here live on that era. Other characters like Tao, Shibumi, Curly, Babel, and many more weren't described fully maybe because the main target of the characterization here is Daisy. Also, this is just a one-shot light novel which only tells the detail of the story.
Overall: 9/10
This light novel really gave me more explanation of what happened in Digimon Tamers, the concept of digimon, how the Wild Bunch got involved in that project, and also computer science concepts in real life. This is really recommended for those who are anxious and maybe not that understand the back story in digimon tamers. For me, this novel clearly had made me love Digimon Tamers more and more..
